Please read this thread to get an understanding of the situation.

Summary: 9th Feb - Buyer purchases a Oral-B toothbrush I have up for sale (£39).
11th Feb - Item is delivered
24th Feb - Buyer opens item not delivered case on ebay - I contact ebay next day, provide the tracking information and tell them that there is even a photo attached to the tracking of the package in the hallway of the address alongside someone standing next to it.
25th Feb: Buyer sends me a message

Obvious attempt to scam me. I contact ebay again, they tell me not to worry I can report him and do not need to message him back. I even explain to them I've made it a habit to take pictures of items I sell in their packaging along with recording their weight. I also don't understand how a ladies coat can even fit in a small amazon box (which I sent the toothbrush in).

Today 28th Feb:
Buyer sends me another message:
Will you re send my item or do I have to create a police report to re appeal my case on ebay? I have all the evidence of the item arriving not being my toothbrush but a ladies coat. I can send it back to you but I want either a full refund or my toothbrush. Please reply within 72h otherwise I will create a police report and I will appeal ebays case.

Not long after he opens a item not as described case.

I contact ebay once again and explain the whole situation to them. This time they do not close the request but put it on hold and in the mean time request I submit a report to action fraud and contact hermes?
They also tell me the buyer has a right to request a refund if the item is not as described. Clearly they are following a script and won't logically look at the facts in front of them of obvious buyer fraud.

Case currently says:
eBay Customer Support has placed the case on hold until 10 Mar 2021 to allow time to provide additional documentation.

We have asked for more information from your customer to confirm the condition of the item received. If any additional information is needed from you we will request it through an email.

From what I can see online, there are a lot of horror stories of genuine sellers getting stung because of buyer scum like this. Any advice to what I can do would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
