You shouldn't rely on this to accurately torque bolts up to a set figure instead you should use a torque wrench. The figures quoted here are more for telling you what torque this can go to to undo bolts etc (edited)

Obviously It's not just wheels. Though, as most people now take their car to the dealer to change a pair of wiper blades, I can see where the misunderstanding occurs.

Still in limbo on these. Everything short of the dewalt dcf 899 seems to struggle in all the videos I've seen. Removing a just torqued up wheel bolt is a different story to removing one that's been in for 2 years.

True. at least 4ah battery is lot more useful than a standard 2ah battery.

Amazing spec for the price. With the different torque setting this will be ideal for building work as well. Brilliant for decking that require long coach screws and fixing bolts in concrete.

Cracked off two of the front wheels on my Octavia with the 400nm setting. Did have to persevere for a little while, and I've never had the wheels off the car

Well done! Been waiting for this for ages. Shame they force you to buy with the battery and charger though as a lot of us already have them. But still a good deal

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like it's essentially a clone of the 20v draper stormforce?

I've really always considered these things were intended for undoing rather than fastening. When ever I have used one for car wheels, when it came to putting them back on I only ever gave them a few quick blips with this to get them on their way then did the actually tightening by hand.

Some of us, who know our ways around cars/bikes/trucks actually like this kind of thing, some even create extra space just to store these types of goodies.

Got mine but be quick as I don't think there is much stock. At lidl for 8.15 as its less than a minutes walk from my house (yeah humble brag i know ;-) ) and there was only one in the basket and 2 of the mains version. So not sure if someone had been in before me or they are just testing the water to see how popular they are but if you want one get there asap.

Missed out last year, been waiting for this deal for so long I literally checked lidls website weekly! Only saw the post today, went to ashton and Denton store, both sold out.. felt gutted but then went to openshaw and were three left. Got one, pretty chuft, working on my old golf is a hobby so I don't need a really expensive tool. Looks like it'll do the job and has 3 year warranty. Glad it's come as bundle with the 4ah battery

Same tool different colour, draper one is more expensive around £66 for just tool body can be modified to use parkside batteries
Parkside one is cheaper comes with a case, battery, charger, a few sockets

It won't fit into most spaces and a ratchet spanner is pretty quick so for me it's overkill, if I ever decide to erect a barn I'll get one tho lol

Where as I and a lot of my friends have been building and modifying cars and bikes for the last 20 years and have used/needed one countless times. Thankfully I have access to borrow a good one.

Impact drivers work but a ¼” hex shank isn’t that strong you’re asking for it to break and it will push a driver to hit maximum performance, the ½” square is so much stronger and removes the wobble and flex you get with adapters. It is one of those “it will work but you shouldn’t if you can” situations.

If you do anything more than pads once every 2 years then these are invaluable for automotive maintenance, all suspension take 1/8 of the time and effort with a proper impact.

Body only would be nice but I know why they have done it as a kit as using the smaller 2AH batters with the single layer of cells are not best suited to their current draw.

Agreed as I'm trying to standardise on the batteries. I think the 4AH …Agreed as I'm trying to standardise on the batteries. I think the 4AH battery and charger are about £35 and the battery on its own is £25. Thus the price of the wrench itself is only £25! Same with the cordless circular saw as that's about £50 or £60 as that's not sold bare. I think its due to them not having an online shop where they could easily sell the bare versions as they do in other countries.

Considering the batteries are readily available sperately in most of the stores 4ah and 2ah .. I do wonder why they've started. Although with the frequency that they offer these tools nowadays they've perhaps downsized the number they buy in. They did have the push on the performance tools a while ago which seemed to be a wet squib. Yeah in Germany you can buy on line which is handy

has anyone tested this? not sure if the corded 500nm would be a better buy

Doubtful they've never been on sale in the uk before. Corded/air will always win on power. But if you don't have 240v where you're working, it's going to be a long day. I have the cordless angle grinder, convenient but if i need to grind the beejesus out of something i get the corded out

Yep, I've got an old scrapper in my yard that's pretty rusty, set torque to 300 and the wheel nuts whizzed off in 2 seconds. This will be really helpful when I'm refreshing suspension components

Never owned an impact wrench before but mine has a hole straight through on the drive, is yours the same? Also the collar just above it has a big gap and spins, just making sure this is how they are supposed to be

Mines has the same hole and the picture on the website confirms this I thought it might have had a small metal indented ball, similar to ratchets, but ours are as they are supposed to be. (edited)
