Looks like Amazon is getting into 4K content in a big way! Avengers in 4K and HDR is available at £17.99, which is a huge discount over the 4K Blu Ray on Amazon. I couldn't find this film in 4K on Apple or Google, so it looks like this is unique to Prime Video.

Great price for a epic superhero film!

Expensive considering no sell on value.
I’d rather pay the extra and have the physical disc.
Better quality and actual resale value. (edited)

For the life of me, I can't understand why this thread is cold- Avengers is the biggest film of the year, at the lowest price available anywhere in the UK on 4K digital or disc (including the 4K Blu Ray on Amazon)!!

What's more impressive is that it is available BEFORE the DVD/ Blu Ray release on September 3rd for only a couple quid more than the 1080p version!

    What am I missing? (edited)

If it's not too late, I've just purchased this and it's coming up on my TV as HDR...

I can't comment on the bitrate but I accidentally watched it all last night and thought it was excellent picture and audio quality. Only DD5.1 of course but I'll be able to compare the image once the UHD disc comes out.

    Yeah, I loved this.

Why no 4k on streaming for this?
  7. Daytrader's avatar
Lol at 18 for a digital only copy and low bitrate and low quality audio probably, oh and no resale possible after you watched it.

Agree though this isn't a good example of their typical pricing. I bought the new Spiderman homecoming movie the day of release in UHD and it was a lot cheaper than this.
  9. TylerDurdenUK's avatar
Quite a few other 4K films are available to buy for < £10. I got Spiderman Homecoming for £5 (well £7 less £2 credit I had)
Its about time amazon had some good 4K deals, still not quite as good as the itunes deals around though

Streaming will not bring the same visual and audio quality as having a blu ray disc. I know it's something everyone could know by now but sadly not. People will be misled.

Does this mean you wont be commenting in the iTunes threads any more? Awww man, we are going to miss your cut and paste comments over there! Your trolling has earnt you celebrity status, you actually have a thread on reddit dedicated to you and someone has even created a meme!!!

What you say makes no sense at all! Why would they provide a 4K version to some and not others? It could be that the film's HDR is processed in HDR10 or Dolby Vision and your hardware doesn't support one of them. But it is definitely is a 4K HDR movie and has been verified by several:

I'm pleased it worked for you - what equipment?

It still doesn't take away from the fact Amazon & Google 4k listings are terrible (click on the deal link - does it say HDR?). Finding 4k, then discovering whether it is HDR and if Dolby Vision / HDR10 is a minefield. As a zillion internet threads on Amazon / Roku / Panasonic problems will show you.

It failed for me on Roku & Panasonic as I clearly stated. My TV will do HDR10 but not DV.
