Buying robux on Roblox - question

Posted 1st Dec 2019
Just a quick question on which I would be really grateful for help. My son wants to buy Robux on roblox today when the game updates but the highest option on Android is £9.99. Does anyone know how to get up the £18 -£99.99 option available on PC on android which give you better deals rather than buying multiple £9.99 options. Thank you.

I feel that my kids are getting slightly aggressive if they don’t get Roblox or can’t play so I stopped it all together what I am not sure about if its the right thing to do so some opinion would be very helpful.

Hi Greg, to be honest, there's two things to consider, firstly ingame purchases with Robux and secondly the game types and the moods they cause.

It's great that Roblox is free to play, and it all comes down to time vs money for ingame progress. Most ingame purchases are obviously non essential to adults but exciting to kids. My advice is to tell your kids to earn their progress the good old fashioned way, with skills and brains, and besides they're on their computers to enjoyably waste some time, not to bankrupt mom and dad. On most occasions i have caved in and purchased some items or passes, they've forgotten about the purchase in a matter of days. Best to join the game creators group or look for twitter codes for free ingame items and boosts. One thing that does help me cave in and spend occasionally is when the kids have been playing the game for over a week then i feel happier about supporting the game creator with a few quid.

Secondly, game types and moods. In Roblox there is only really a few categories of rinse and repeat game types...
Obstacle course games (obbys) which can be fun, frustrating, satisfying, but short lived.
Simulator games which involve slowly grinding up the levels through upgrading weapons, backpacks, pets, and rebirthing. Progress is usually saved. Can be monotonous after an hour of play but mostly frustration free. These game types usually have free item codes on twitter and for group members.
Tycoon games, a lot don't save progress, some do. These involve building conveyor belts to generate money and then using it to build houses and get items. Short lived fun of usually a few hours for this game type.
Outside of these game types is popular stuff like Jailbreak and The Streets but these although fascinating and impressive, are incredibly frustrating, competitive and awfully pay to win. Satisfaction is usually about trolling other users to get ahead, i take my hat off to anybody who can play these games and not see red! They make Call of Duty Warzone look tame.

As an alternative I'd highly recommend most of the Lego games, they are mostly frustration-free, have local co-op modes, lots of fun, with loads to explore and freely unlock giving weeks and months of fun (Marvel Superheroes 1, City Undercover, Lord of the Rings). Definitely caused much less upset than Roblox has.

Ultimately, computer time should be about mutual fun amongst players that is challenging and stimulating, not an overload of mindless grinding and trolling. Sometimes i think Roblox is to kids what Facebook is for teens and adults. Has the potential to be healthy but has some really nasty elements to it.

Ideally obviously would be limiting computer time and getting out and about to parks and clubs but winter weather and lockdowns, as well as certain aforementioned computer games, are sending all our moods upside down. So yeah, be wary of frustrating game types, don't cave in and spend on ingame rubbish, look for free item codes, limit screen time, and get those big jackets and welly boots on and get outside for a good daily walk and get some Vitamin D.

Don’t buy robux straight from ipad, login on safari Roblox.com, click on robux (right hand side) and buy there, you get more for your money and also gives the option to buy higher package deals

The post reads "the highest option on Android is £9.99" followed by the "Does anyone know how to get up the £18-£99.99 option available on PC on Android" which suggests you want the options available on PC to be available on Android. There's no mention of iOS in your post.

Sorry, in this case I have no idea if there's an option for any Robux value greater than £9.99 to be purchased on iOS

You could just purchase from the website or get a gift card and use that on the website? (edited)

I think that's a bit extreme... you as a parent can of course make that decision but have you considered making an agreement with her that she can only have so much Robux (if any) as and when you say she's allowed, as well as restricting her game time. Plenty of parental control apps exist if she abuses that rule and there's built-in parental controls on Roblox if you don't want your daughter to chat to other children or play certain games etc...
