Xbox - Buying from other regions using card/vpn - UPDATED 2018
Hi all,
Following on from a thread I created 3 years ago here, this is an updated guide to buying digital games from other regions at a MUCH lower cost than from the UK store.
This does not involve changing ANY settings on your Xbox, can all be done online & is safe to use (no bans, infractions etc).
Buying with cards seemed to have been stopped around 2 years ago now, but after a few of us have tested today, this now appears to be working once again, but with a few small updates.
Step1 - Find a game/DLC you wish to purchase via the digital games comparison website (https://xbox-store-checker.com/en/).
Step 2 - Click the link to take you to the Microsoft Store. of the country in which the game is cheapest.
Step 3 - Ensure you are logged in. If the store takes you to the UK store, in the bottom left of the screen will be a clickable link stating "United Kingdom". Click this, then select the store you wish to purchase from.
Step 4 - Click on buy game & then proceed to enter payment details. It is advisable to use Goolge Chrome for this task in order to translate the page into English.
The following cards have been tested as working for this step, please let me know if you have success & what card you have used and I will update the list:
FX Credit Card
Monzo
Revolut - NOT WORKING
Step 5 - Ensure the address details are from an address within the country. A university, UNICEF or McDonalds are easy to find.
Step 6 - Before you click Proceed, turn on your VPN & ensure it is set to the country you are purchasing from. I use VPN Unlimited, but any should work if they have a server in the country you are purchasing from.
Step 7 - Click Proceed & your purchase will go through.
Step 8 - Turn on Xbox and your game should download. If it doesn't, it will be in your games list to select to download.
Step 9 - Enjoy your cheap games

Try a twitter search and look at latest I searched "Monzo Golden Ticket" and I got a link within 5 minutes
Before starting any steps, ensure you have:
An ISP (Internet Service Provider) these are the people, who provide you with an internet service.
A laptop, Desktop PC, Mac or other device capable of hosting a VPN and sharing the connection.
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) this allows you to fake which region you are from. I use VyprVPN.
An Xbox One (Home entertainment system), this piece of technology allows you, to play games, watch films, listen to music, etc.
An internet bank card Revolut or Monzo. Use your real home address when applying for the card.

Yes get them release day, play and send back.
Use it for all single player games and games I want to try.
When I have issues the first thing I do is Google around research and see if there is an issue.
Had you of done this and bothered to read literally the last 3 pages on here you wouldn't be asking your original question.
It's not possible anymore.
It's really sad that even after reading 10 pages you still fail to understand the fact that Microsoft completely stopped vpn method and it's not just for some people or certain specific countries but rather applicable globally.
And I believe it was just on the previous page that some members have pointed out contacting MS support regarding this and the response they got. Maybe you don't want to accept that it doesn't work anymore. Good luck keep trying.

I bought 2 Games since it stopped working, the gift card method was a pain and didn’t include all countries.
Revolut has been confirmed as NOT working, so I wouldn’t bother trying that one (edited)
Anyone got any feedback on the Monzo card? Are they any good and also do they work for buying on the Egypt store?
Egypt is the one store that frustrates me cos they have games cheap as chips, especially the Play Anywhere titles, but cannot Buy using xbox and vpn method or gift cards as there are none.
Would be very appreciative if someone could test Monzo on Egypt for me before I apply for one

Since I'm probably switching to Monzo that would help me out. I wrote this quick little guide for the guys on AVF so if it helps it helps, and if not then that's cool.
Here we are:
All you need is to download a VPN or a free trial of one for your PC\Laptop. Windscribe you can get a 50GB account for life for free just now.
Download a program called Connectify.
Start up your VPN and change the region to Argentina (Vypr VPN somehow only seems to work with the Argentina store when the VPN is set to Vietnam. About the only VPN that does this).
Start up Connectify and choose the 'Create a Wifi Hotspot' tab, look for your VPN in the internet to share box, then start up the hotspot.
Also make sure to disable any firewall on the VPN and Connectify.
Change the region on your Xbox settings to Argentina and reboot.
Go to network settings, and set up wireless network.
Then hit Y to refresh and you should see the Connectify hotspot. Then connect to it, typing in any password you may have used when setting up the hotspot on Connectify.
Go to the store.
Buy what you please with your credit or debit card, and if done right it should start downloading.
I just use first 2 lines of my own address followed by this...

I don't think Egypt will ever work until Xbox/Microsoft add that as a region for the console location
Failing that, it may need a new account setting up purely for Egypt, with Egypt as the account holder region, possibly then using a VPN you may be able to purchase from Egypt on the Microsoft store webpage, this recently worked for me with purchasing an Xbox 360 game from the USA marketplace, so you never know it may be worth a try
If it's not working for you it's eotheir not waiting the 72ish hours, your VPN or the method your sharing the VPN onto the console.
To test the console and make sure it's got the VPN connection go online and see the IP and location your console thinks it's on.
Payment method should be monzo starling or revolut.
No if you can't pay £11 for a VPN this method isn't for you.
Do some research I'm not spoon feeding.
Answers are out there spend an hour or so googling and your find everything you need.
With gift cards yes, not when using a Revolut card for regions like Argentina etc
