    So, the answers are:

    40 to 80
    42
    70
    65 to 70
    90 or 110
    58 to 95 or 40 to 120

Well done HUKDers. Stellar answers to a monumentally stupid question.

Maybe you should work out the real question to the answer?

    Bakatcha questions:
    a) How miles per gallon (or per litre) can you achieve in that car under normal driving conditions?
    b) How much is the petrol per gallon, or per litre, when you fill the tank with £10.00 worth of petrol?

Too many variables but using average mpg on Honest John of 41.4mpg suggest around 70 miles at current fuel price of 127.74p

If it helps, my old 07 plate Fiesta with a 1.25l engine (16v) achieved roughly 65-70 miles on average on £10 worth of fuel.

Bear in mind I haven't driven for several years - the last time I drove was back in 2012.

Big difference if you live rural or live in a city centre and regularly sit in traffic, I live semi rural and could 90 miles out of £10 of fuel in a Vauxhall agila 1.2, but that was getting into 5th gear at 30mph and no hard acceleration.

My Octavia 1.6 diesel can hit 70mpg so can mow get at least 110 miles out of £10, it is all about driving style, if you leave a suitable gap from the car in front and plan ahead then you will not need to use the brake pedal as much or shift down as often as you can keep momentum. I usually buy £50 of fuel which almost fills the tank and about 600 mile range.

Absolutely zero, you'll need the rest of the car as well as the engine!

What roads are you driving on and how is your driving style, its not always about miles per gallon but more about smiles per gallon

At a guess between 40 and 80 miles, depending on driving style, conditions, speed, traffic congestion etc. Etc.

There are four different engine and gearbox combinations that are 1.4 litres in capacity in Ford Fiesta models from the last 15 years, with reported fuel economy ranging from 34mpg for the 1.4 petrol with 4 speed auto to 56mpg for the 1.4 diesel manual.

£10 at £1.30 per litre is 1.7 gallons so that's between 58 and 95 miles average depending on engine. When you also factor in location (congestion, terrain, speeds) and driving habits it could reasonably be anywhere between 40 and 120 miles.
