    Still overpriced...

Fuel duty – Currently set at 57.95 pence a litre, this accounts for approximately 50% of a litre of fuel

VAT – Currently set at 20%, VAT is applied to petrol purchases. Any change to the fuel price will be subject to this tax.

Cost of petrol – This involves the cost of the raw element (crude oil) and its refinement at the plant. This element accounts for around 27% of a litre of fuel.

Retailer Profit – Typically – and perhaps surprisingly - retailers receive only a small profit from the sale of every litre – around 5%

Can’t see it getting much cheaper without government action. (edited)

Oh the days when petrol was a 3 digit number... I remember when it first went over 99.9p, my local shell garage had to stick the ‘1’ on the outside of the number frame because there weren’t enough digits.

Let’s hope others follow suit so us key workers can get to work for less money! Cheers (edited)

In the US the cost of oil has dropped so much that the oil companies have had to lay of 30 Us Congressmen. 🤪

Hold off a couple more weeks, the price will fall further.

Also remember to use petrolprices.com or the app to find the cheapest in your area

store specific as a gulf station in Kilmarnock today was 101.9 for unleaded today - still cheaper than Asda and Tesco's nearby it tho

It did. Anyone can now pay to use the brand. There is no such thing as Gulf fuel.
