Headset and mic not working through Xbox controller on pc.

Posted 19th Apr 2020
Please help!!!... I have an Xbox one wired controller plugged into a usb socket on my pc. I then have my headset and mic plugged into the socket on my Xbox controller. I have sound but no mic.... This works on my Xbox laptop and on my phone so it's not the headset. Been through lots of settings in my pc. No joy..:(. Does the headset lead have to be split into mic and headset for pc????. Thanks.

Looks like custom connectors, you'll be way better off just connecting to pc, but even then you may need a splitter, does the headset you've ordered come with seperate mic and audio out (2 X 3.5mm jacks)?

You may have to select the Xbox controllers microphone in windows settings

It’s finicky as hell, OP, and has been for a long time. One minute it will work fine and the next it’ll be bust again.

I gave up and just bought a headset that connects to the PC.

Does the headset work in your phone?
You might have gotten away with just a splitter

I have one 3.5mm jack on headset. So thinking need a 3.5mm to 2*3.5 mm jack's for both mic and headphone in back of pc.
