PSN code from Shopto.net ‘already redeemed’?

Am I doing something wrong with these codes? I bought 2x 12 month PSN codes from shopto.net in November for £30ish each.
I’ve just gone to try and use them tonight to top up their membership dates, and both codes say they are already redeemed.

Nobody at our end has had access to them except me, and they’ve definitely not been redeemed by anyone here. The expiry date on our account is still March 2020z Am I missing something?

    I got the year's PSN for £30 deal last black friday iirc and activated it straight away without issue... but thanks for highlighting this... Spent a small fortune on shopto over the years but will be avoiding them completely going forward if this is how they treat their customers

    Mine is exactly the same issue, bought two, both used and they’ve ignored all contact.
    You message them on fb and they block you. Ignore the tickets via their website. I’ve waited two weeks and now opened PayPal dispute. I’m disgusted with them, will never spend another penny there.

    Oh if you leave trust pilot reviews they can respond within an hour, with a response pretending they will help you. (edited)

    Good luck. I’m at the stage now I don’t even want codes that work, I just want my money back and go elsewhere.

    It's easy to see this from both sides. The retailers must get people trying to scam them with codes all the time, buyers who buy used codes struggle to prove it. Surely by now they could have put something in place for the retailer to cancel the code with Sony/Microsoft/Steam etc and refund the buyer?

Sorry that others haven’t had so much success, but from my personal point of view I’m really pleased, they couldn’t have dealt with it better.


    They resent one for me this morning, which does work. However 17 days to sort when they are deleting Facebook requests for help and replying instantly to reviews isn’t good enough... their words as well. If they couldn’t cope with orders from 6 weeks ago they shouldn’t still be putting up new offers for the product until they get themselves in order.

    That’s brill, really pleased yours is finally resolved too. Totally agree though that the way you’ve been treated isn’t good. I certainly can’t complain personally, really pleased mine was resolved so easily, just a shame they didn’t sort yours straight away too. At least it’s sorted!

    Been emailing for two weeks, they’ve done nothing. By that I also mean even a message just to say they will sort it. I got a message after ten days asking for the order number, when all the details were in my contact to them. Then ignoring.
    I don’t know how PayPal disputes work for this as I received a code and it wasn’t as described as already used (edited)

    I read somewhere that you should use them straight away or you get this issue. Just a warning to others. Its no excuse and should not be happening anyway, but good to know to avoid this issue.

    You’d also think they’d have a way of seeing who/where the code was redeemed?

He’s sent it over to the IT team to look in to and hopes it can be resolved. I’m keeping fingers crossed - if they can work out what’s gone wrong and resolve it then brilliant. If not then that’s another matter, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now and see what happens!

    I think he meant that they were busy at the time when I ordered so there were literally thousands of these codes going out, and blamed any potential error on that. We’ll see!

    There was also other comments on their fb page from others with same issue, all just disappear... kind of how they wish we would now they’ve had the money.

    Yeah I’ve used them for quite a few years too, not massive purchases but generally whenever the kids Xbox or PS4 subs are due, or there’s a new game they want to buy, it’s where I go. I think something similar actually happened a couple of years ago but it was for a small amount and I just put it down to my son getting confused and having done something with the code, but these are definitely untouched until tonight!

    I’ve also used them for years and recommended them to family. The emails etc all feel like they’re not written like they used to be so I’m wondering if someone has taken them over?

    Happened to me with a PS now sub & it was redeemed, no help from shopto whatsoever, opened PP dispute & the fly company replied to it in the final hours & won. So £40 down the drain.

    Igor Cipolletta has been there since 2002 (& used to be rolled-out to speak to the press about Shopto.net), & he is still there (unless the information about Skream Limited is not up-to-date at Companies House)...

    Are PlayStation/Xbox support not able to find out if you asked? It's not like you're asking for any personal information, just a date/time when the code was used so shouldn't be an issue.
