If Fiat can't be bothered to make a stock photo of the UK version then they don't deserve my UK money.

Yawn. I had a 59 plate diesel Panda from new for 9 years until an uninsured idiot hit me head on. Never let me down, never needed any work apart from tyres brakes etc and had done 151000 miles at the time of its demise. In terms of getting from A to B reliably, comfortably and cheaply (70 to the gallon) it's the best car I've ever owned. So at least try to be original in your posts!

I had one of those Panda 100hp things for four years, most reliable car I’ve ever owned (and I include my current German-born vehicle in that)

Lot of rubbish being thrown around as usual. I have a Panda Cross 4wd as a second car, it has a 900cc engine. I live in Mid Wales. Hills you say? 1.2l can’t get up a hill? Have you been to Wales? Well trust me - it goes up those hills!

In fact I bought the Panda for just that reason. I live on a hill, my drive is really steep, it’s hard to walk down and knackering walking up. Bit of rain and 2wd cars slip and struggle. Snow or ice and you are stuffed.

My son is disabled and I absolutely have to be able to get out in an emergency. No way would an ambulance get up the drive in snow, the Panda couldn’t care less what the weather was like, it just gets in with it. Everywhere, and I mean everywhere, we go we have hills, not just little bumps, we have proper hills in Wales. Sure it’s not like driving a lovely big comfortable saloon, but it can absolutely go up any hill, the engine doesn’t struggle and breakdown, it just gets on with it.

Of course the traction of the 4wd is going to be different to this car, but that’s not what people are going on about. They are saying the engines can’t cope. If mine can a 1200cc can.

I tried maybe 20 different cars, many were 3 times the price of the Panda Cross. Although the Panda is certainly the lowest spec car I tried it was more about convenience and value for money in the end. I’ve driven past many so called ‘off road’ cars in snow and ice, they just can’t hack it. If it had a winch I could helped them out, but I’m guessing most would be to embarrassed I’ve never got stuck anywhere, and it’s a lot of fun to drive too. No it’s not quiet, but then look at what you are buying. If you want a better car you can buy used for the same money of course.

Luxury - damn no! But terrible? Not at all. Its a nice little car, especially if you want a 2nd runaround. Though have a look at the 4WD Cross - it’s a lot more fun (but more money new of course!)

Try it out yourselves, on a hill, tell me if it breaks down. Every car has horror stories, but the good thing about a basic car is there’s really not much to go wrong!

    Well who pays RRP ?

8.5K is around the normal offer price for a Panda Easy. Still great value for a wee runaround. Just not particularly Hot. Sorry.

Fair enough, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.BTW, it's always a Fiat Panda that holds everyone up and causes tailbacks on single lane roads. Probably the safest drivers ever.

Totally agree with the sentiment of what you are saying (i.e. its never going to win a race, but its fine for its purpose), but you state you have the 0.9 litre (over 100lb ft of torque), which is the twin air turbo thing, isn't it? Furthermore, the 1.2 litre being advertised here is the non turbo with about 25% less torque (75lb ft) and about 20% less power? I imagine your car is quite nippy but the 1.2 may feel a bit slow in comparison?

Nothing worse. I despise drivers who are impatient and don't use indicators. I think it's any fast car in the hands of an irresponsible aggressive driver. Speed kills innocent victims.
