Brill specifications here, featuring an AMD Ryzen 5 quad core cpu. Plenty of storage space due to the 512GB SSD being in there. 8GB RAM and a Full HD screen too. Comes with a years subscription of Office 365.
It's not a gaming laptop, but this CPU uses Vega 8 graphics, which will allow you to run games on lower settings regardless. So good for work and some play

sorted byThe hp actually has twice the storage.
Can anyone advise if I'm missing something?
Edit: as I'm getting likes on this post I thought I should update:
So far the differences are:
(the previous linked lenovo laptop has:)
-Half storage size (256 vs 512)
+backlit keyboard
+fingerprint scanner
+better build (metal vs plastic body). (edited)
Slim, fast, great IPS display, quiet fan with no overheating issues...
My only gripe is the keyboard not being the greatest. The enter button is a bit small, which can be annoying. The trackpad is good though, with physical click buttons.
All things you can live with at £369.
Which makes this a very hot deal indeed.
It may even be hotter than my Lenovo S540 deal, I’m afraid to say....
Does anyone have any idea if this has a good build quality? Is the body all metal? Backlit lighting? Fingerprint scanner? (edited)
Hi Gowf (what does that mean anyway?).
I've just taken delivery of the lenovo laptop and I have to say that the metal build quality is AMAZING, as is the thin bezel and the overall design.
So far the differences are:
-Half storage size (256 vs 512)
+backlit keyboard
+fingerprint scanner (i have no need for this)
+metal build.
Personally, I'm happy I paid extra £60 for the above.
Thanks for the deal.
I’d pay £100 to upgrade my hp Ryzen 2500u, 8GB, 256Nvme from plastic to metal. I’d pay someone at least £20 to upgrade me to a backlit keyboard. From experience, I would consider the £432 laptop the better value for the spec. This particular deal is also hot!
Plastic build, not backlit and no fingerprint scanner.
Unfortunately these are the trade offs for getting these specs for such a reasonable price.
Upgraded mine to this 16GB (2x8GB) today - amazon.co.uk/gp/…CGG. Took 10 mins - worth checking the manual h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg…992 first
So i rang ao.com, and they directed me to contact HP first. I rang HP and with a support technician did a few checks. Shut down laptop. Press and hold power for 20 seconds (to discharge any static) then holding esc on start up to go into system menu, and then into diagnostics to test the battery , I did explain that I had already tried this via the HP support assistant installed on my laptop and the battery "passed". The lady then went through how I used it, I explained that it was light usage, some netflix, some browsing, all on dimmed screen and battery saver power options.
She said that, that is what is advised to do to improve battery life, then told me to contact ao.com (within 30 days of purchase and explain that I had spoken with HP support and was directed back to Ao to get a refund, replacement. I said that I would do the battery calibration and then try the laptop again and see if it were any better and if not I would contact ao.com and proceed with trying to get a new unit ( I would like to keep it, as at the price I paid (£369) nothing else comes close, but I do want battery life to be a min of 8 hours light usage).
If anyone needs the telephone numbers I rang, feel free to ask.
I will update again once I have tested the laptop after battery calibration and turning off any apps that may be running in the back ground. (edited)
Also £63 cheaper which for me is worth it
I know it is, I was calling out the other commenter. They said there is an Ideapad with Ryzen 7 at Curry's for £360,but didnlt provide a link
The higher the number the better
TCB is 1% for all purchases using a code. Mine tracked at £3.99.
I’m not sure I believe anything they say.
Mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday, didn’t happen. AO claimed DPD hadn’t picked it up which is ludicrous since there was no indication of it even being ready to be collected according to the tracking. They then told me it would be delivered today; that’s not happening either it seems as the tracking now says DPD only has “details of my parcel“. And, yes, I paid for next day delivery which now looks like it’s going to be next week delivery.
Absolutely pathetic.
I put a iso of windows 10, set it to uefi and gpt, NTFS & used f9 to boot from it, and did a complete new clean copy (under advanced)
Using CrystalDiskMark BEFORE 800MB/S, AFTER 17/1800MB/S
Sure there is plenty of youtube videos if anyone is a bit lost. (edited)
ikea.com/gb/…32/
Link?
Just looked on site -cant find it? Only on I found near is £499
It`s not £399, it`s £369 and you can even get another £3-99 off with TCB. (edited)
in a word YES
I am currently playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 on it. Admittedly with some tweaking of the settings. But I'm more than happy with it. (edited)
I bought a laptop from ao.com last summer. Changed my mind about it (it only had 4gb of memory and I was going to upgrade it). Never opened the box that it arrived in. I was on the phone with them for an hour repeatedly telling them it's not been opened as they tried taking money off the refund. Ended up having to deal with the manager.
My advice is to avoid returns even if you don't open it. If you do, be prepared to lose some money.
I'm holding out until the New Year sales for a new laptop, but this is tempting. (edited)
They do deliver to click and collect in NI. Mine is ordered to local store. Just not to home address for some bizarre reason. More weird as ive had white goods delivered to home from AO a few times...including in the last 6 months or so. They use BON delivery as a local courier.
Had a quick nosey around when I was upgrading the RAM. There's empty space in the case which would fit a 2.5" disk, but I couldn't see a SATA connector. There's an unconnected ribbon cable port nearby marked HDD. Based on the service manual I think it needs a bracket and a cable - the part numbers are listed so you might be able to find them.
There's only one M.2 port for storage and it's filled with the NVme SSD (Intel ssdpeknw512gb). If replacing, you won't fit a module longer than the existing 80mm one in there. (edited)
This is a slightly weird comment. Is the Irish Sea a "non existent border anyway?"
Let me know how you get on trying to drive to GB when you reach the coast. Are you expecting P&O or Stena to ferry you across for free?
Same goes for couriers.
Of course it's easier to get something from Ireland... If you're in Ireland! To pretend otherwise is bonkers.
2GB of this laptop's system RAM is always dedicated to GPU use and a further 50% of the remainder (I think) is dynamically shared between CPU and GPU. Partly why I decided to upgrade the RAM. (edited)
It is on the list, I checked two days ago.

Are you using a mouse
Checked event viewer and found the critical error code. A cursory search online reveals the cause likely to be conflicting high def audio driver. Disabled AMD high def audio in dev manager.
Already past the 30 days as got it during the Black Friday promotion. I'd rather keep it as I really like it so I'm hoping to find a fix. (edited)
