Had an email about this from Nintendo. It’s a special demo of the game apparently, so if you aren’t sure about the game then it’s a great way to try it out first.

Probably will go cold as the 3DS is (apparently not) dying but it might help someone who isn’t sure about the game

    Yeah maybe.

I've got both and tbh the Switch really isn't a portable system in the same way as the 3DS.

Can whack the 3ds in my back pocket and whip it out for a game whenever. The Switch... I dunno. I don't tend to use it like that. Feels way too big.

Hope Nindy don't lump all their eggs in one basket so to speak. Be a mistake if they did. (edited)

heat, and thanks - you've just helped my five year old realise he doesn't "need" this (mainly because it's text heavy).

I, on the other hand, really like it. it's got an Ace Attorney vibe to it that I really like.

He's a yellow rabbit with dodgy fashion sense. What more do you need to know?

    3DS dying?

Currently selling better than at any point in the past 5 years for this time of year.

I wonder if that's because it's now so easily hackable?

7 years and the 3DS still keeps on giving. Such an impressive system

My Vita is packed with wonderful games. I'd probably pick it over my 3DS tbh, love both consoles though.

This may be because I’m a girl though and I prefer games aimed at such. My favourite game was probably NFS: Most Wanted, though after seeing the graphics of the Xbox edition I don’t see how I managed to put up with it.Minecraft was second as I had never been able to freely play it with others before (PE didn’t have it originally, couldn’t get used to PC, Xbox 360 wasn’t connected to WiFi).Also the Vita was annoying if you had one downloaded game because it would take up all the room on the memory card, and since you could only use special ones for the Vita you would end up having to make a difficult decision of whether to remove it because you needed the storage for save data for other games.

Yeah, I bought a 32gb memory card when I first got the Vita and still struggled for space sometimes.

That was largely because I kept installing games free with Playstation Plus though, once I let it lapse it was fine.

Most of the games I have on it now are wonderful indie titles like TxK, Spelunky, The Binding of Isaac, Rogue Legacy, Luftrausers, etc etc.

Lots of a few classic PS1 games too, some PSP, it's a cracking console really.

I do love my 3DS, and it has a great library too, but you can fill a Vita with great games for not a lot of money. Mine is packed now, moreso than the 3DS. Still, there's room in life for both!

Nah I don’t think so, the vita (which I love!) is still getting new games and that was abandoned ages ago, the 3DS has a massive install base so third parties will be still release games for a long time.

But then why did they stop with the Wii, which was more popular?

Because a direct successor came out and it was quite behind the times. The 3DS doesn’t really have the same competition that the Wii did. Only real alternative to it is the switch which is quite expensive in comparison and not as portable as the 3DS

I only ever had a 4gb one as I didn’t get mine at release and it was too expensive and too hard to get one when I did get the Vita (FIFA 15 bundle I think? Actually one of the first purchases I made because of HUKD).

3DS is much easier to buy for as there isn’t any specifics. And it comes with one that I found to not be a problem with storage anyway.

Price-wise for games, I’ll agree that the Vita is cheaper but 3DS isn’t far behind now.

Games-wise, 3DS I had loads for. Vita I only had 4 for (I had 5 but lost a game cartridge for one because the stitching in the case where they were put came lose).

I wish they would release another Vita, or that Microsoft would release their equivalent for one. Vita is the only handheld console I know to have a decent car game (wish the Switch had been considered for NFS).

It's a shame Sony treat the PS Vita like an over glorified PS4 remote. Wasted potential.
