so in short:
1: Download unlimited vpn extension on chrome and sign up (activate email for access to Ukrainian servers)
2: connect to the Ukrainian servers and log in to your rockstar account
3: go to socialclub.rockstargames.com/sto…ial and choose which version you want (the price should be ₴899.00 for standard edition)
4: purchase with a fee-free card to avoid charges


the game isn't region locked and the single player etc will be in english providing your launcher etc is in english

My friends had similar issues with GTA V with the rockstar launcher. On launch the download was really really slow, patches also where 10s of GB whereas on steam it was only a couple.

I'll let you know when it's finished downloading this 113GB beast of a download . Don't see why not as I just used my normal UK Rockstar account , think the only thing that changes is the prices on the store front.

The launcher isn't in your browser, so that won't help - you need to VPN your PC's connection not just your browser. I use Winscribe and there is a separate exe to run to do that ... not sure about other VPNs.

Guys, you can simply use a FREE browser VPN, that is way easier than have one for your Rockstar Games app.
You can buy the game via browser, with same procedure, setting UKR servers, and completely ignore the app.
I used Free VPN on Firefox, and worked great.
I can confirm it's not region locked, and you don't need a VPN to play.

PayPal didn't work but used Visa debit card.
Desktop pc, chrome, uVPN chrome extension.
1. Connect to the Ukrainian servers and log in to your rockstar account
2: Go to socialclub.rockstargames.com/sto…ial and choose which version you want (the price should be ₴899.00 for standard edition) but don't click buy now just yet!
3. Disconnect from Ukraine server, click buy now and use your card

So I can confirm PayPal WILL NOT work. But I'm downloading the game right now on Rockstar Launcher this is how it worked for me (no extra fee):

1. Get uVPN extension for Google Chrome chrome.google.com/web…=en
2. Connect to Ukraine Servers in Chrome Browser
3. Go onto: socialclub.rockstargames.com/sto…ial
4. Click the edition you want on "purchase now" (I chose standard)
5. Enter your details (I didn't change country or anything)
6. Now here's the important part; KEEP your uVPN ON whilst you process payment with your visa/mastercard debit/credit card.
7. It should go through and you should receive the receipt in your email and you can download

Hope this helps.

Again PayPal and Paysafe WON'T work. And it won't double charge you; if an error comes up the payment didn't go through so don't worry.

Why would they police VNP purchases, they can't even offer basic protection against cheats and exploits online in GTA5 for the last 4 years

FWIW I personally hate consoles these days and I consider the XB1 and PS4 to have been a complete disaster. The only console I've felt any affinity with in this generation has been the Switch. (edited)

I was trying all kinds of things with the Unlimited VPN Chrome Extension and logging in to Rockstar/Social . . . for hours, all of them failed.

I did the same as had failed previously, but entered a zip code of 02000 before I switched back to UK and it worked, YE HA !!!

Why would you get banned from buying the game from the official developer's store?

What's wrong with buying from another region? Are you concerned that Rockstar doesn't get £54.99 and gets £28 instead? This is just wrong, part of the £54.99 are UK/EU taxes and distribution comission/royalties.

Rockstar still gets the FULL MONEY they want per game sold (again, not £54.99). The only entities being hurt by this are the EU/UK (no VAT) and all the distributors/"middlemen" affected by distributing the game in the UK (no commissions/cut per unit sold). (edited)

Finally fixed my freezing issues, anyone suffering them same problem follow the instructions here. I used Process Lasso instead of the recommended BES in step 3 and works flawlessly so far.

Just did this method earlier today after someone mentioned it on an earlier thread. Got the special edition for 899UAH.

More wondering if I can play on UK servers with no issues?

Try using this with the Browser VPN active and see if it shows UK or Ukraine, it's probably showing UK and that's why it's failing.
You'll therefore need to install a VPN that has a Ukraine location. (edited)

Is it safe to pay with paypal?

Oddly, the browser version of the store, didn't show Paypal. I don't know about the app.
I have a rechargeable postal Visa Card, that is pretty common here in Italy, so I don't have the fear to use my main bank account.
