If you stick thumb caps on the joy cons to theme them up, the plain-ness of the black grip works out ok. It also suits the yellow cons very well.



You can Peach up your pink joy con or Rosalina up your blue joy con to, both would look okay on a black grip.

Yes that is correct, but that these grips won't last 5 minutes is a bit of a myth really. They seem fine to me (I have the black one too that comes with console) and 2 x the different PowerA Mario themed grips and I see no difference in using either.

Of course the only and ultimate test as to question marks on how long will last is time itself. Come back in a few years for an update

good price, I have the neon console and recently purchased pink/green joycons so I need one but I fear my only option is boring black or it will look awful

seen official black one £9.99 @ Argos/Tesco. Maybe that is the standard price though, dunno.

I would get the charging grip if you don't have a way to charge them up and play two player often.

Where did you get the red joycons?

The dark red joy cons came with the special edition Odyssey console bundle. You can buy the pair of cons on their own but only released in Japan to date I believe (see eBay if interested in getting them on their own).

£5.99 now
