A fab valued CD Projekt Red Collection is currently on sale at GOG as part of the summer sale, and an even more tempting price can be had from GOG Russia. Whilst Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed but if you dont mind pre-ordering then this is a pretty good offer in my humble view.

Now I know some people might say they need all the money, which is fair, but I am just posting this as it makes for a compelling deal and thats what we are all here for.

Scamming developers isn't a deal, its a dodgy practice taking advantage of poorer countries. At best, it's fraudulent.

Shameful and these scams should not be allowed on a reputable site like this Especially from someone who is supposedly a "pepper expert"
Not that this will stop any of you doing it. (edited)

The price drops on Cyberpunk seem to be happening at the same rate as if it had released back in April.

Not doing this, only because my pc can barely play the trailer video on YouTube, let alone the main game when it comes out lol. Hell of a find though

With the Witcher they delivered multiple updates to customers, their retail physical copies has freebies that almost no developer has provided in recent years and their expansion pack was considered by many to be worthy of a game in itself.

Whilst delaying a game may be frustrating I see that as even further proof of their values. They would rather deliver a game that is polished and worthy of the money they are requesting you to pay. Whilst it’s frustrating for some fans to wait even longer for the game, any project and especially one as large as this always has a risk of delays. That is simply the nature of creating something new whether it’s a game, software, hardware, art or a vaccine.

If they want to delay things then that's a business decision for them to …If they want to delay things then that's a business decision for them to make. The problem is that the length of time and extent to which they push pre-orders. Game publishers need to start seeing pre-order customers as investors rather than saps who can just be relied on to inject capital between releases and repeatedly fobbed off via social media. As customers, gamers have accepted that kind of anti-consumerist behaviour for far too long and that's something which we need to collectively stop tolerating.

No doubt some developers do use that as a strategy however I would counter that consumers should stop tolerating obviously rushed, incomplete games being released for simply arbitrary release dates or to get the game out ahead of a peak sales period such as Christmas.

Each situation needs to be assessed individually, I would rather a game is delayed and is amazing rather than released early and be average. Many consumers would agree, your assertion is far too simplistic and does not apply for all gamers.

If you feel this game has been delayed too much and therefore feel it doesn’t provide you with enough value then I would encourage you not to buy from this developer again. I think you will find however that CD Projekt Red has garnered plenty of goodwill and trust in amongst much of the gamer population.

This of course ignored the earlier point I made, when creating something new delays are an inherent unavoidable Risk that can materialise. (edited)

Hm, I just can't seem to get those VPNs mentioned in the post working.

Hola seems to give no actual VPN option, only an option for connecting to specific sites, GoG.com not being one of them.

UrbanVPN seems to connect to a Russian VPN, but when I access GoG.com all the prices are still in £ and I'm still in the UK store.

I’ve heard that the games downloaded from gog lag during story modes. I’ve also heard that the customer service has been quite bad but that may be down to the high tickets from this pandemic. Anyone experienced any issues with gog?

Gog has always been perfectly fine for me, the game files are the same as anywhere else minus the DRM so you shouldn't experience any difference.

I was here to say something similar. Whilst there are a million different interpretations of what is considered ‘hot’ on here, my own philosophy was that it’s based on value. I would feel it’s poor value overall to take away income from a company that has consistently delivered value back to its customer base.

My opinion is that pre-orders should be refunded by a small amount e.g. 10% every time a game is delayed. That way if you pre-order earlier and back that studio with your wallet, you obviously take a slightly bigger risk but stand to get a bit more of your money back with excessive or consecutive delays. That's closer to how an investor relationship might work.

I can foresee the argument that some people might think this would cause studios to rush games however considering that game would then face harsh criticism and/or review bombing, I don't think that would happen in the long term personally. If anything it could help more developers to be employed because publishers would start to see a real financial impact from continuously delaying projects.

Incidentally, I didn't pre-order this game personally, I received it as a Steam gift earlier this year. I personally wouldn't pre-order anything from this publisher with my own money because they pulled the same delay stunts over The Witcher 3. (edited)

So for us that visit family in Ukraine / Russia is it ok for me to buy the game then, the same time I buy a phone / clothes? Or is that classed as scamming, buying items when on holiday ?

Ive travelled to 20+ countries on business trips and purchased games on Steam. Should I then use a VPN back to UK to pay our rates. (edited)

Yep I did yesterday. Already got Witcher 3 installed and played the first hour yesterday so can confirm it works and everything. Cyberpunk is also showing up in my GOG launcher. If you are trying it from a windows machine, my tip would be to use Hola VPN browser extension on chrome. I couldn’t get urban vpn and didn’t fancy downloading a full vpn client and hola worked absolutely fine.
