sorted byWhile I understand and respect your opinion but I have to add the digital price is RRP and the deal I posted is £5 cheaper than RRP. I understand digital is working out cheaper and that’s what I mentioned in the first comment too but it’s just wrong to assume everyone is in favour of buying digital. In fact with Switch and it’s limitations I don’t see much benefit on investing on building up a digital library.
Also, talking about personal reasons, I am proud of physical collection. Could’ve never fit a digital title on my shelf.

I own 627 PS4 and 134 vita physical titles (if I have not missed anything). I hardly played any of them to be honest.

I preordered it on Amazon when it was announced (gone for the CE). I think it is going to be a great game. I really like the look of Xenoblade 2 and if ever I get a Switch that will be the first game I would play on it.
Release date is April 12 2018 though so there's likely to be digital price drop on PSN by that point.... Conflicted now
I flippin loved the first Steamworld Dig and have just finished playing Steamworld Heist which is different, but equally amazing. (edited)

Well here's a limitation of the Switch - Carts are the slowest loading medium you can play a Switch game on.
I do not see any physical switch games amongst your collection, but I totally agree with your comment above.
I do not own a Switch console or game at all. Only PS4 and vita and a tad bit of XO.

Technically you're only buying a license with the physical copy too, all games are licensed, but it does circumvent potential lost access in the future.
I thought as much! So what's the ruling on things entering your collection? Is it just games you'll enjoy or the entire PS4 collection in general? Me personally, I look for memorable, good rated games that feel at home on the device
My goal is to collect a single copy of each PS4 game. My priorities are to collect the indies and region-exclusive games first. My personal preference is the JRPG/Anime based games. Pretty sure I won't be able to collect all PS4 titles but at least I will be standing somewhere in the middle.

The big issue with modern physical titles is that they are rarely complete, multiple large patches usually follow so what you end up with is effectively half a game on a disc which weakens the argument to collect physical. Don't get me wrong, I also love physical but it is certainly less appealing these days. Disc rot is also a concern for the disc based systems.
Having said all of that, post a super high res image of your collection if you can. Looks awesome!

I agree, that is why I appreciate the work some indie developer put into their releases more than what EA or other large companies do. For instance, LRG always releases the game with the latest patches on the disc. IMO, indie games get more work done on them rather than big titles (considering the amount of resources avaialble to both groups).
Switch physical collecting is even more appealing in this regard as fully patched physical indie games are even more common as many of them are being released way after the digital versions or have existed for a long time on other platforms and are now being ported in a fully complete state. Hats off to you, sir. That is what I think too. It is just cool to have physical contents. Especially with Switch, no one can complain they feel lazy switching discs. Switch is all about switching.

Digital purchases are no longer tied to a device, but to a Nintendo account.
Also your about as likely to lose your digital library as much as you might lose your physical one in a fire 🔥

You pay for the software, but you don't own it. That is as clearly as you can see. Also, digital purchases are tied to the device, aren't they? Then for some it may mean they could lose their library at some point.
They are not. Only the LRG titles are ordered based on LR numbers and some games are organised based on their cover colour and that's it. Everytime I am looking for a game I have to google it up to see what colour is the cover to find it, lol.
You are right, but when the license rights are revoked for any reason, who would be able to continue playing the game? The one who owned it digitally or the guys who had the disc?
I have home and content insurance. But seriously, I did mention I respect your opinion. I think it is wise to read T&C's always, saves you losing money to ignorance. But again, I respect your views. Yes I am old, and yes there might be a gap but what does it have to do with having an opinion?
Buy one of these and take it to the train. It is likely to be smaller than your Switch too.
