To everyone who says you don't need the Mac address for the IPTV app you're wrong, the app allows you to go the their website and upload a m3u playlist (via the website) into your TV using the Mac address so it knows where to send it.

Mine is under network status near the ip address etc. The TV has a Mac address, I don't think you have to activate it. It may be written on the back of the TV also.

Any piece of hardware that allows you to connect to the internet will have a mac address, I have been in IT for over 20 years and I have never heard of anyone having to activate this, it is just the hard coded address of your network card/device.

Sorry to bother you but I have been using Siptv for a year. The lg tv mac address has changed but when I go into app to change it, it says its an invalid address. Have you any advice please? I have not changed anything, wondering if a sw update to tv did something.

A MAC address is the unique hardware address (like a serial number) of a network card. If you need to "activate" it then this will just mean registering your TV's network card MAC address with the IPTV application you are trying to use. It should give you a link somewhere in the application to do this. (edited)

    Read some of the above.

I Googled it, you just need to find your MAC address and type it into the IPTV website page so they can allow your device/tv to use their network. They do use the term activate but all they are doing is adding your mac address to an accept/white list I suspect.

Ah right i understand a bit better.
That Smart IPTV app is really bad mate it's such a pain in the backside to setup.
I set it up on my daughter's but I didn't have to pay it was a free app.
Double check you've downloaded the right app as theres a few on there , you don't have to use that app either.
Type into the search "IPTV" and you get a list there's not many but they're are all pretty similar but like I said they really are not nice apps to use.
I think you would be better setting it up on a firestick

If you've bought your iptv sub, on an LG or Samsung TV do this:

Download SmartIPTV app to your TV. Its free for 7 days, its £5.49 or something after.
When you open the app, the instructions are on the right hand side. This shows your MAC address.
Go to siptv.eu/myl…st/ and enter your mac address, I believe it all needs to be in capitals although it's shown in lower case on tv.
In "url" to the right of the MAC address, copy and paste the link your iptv provider has sent you. This will look like a website address (it'll start with http:) and will have "username=" and "password=" in the line.
To the right of that, click "save online" and select "UK" in the drop down box, I think default is USSR.
Then, click the I'm not a robot box and click send. Restart the app (go back to normal TV and then into SmartIPTV app again) and it should work. If you like it, buy the app after a week.

Just go back to watching notmal TV (or open netflix/iplayer/anything else which you need to press the source button for) and then go back to the SmartIPTV app. Or turn the TV off and back on again. Let us know if it's working once you've done this.

Get rid of SmartIPTV if your using a Samsung TV it's getting worse everyday look into SmartSTB you get a free 7 day trial with it then like £2 a month it's 10x better when running IPTV through it

No one has said that. We have just said you don't need to activate your mac address because such a thing doesn't exist.

Is it The mac address of my TV on my tv setting menu! The menu that is all about my tv. Is that the mac address required or is it the mac address on the iptv smart app ? I'm also looking to give up my sky q as its expensive! I was hoping for a free trial with all the channels you get from sky q,
