    IN ENGLISH AND DON'T SHOUT! Please.

    Heat OP. Been using the free version on my PC. Pages take slightly longer to load and pretty stable: have had the odd dropout but rare and quickly restores the connection.

    Tempted by this, I have to admit.

    Oh, and for Shouty Gaz, it hides the websites you are visiting from your Internet Service Provider (ISP), so it's a privacy tool. Also, if you connect via a server in another country you can access content that is normally only available in that country and not in the UK: Netflix is possibly the most common. You can also connect via a UK server, if you are abroad, to access UK only content, eg your TV service online.

    Hope that helps.

    I think GAZEMB was just showing his frustration at the Ops inability to describe what this is for, in the title. Putting VPN in the post would have helped a great deal.

    Then a polite suggestion would have been the way to go, dare I suggest? Rather than a post that really adds nothing at all?

    Nice offer, took the plunge, thank you OP.

    As others have stated on here the code stated by the OP has changed the discount today, its now come in at $13.50.

    However I tried the code in the expired lifetime offer thread by travis_k on HUKD and it brought it down to $12.37 which is even better. Use the code MMSAVE to get this amount.

    Easiest way to get VPN on any device is get yourself a router with VPN setup interface

    I signed up for a lifetime subscription for VPN Unlimited for £13 as my subscription with IP Vanish was about to end. So far it's doing its job. You can download the app on your Amazon Firestick and can stay connected even if you sleep the device - saves having you opening the app each time to connect like IP Vanish.

    Also works with US Netflix unlike IP Vanish.

If you find the vpn is too slow then enable the beta channel for windscribe.It switches from openvpn to ikev2. Ikev2 is just as secure and only faster.My speed without the beta was capping out at 25ish mbps. Now, I get about 50mbps.Edit: It is a pro only feature. So, you will have to get this deal. Totally worth it.

    I went for the 3 year option last time and it has worked but dropped a lot.

    After reading hellrokr's post above I changed preferences to open the beta channel. This caused the applet to notify me that there is an updated version available. I clicked on the update but didn't notice it working. Turns out it downloads in the browser you have as default and once I opened the downloaded file it updated Windscribe.

    The updated version using the beta channel is a *LOT* faster and I have not seen it drop in 2 days of heavy usage.

    As I recall you find the option in.

    BugerIcon (3 lines)->Preferences
    Select the Debug Tab and check the debug checkbox.

    Lifetime = $69 or £49.50
    Enter coupon VPNSD40 for 40% off (probably works on other vpn's too)
    Total $42.40 or £29.69

    Result. (edited)

    This is insanely cheap for 3 years of VPN... I've been using Windscribe for the past couple of weeks to redeem US digital movie codes and it's worked great, so very happy to pay for the upgrade.

    Thats what I did. The Pro account has the advantage that it is unlimited devices from unlimited locations. I have it on all my Android STBs, my laptop and both my phones. Doing this means I can use it while travelling, and the rest of the household can still use it at home.

    How did you manage that, as I’ve never got iPlayer to work while running Windscribe on any server? The BBC thing pops up saying you must be in the UK and takes you to a page explaining about VPN and location based access.

    But that policy can change if a need arises.".... (edited)

    In that case you need something like NordVPN has kill switch but it's more expensive. There are lots more other features with windscribe and i believe the firewall that windscribe use is better than a kill switch so if your wifi drops or you pc restarts you should be safe because know packets will leave your machine outside the tunnel.

    A firewall is a superior solution to a "kill switch". The "kill switch" is a snake oil feature and offers absolutely zero protection because it's a reactive measure between your VPN disconnecting and the program detecting that it did, packets can leave your computer over the default gateway (your ISP). A firewall blocks ALL connectivity outside of the tunnel. If the VPN connection drops, there is nothing that needs to be done, and not a single packet can leave the machine, since the firewall will not allow it.
    So i think a far safer solution.

    Was just about to comment that. Blatant advertising to pin something as niche as this, but surely there's a better way of going about it than just shoving it in front of everyone who opens the site/app.

    This is a good deal but the speeds when using windscribe are terrible.

    Not for me when using Beta version. I get 37mb download speed without VPN on and 35 MB with VPN on. And that is when using Dutch or Romanian servers. When using UK servers I get same speeds with VPN on as when off.

    It doesn’t work as the BBC does identify their servers.

    As someone who uses Windscribe I’m very happy with it - not the fastest but cost effective and reliable. Also, yes it’s Five Eyes before anyone piped up.

    Your chromecast is making its own connection to the internet and will be connecting to uk netflix. You will need to set up the vpn on a router and connect your chromecast to that's broadcast wifi signal for Chromecast to work. I have done that before with some vpn's and flashing the router. You can also get a computer to act as a wifi host and might be able to set it up over that.

    Torguard was selling portable routers for around 30 quid that are configurable for vpn so definitely doable
