720p at 25fps,wait is it still 2006,sorry i still dont see the value in this.£21 more than last year, but less footy matches.ok you get other sports too, darts cricket,f1,etc but if your only interested in the footy, you paying for stuff you dont want.ok so nowtv did announce in november 2018 that they were going FHD for the sports in January of 2019,guess what it didnt happen.then they announced it would happen for the new footy season august 2019,but you will have to pay an extra premium for it(,we,ll see if this pans out.)there is no mention that this season,s pass entitle,s you access to a FHD 1080 stream either, than its just pure speculation at the moment.also is the FHD stream that is promised a 1080/25 fps stream or 1080/50fps stream?if the latter, then if you are a skyq or sky hd customer how does this pricing structure affect you?a skysports fhd sports and entertainment pack costs on average 42 pounds month(please feel free to quote what you guys pay if its less).but you could get deals on entertainment passes with cinema and this sports deal that if full hd would then work out a lot cheaper, making there skyq or sky hd package uncompetitive surely?what are your thoughts on this guys?so the cynical side of me thinks this FHD aint gonna happen unless the premium they add is so hefty it wont compete or hurt their current skyq/hd business model.this sports deal might seem value to some, but not to others like myself, but hey its your money, spend it how you want.me i prefer more bang for my hard earned buck. Been waiting for this deal! HOT!
£20/month for sky sports. - Share with a friend (watch 2 screens at same time) making it £10/month, same price as a round in the pub! 1080p likely to be coming this season. In time for the ashes too!

Not a great deal when you can get weekly passes for £2.99 each at present (and frequently)

    cdkeys.com/top…ass

May be more hassle buying them (plus don't know if you can use more than one per account) - a new account takes a couple of minutes to create. Works out much better value even if you buy 40 of them (£120) - probably less unless you'll watch any game that's on.

I have never had a problem with the picture quality a lot of people mention, yes is 720p but a lot of people get hung up on that number. 1080p has been promised for what seems like years now so wouldn't hold my breath on it coming anytime soon.

Been waiting for this deal to come up as I missed it last season. Great vfm if you ask me, not sure what picture quality problems people have, its always very decent for me. Baffled by the comments about less football than last year - the new deal is more PL matches than before and they still have 1st pick every weekend.

And its still not possible to watch football from the other major broadcaster at all unless you sign up for their overpriced broadband.

Bein sports, watch any of the games involving your team, rather than stuck with sky's super sunday offerings of Watford vs Stoke.

Or of course any of the IPTV streams.

Hot deal regardless compared to taking out a sky subscription.

or if you live in a area/property where you can't get Sky TV reception, don't want to pay the compulsory £20 a month for Sky's entertainments channels or don't think paying extra to watch the same games at a higher resolution is worth it. All three apply to me.

Wow, and then Sky wonder why so many people use illegal streams instead of pay these rip off prices. The illegal streams are better quality if you know where to look!
  13. Laurie_Ballard's avatar

or footybite (search using google) for free and full HD

Until it stops working like they all seem to eventually, anything illegal will stop working at some point and you then scamper round to find the next thing. Plus you need to factor in VPN costs as you would have to be mental to access illegal streams using your ISP supplied IP address.

For £48 a month, I just don’t want the drama and faff of using illegal tosh which is going to be rubbish quality for the most part and will eventually stop working, probably right before the next F1 race.

    From the FAQs.
"You can add up to 6 devices and watch on 2 devices at the same time – unless you've only got a Sky Sports Mobile Month Pass, in which case you can only watch on one smartphone at a time."

Totally within their terms of service to watch 2 devices at the same time.

    - If you think this is cheeky, you should see some of the Netflix deals posted on here!!

But Amazon had those games last season as well?

Amazon won the writes to screen 20 games a season last year, but December 3rd this year will be the first time that they will actually screen a live Premier League game in the UK. The good news is that all 20 of their live games will be in December, so you will be able to sign up to a months trial of Amazon Prime and watch them from free (or at no additional cost if you've already got Amazon Prime)
  26. Undisclosed2's avatar

split between 2 people, this is a good deal. yeah, more expensive than last year with less games but now you have more channels. so The Ashes, Golf, F1 would also be included along with Championship games. Theres only so much Sky can sell it for. Most people have Prime so the xmas games will be covered via that. Its only BT games that are not covered. If you have EE, you get BT sports for free.

If you want a legal service in the UK, then I think NowTv offers very good value for sports, movies and entertainment. passes are relatively cheap to come by, plus no 12 month contract so can dip in and out of services as and when.

nothing is going to be cheap as illegal services so comparing prices to them is pointless

so long as sharing will be allowed, then I think people can set up some really good entertainment stuff, for not much money. share netflix, share prime,, share now tv, share youtube premium, share spotify. love live the share!!!!!!!

The point I was making is that people are happy to pay £20pm for NowTV sports which is 720p but you could get it it via Sky direct for less per month if you get one of the deals they offer. The difference between streaming this at 720p and watching it 4K via sky is like night and day.

Personally what I do is cancel sky all together and go via the now tv sports route not tied into any contract yeah it’s 720p but that’s fine by me plus bt sport will be available on now tv soon. I mentioned cost because on here it’s what is a good deal I get 4 months sky cinema for 7.99 on now tv and pick up cheap codes for sky sports

Paid for this last season and the quality was shocking, the amount of ghosting when the ball moves was ridiculous.

Took the 5 mins to get set up on IPTV for a year this season, have watched every game so far in crisp Full HD on the American NBC channels including the 3pm kick offs, also avoiding the annoying Sky studio panel. No VPN needed, all working directly on my Smart TV.

Refuse to give Sky any more huge amounts for such a poor service with picture quality from 15 years ago.

The problem is premier league/premiership, which in my view are two different things and will mean two different things unless clarified. I am sorry that I have upset him/her but the statement made was untrue.

See I think that is maybe where you went wrong. I see the English premiership or premier league used a lot. Different phrases or terms are used at times regardless of what is "official" or not. But yeah, you were wrong on this one I'm afraid. The statement was perfectly true.

Can have multiple devices and two playing at the same time. I share this with a friend, so £100 for 10 months of sky sports on multiple devices is a pretty great deal. 720p / 25 fps is more than serviceable, especially when the alternative is handing out a small fortune or streaming for free where the quality is usually worse, awkward to work with and unreliable.

I've never had an issue with buffering, it sounds like it's a broadband issue. I use BT infinity.

Sky Sports PL and Football for £18 a month is a decent deal if you already have a Sky subscription, and are not interested in the other sports that come with this pass. For those of us who don't already have Sky TV it's effectively £40 a month however, as we would also have to subscribe to the compulsory £22 entertainment park. I get the best of those channels, and Sky Sports mobile for free (via stacked McDonalds monopoly passes), so that's a non starter as far as I'm concerned.
