About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
YouTube Premium provides ad-free YouTube, some premium content + YouTube Music. UK standard price for an Individual membership is £11.99/month.
I'm currently visiting India and noticed prices for Indian users are MUCH cheaper:
Individual: 129 INR = £1.37 GBP
Family: 189 INR = £2.00 GBP
I believe these prices are cheaper than previous offers posted (eg Russia VPN/billing - Individual £2.16 / Family £3.14).
I just successfully added a YouTube Premium Family subscription to my account, I have a UK debit card but entered India as the billing country and their system didn't seem to mind. No problems with my YouTube/Music content - no odd suggestions etc.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Start up a VPN that offers locations in India (eg hide.me)
2) Browse to youtube.com/pre…ium and start adding subscription
3) When entering payment details, enter India as your billing country (their system doesn't seem to check for validity)
Happy bingeing!

Unfortunately everyone that I invited for example my account that is here in the UK, could not join the family plan because they were not registered on the same country. I didn't want my main Gmail account to change country because this causes complications with banking apps and play store payments.
Thus I created another account for YouTube use only and added that to the Indian paid family plan!
(the hassle was copying my playing list from one YouTube account to the other)
Hope this helps someone!
Here is what finally worked for me, with the added bonus of requiring no change whatsoever to the existing UK accounts.
There is a key step (changing country in play store) which requires an android phone. I don't know how to make it work with only an iPhone or a PC. After setup, you can use any type of phone.
- Connect to an Indian VPN (I used NordVPN)
- Go to gmail.com and create a new Indian account, using a random Indian billing address. You need to enter a real phone number as you will receive a code by SMS. I used my UK phone number without issues. Pick a valid postal code here: indiapost.gov.in/vas/pages/FindPinCode.aspx
- Register for a YT premium membership at youtube.com/paid_memberships using a fee-free card if possible (I used my Revolut card). IMPORTANT: DO NOT create a family yet!!!! This is the KEY!!! Do not set up any sort of sharing! (If you did create a family, you can just delete it. Don't mess up again as you can only change family once a year)
- Disconnect from the Indian VPN. You have now officially moved to the UK. Welcome.
Following your relocation for personal reasons, you need a UK payment profile for your Indian account!
- Go to manage your account / payment details and create a new UK-based payment profile. pay.google.com/gp/w/home/setting
Note: this is different than adding a UK card or a UK address. You need to go in the right-most tab that says "Settings" which lists your "payment profile for Google Play". Try to edit your country and you will be prompted to create a new profile for the new country.
- This is the step missing from other guides: you need that UK profile to be set up for the Google Play Store. For this, you need the google play store app(the browser/desktop interface does not allow you to change country for some reason). Go to your account settings and under "country & profile" and you will see your 2 profiles. Select the UK one. Note: You can only change country once a year.
What if you do not see 2 profiles? Make sure: 1. you are in the UK (i.e. not on the VPN) 2. not part of any family (confirm at families.google.com/ and if needed, delete the family.) 3. you did create a UK profile (confirm at pay.google.com/gp/w/home/setting).
- Once your google play profile is set to the UK, you can start sharing. Start your family at families.google.com. Invite any UK account. It will just work. No need for a VPN since this is a British family. Your YT membership is still charged to your Indian payment profile but shared with your British family
Hope this helps some people! Please upvote if it did, to help people find this post. (edited)
I've spent a while doing this, which also included setting up a new account and in the end it seems to have been much easier than I thought (and I'm computer savvy as well!).
1) Log out off your Google Account
2) Set your VPN to India (obviously). I personally used the free version of Simplify and connected to Bangalore
3) Log back in to your normal Google Account and go to the YouTube Premium page
4) Choose what option you want (for me it was family)
5) Making sure the price is set to Rupees, turn off your VPN
6) Enter your card details and choose the state (Can't remember what I put, but it began with a K)
That should pretty much be it at this point. Invite the family members by email. No need to use the VPN.
When you go to to Premium/Memberships page on your account, it should now show as R189/month (if you chose family)
I have tested this by inviting and adding my wife and daughter and everything seems to be running fine
All the above is how I remembered doing it so it might not be exact! (edited)
I solved this by accepting the family request from the family member’s email account whilst on the india vpn - if they are not connected to an indian vpn i found it didn’t work - which i suspect may have been the problem for you
If you're going to try and be an armchair lawyer, can't you try and be an armchair english teacher first ?
Vanced is for touch based devices, smartphones, tablets. What you need for Amazon Firestick is SmartYoutube

A Revolut or Starling card are fee free
This has been covered on the last India YouTube premium deal

This should sort your issue out.
The only issue I cant get around is the Indian playlist/charts/suggestions and how to change them to the uk
this info is probably best put in your OP. (edited)
Thanks for the tip. I have so many devices though including watching youtube on some old tv’s etc that for me to find a solution for each would probably take more time and effort than spending £1.30 per month. Great for those who watch it on the phone only does it allow downloading videos?
Seen solutions before about adding payment profiles etc. One straightforward explanation step by step to avoid this error would be appreciated. (edited)
These are apps that are not on google play store, you have to download the apk's from their respective page. Just remember to follow their step by step tutorial to install them properly. Youtube Vanced Newpipe (edited)
You didn't think to read the opening post which has instructions on how to get this ?
Well glad it didn't work for you then.
Select a server in Chennai and it will switch to RS 129
I pay on monzo card, so is fee free. The only time a VPN was needed was during the initial account payment section. After that, no need to connect VPN.
have my family of 4 using YouTube Premium running perfectly.
unsure why the deal is expired though!
This is the way I did it using asac's guidance.:
- Connected to an Indian VPN (I used ExpressVPN)
- I created a Gmail account to see if it prompted me to add an address and it didn’t. For my purposes I therefore used an existing spare UK Gmail account.
- I registered for YouTube Premium Family membership @ IND Rupee 189 (5 family members) at youtube.com/paid_memberships using a fee-free card (I used my Halifax Clarity credit card). I added an Indian address for billing purposes but this is not linked to the payment card.
- I did not create a family at this stage
- Disconnected from the Indian VPN.
- I then created a UK payment profile for my Indian payment account:
- Go to Google Account -> Manage Your Account -> Payments & Subscriptions -> Manage Payment Methods -> Settings. Click on the pencil next to Country/Region and create a UK-based payment profile.
- On my Android mobile I added my new Google account used to register YouTube Premium in order to set up for the Google Play Store. Under Account Settings and under "Country & Profile" I only had one profile for UK
oh, so you don't access youtube via the VPN? im a bit slow with all this real modern stuff
My mistake was I decided to sign up for the Google one service, and figured it would a) make sense to do it on the family manager account for the family benefits of google one, and b) would make sense to keep the payment in rupees as the other payment was. So I changed the family account back to Indian and after a bit of messing about was able to purchase the new service in Rupees. I then struggled to change it back to UK, and then found out you are only able to change countries once a year.
My daily Gmail account is now in a weird state of flux where the app store on my phone lists prices in rupees, but if you make a purchase it will charge in £. But I also find that some apps are not available to me, it must think my UK account is in india, when I never touched the settings on it. As my daily gmail was previously in another family group I also can't change the family membership for another year so will have to wait it out, and start over in the new year !
Totally recommend the deal, just once it is working, don't mess about with it !
This is awesome and worked a charm! Can this please be added to the original post!?
You need to put in an Indian address, just find a Starbucks or something out there and use this as the address (edited)
Is it safe to use my existing YouTube account or does it require a new account?
