This offer is open to the first 10,000 eligible customers that satisfy the terms and conditions.
The Offer is valid only between 21 October, 2019 and 31 October, 2019 , 11:59 PM BST.

Seems a bit harsh....
That’s probably exactly why it did work! These type of offers are designed to entice occasional shoppers or those that haven’t ordered anything for ages to start spending again! (edited)
We place about 10-20 orders with Amazon every month and this promo code worked on our account.

the difficulty is to find anything sold by amazon themselves as they don't sell much these days. mostly 3rd party seller or amazon fulfilled stuff that are of good value.
Usual story. They have no need to incentivise you.
For anyone that this didn't work for Amazon are currently running 2 other promos (did both last night):
1: £5 account credit for £50 Amazon Gift Card purchase
2: £6 account credit for £80 Amazon 'Top-Up' purchase

I buy frequently on my account for home, my missus' no purchase for one year+.
No £5 for both accounts.
Account specific in these cases are pushing out loyal regular customers. Terrible way of doing this or giving the loyal customers a jurassic Park tone...... Ah ah ah.... You didn't say the magic word.
It says only 10,000 will get the offer so I would assume you have to use it sooner rather than later or lose it? Am I getting this wrong? Gutted that I ordered £50 with if stuff 2days ago & missed this!!! Thanks Amazon...(y)
Thousands suckered in to try the code.
Ebay do this all the time if you haven't used your account for a while. I've received a few account specific discount codes from them.
This code only came to light as the OP received the email or found out about it.
