This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Cheaper than the outlet for refurbished use code INSPIRON110 for this price.

Just trying to highlight this is now cheaper price for people in same position as me who don't need a super gaming laptop but still want to play the odd game. This is my biting point.
Also interest free with PayPal over 12 months.
You might want to use the money saved from the voucher to buy an M2 NVME SSD as this is the weak point on this laptop.
You have until the 25th to see if any other cheaper/better options may come up.

sorted byWhat are you expecting for 500 quid!? Besides, 8th gen core i5 & i7 HQ's haven't been released for laptops yet so this is as good as you're going to get regarding i5's, at the moment.
It's a 4 core processor, its a decent Graphics card, the hard drive is a bit of a let down. It still blows away the laptops my work buys which cost more than this. If all you need is word-processor and web browsing for children's homework it may be a bit overpowered.
Sorry may have been my fault but it looks like someone has fixed it, thank you to who ever that was. And I know what you mean it is a bit of maze.
If you want a significantly better screen get this one, and buy an SSD. The one you ordered has the TN panel dell got slated for, so changed the specs to having IPS as standard (edited)
On the subject of screen it's not the best but I think for this spec / price point it can be forgiven.
One thing I would say is the hard drive is pretty terrible, I would add a M.2 NVMe SSD as soon as possible...
Then go to view all configurations. Select the one that 599. Add to basket , enter code to save £100. (edited)
£599 with VAT, use code and its £499.01. Just bought one.
thanks a lot OP and every one helps out, my bad. (edited)
The link worked fine for me after I reloaded the page without the adblocker
No £100
£100 off all Inspiron 5000 & 7000 series PCs with code INSPIRON110. Hurry, ends March 30.
Verified as I went to basket before adding this deal.
It's still working just tried.
The IPS screen is only marginally better than the TN, according to reviews.
I'm having similar thoughts having seen this.
And that's the model I'm looking at that's tempting me because it is on a par - at least on paper - with the ASUS I've ordered, other than screen size. The ASUS is 17"
And that's the one point, at least, where I think the ASUS GL702 VM I've ordered will outgun the Dell. So, I'm in something of a quandary. The price difference isn't all that much - the Dell is about £100 cheaper - but is the ASUS £100 better? The screen is, I suspect, better and it is definitely bigger than this one but have Dell got a better thermal management system?
However, I've recently sent a Dell back (not this model) for having a crap screen and being of a different spec to what I ordered. It was a pain dealing with them, so I'm leery of getting involved again. One of the problems being that as a new customer I got 10% off the purchase. They would not swap the laptop for one with the correct spec, that would have been too logical and easy. Nope, I had to send it back, then get refunded and then re-order.
So when I try to re-order, they tell me I'm not a new customer and refused to accept that my returning the laptop because of their mistake should put us both back to where we had started. As I pointed out in my response, "So, you want me to buy off you again, but you want me to pay you an extra £90 for the privilege of rectifying your mistake if I do so?"
Actually, no, I've just answered my own question typing that out. I'll stick, not twist. Screw them, I'm not dealing with them again, it would be the act of a masochist and if you check their reviews on Trustpilot you'll see they get it wrong rather a lot! (edited)
Get the new dells with 8th Gen i5s.
I’ve just tried it again on the same account I used last night and it’s working fine. I typed the code in?
working on mobile too.

Thanks OP - Purchased - hopefully £30 quidco too.
STUPID QUESTION ALERT - Running Windows from the SSD will mean a faster boot time than from the hard drive - Buying and installing an SSD is straight forward, from the looks of reviews on YouTube but would I need to do a complete wipe of the machine to put Windows onto the SSD instead of the hard drive?
Thank you in advance.
Dell are a horror show at the moment. Be warned
Cheers guys.
Same here mate. Lugging it into work sounds painful though! Looks very heavy on YouTube. Hoping the 8 threads will last me longer on FM than this with just the 4.
Anyone asking will it run games. Google the game and then the graphics card. So for instance. Battlefield 1 gtx 1050. Various YouTube videos will pop up with benchmark tests. 60 FPS (frames per second) is considered good. 30 FPS is considered bare minimum. Any less and you'll notice stuttering. For me I always try and get the highest quality graphics above 30. But most people would say sacrifice quality for the smoother experience and higher FPS.
Took your advice. Purchased 🖒
(sRGB = 60% and AdobeRGB = 38%) is not good. But this is not too much of a disadvantage when gaming and surfing the web. If you are interested in editing images and videos, you might want to look somewhere else.

ive canceled this one and bought the £899 1060 one I was paying extra £108.99 for ssdso it was £608.99 so I thought the extra £291 for double ram 256gb ssd plus the i7 chip I thought it was worth it and it will be more future proofed what does everyone think?
it is white
This happened to me, they phoned and checked delivery address and then the tracking went to confirmed.
Use a package like free Partition Wizard to clone the data from the HDD to the SSD, then format the HDD ready to be used as a data drive. Use 'Migrate to SSD' option or 'Copy Disk'

The BIOS (the laptops internal control menu system) will determine which drive to boot from (you set the order of preference).
If only one drive has a bootable windows, it will scan each drive until it finds a bootable drive.
If both SSD and HDD have an operating system (ie you copied the HDD onto the SSD, but didn't blank the HDD) - the drive in the highest Bios boot order will trigger first. You can set this in the BIOS. When you switch on the laptop, there is usually a key to enter this menu (F2, F12 or Del are common).
In this menu, there is always a BOOT order option. If not already set, move the SSD on top of the HDD. It will then boot from this first.
Personally, no I wouldn't waste my time with the 7200 drive unless you wanted to expand space anyway.
According to the specs, this is a Hybrid 5400 Drive - That means its has a small SSD like area that is used as cache. In theory, this speeds the disk up anyway by moving common data to this 8GB SSD area. The 7200 drive probably would not have this.

They told me that one but i persisted. 2 agents said it was out of stock and offered me a more expensive alternative. After calling up 7 timea speaking to 7 different indian fellows, i got the manager, he redid the order at the discounted price
Just used a case screw I had. Fitted perfectly.
Dell have entirely removed this particular model from their UK site. These were probably the last of the stock to clear... Not very "cricket", but I'm not surprised that some c*ckwomble has decided to profit.
