sorted byYou certainly know about chocolate.
I find cheap chocolate like that good just for melting in cakes. It's too waxy to eat. Cadbury's chocolate might have its dodgy ingredients but it's creamy and milky and that's the appeal.
Asda SmartPrice chocolate isn't any better. And it's not real chocolate lol. It's cheap for a reason.
The milk one has basically no milk and in fact it's sooo waxy and the dark one has 50% of cocoa solids which is anyway for proper dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate needs to have better than 50% to be real dark chocolate. Minimum 70% really. 50% is considered semi sweet.
Asda's dark chocolate has 50% of cocoa solids. The rest is sugar (it's the second ingredient listed in the Asda's dark chocolate). When I think of proper dark chocolate I think of chocolate that's a bit bitter at least.
Milk chocolate well... It needs to be creamy and milky, not waxy like the Asda one is. It only has 14% of milk solids. Cadbury's milk chocolate has 23%. It's called MILK chocolate... remember.
I'd rather eat Cadbury's milk chocolate with vegetable fats than Asda's waxy travesty of milk chocolate.
Hershey's chocolate is made differently. I don't rate it. Cadbury's isn't the best but it's much better than Hershey's chocolate.
If you think Asda's bottom of the range chocolate is real chocolate then you don't know much about it.
One last thing: it's not all about percentages either... Asda's dark chocolate might have more cocoa solids than Bourneville's dark chocolate (I don't consider proper dark chocolate anything less than 70%, mind you) but the latter has most likely better quality beans. There have been compromises made somewhere if Asda's dark chocolate costs only 30p. (edited)
That’s Small Heath for you
Shops will be closed today, so hopefully there will be some monday
I was in Morrisons this morning (Scotland) and they had one little bashed up Maltese one which scanned at £1 (and should have been 50p according to online prices). For the best though I think!
Obesity and Type 2 Diabetics off chocolate produced a year ago...
Enjoy
Should have seen the savages in Small Heath Asda smashing up every easter egg in store, security didn’t bat an eye
Trust me some stores have tonnes of eggs left. Glenrothes has literally hundreds.
No he doesn't. Read my post just above.
He has an opinion, so do you. Neither of you are right, or wrong, well except you, as you don't see that is just their opinion
Yup, utter cesspit of humanity. (edited)
Thanks OP for this great deal.
Also, Hearts22 thanks for this excellent evaluation. For "Waxy travesty": You win the best laugh-out-loud comment on cheap Easter chocs ! Bravo.
Happy Easter & thanks for the outstanding deals AND fun comments to all HUKD'rs. xXx
I admit Asda smartp
rice 50% chocolate is too sweet. Lidl has good 55% choclate for 28p about
