Good price for those looking to get into weights, not the heaviest weights I know before those comments start, but good especially considering the difficulty of getting any kind of sports equipment at present.
-----------------------------------------------

The Marcy 68kg (150lbs) Stack Home Gym system, is an ideal attribute to any home and will provide you with a complete body workout. The gym system is made up of a heavy duty 14-gauge steel tube frame. Protective stack covers can be found on the weights for added durability and safety. The tough frame can fully support the 68kg weights that are in constant motion.

This gym system comes equipped with a dual function arm press, adjustable bicep pad with roller pads, adjustable butterfly attachment, leg developer and a lat pull station. The press and vertical butterfly attachment are great for upper body exercises including chest and pec fly pressing. The lat bar is ideal for pulldowns which is designed to target both chest and back whilst building shoulder strength. The dumbells and weights are for bicep and with the added comfort of the preacher curl bicep pad it doesn't add unnecessary strain to your body.

You will never have an excuse to miss leg day again with this dual function leg developer. The pivot point is designed to align the knee joints when moving to help keep them in the correct position. This is complete with foam roller pads for added comfort and easy grip.

Features:

  • Steel Construction: This home gym system is made of heavy duty 14-gauge steel tube frame and vinyl coated for extra durability with a total weight of 68kgs. Change your settings by simply inserting the weight pin into your desired weight and lift.
  • Dual Function Arm Rest: This press arm has two settings: vertical butterfly and chest press. When set to vertical butterfly, each press swings individually to strengthen the muscles while switching to chest press is easy by inserting the pin and lift.
  • Double Pulley Stations: Two separate lateral bars give you different options to strengthen your muscles. The pulley system allows easy weight lifting by using the lateral bars for pull ups, pullovers, pulldowns, and pulley rows to build your body muscle.
  • Easy Leg Workouts: With thick foam roller padding and a dual function leg developer that comes with a pivot point for a comfortable workout, the low pulley can be used for leg workouts via pulls with the foot wrap that can be attached to the leg developer.
  • Racher Curl Bicep Pad: This bicep pad is fully adjustable. Use it to pump some iron or use it with the lower pulley in a seated position. Perform barbell and hammer curls with ease without putting too much strain on your back.
  • Seat Pad Surface Area: W 41 x D 32 cm
  • Floor To Seat Pad Height: 51 cm
  • Framework: 14 guage 5 x 5 cm steel frame
  • Cables: 907.2kg (2000lb)
  • Pulleys: 4" (10.2 cm)
  • Max User Weight: 135kg
  • Weight: 117kg
  • Dimensions: H 210 x W 172 x D 91 cm

    They really can't.

What is the technique to get a slim body I'm not dreaming of six pack just yet because that is a distant dream. I just want a tone body. Which equipment do I need and how much am I looking at spending

Weight lifting is good though, any exercise is good to be frank. Try to increase your naturally larger muscles (thighs/quads/chest/shoulders/back) and then this should increase the amount of calories your body naturally consumes in a day and so should help to increase weight loss. Healthy diet is still required obviously.

Honestly... this looks like a pretty good purchase. Some people may eventually become strong enough that they require more weight but I'd say it's sufficient for most.

Edit: also it's really rare to get a chest fly machine in a home gym, usually requires buying a pair of cable machines and they're not cheap (edited)

It's been quite some years since I hit the gym but I'm really interested in this. Im concerned I might outgrow it though as I'm a fairly big build and used to be on 3/4 stack for most gym equipment even when I hardly went.. Thats all I can remember though, which isn't helpful to inform my decision! 6ft 2 and 15 stone if that helps re. advice!

Hard to remember off the top of my head exactly. The chest fly was around 120-150kg on full load I think, chest press around 160-180kg, leg press I bet would be 250-300kg.

Given that gyms will likely open up in 3 weeks, is this worth buying?
What you don't want is to buy this thing. It arrives in 1 week. Then 2 weeks later, gyms open up.

I felt really inadequate for a moment then!
Seriously though I think it depends on the gearing of the machines, I squat about the same as I can press on the machines at our gym (120-130KG), unless you take into account the additional 15 stone of body mass of myself in which case I can squat significantly more than I can press on the machine.

A few of the guys pretty much max out the machine, there simply aren't enough plates to put on, never mind the lack of space to accommodate them on the machine itself.
Also, I hate leg day. Just thought I'd say that.

I wouldn't bother with anything like this. 90% of people who buy one will use it as a clothes horse after a few weeks then advertise it on ebay for a fraction of the price a year later.
Keep your money in your pocket for now, get some press-ups done with Joe Wickes (or whichever similar youtube home workout video you like) for the remainder of lockdown then join a gym when they re-open for £15-£20 a month.
