Get 12 months of Sports Coverage for £1/month (new subscriptions) @ The Athletic

It's not worth the full price (£50 or so) in my opinion, but $1 a month is a bargain if you are interested in the sports/teams that they cover. You will get more out of it if you are interested in US sports, but they have writers for lots of English teams, the old firm in Scotland and correspondents for the big European leagues.

It's never hard to find deals on The Athletic, but you won't find anything cheaper than this offer.

Great price. For those already subscribing try cancelling your auto renewal - might not be offered things at £12 but last time around they got me down to an £18 renewal for next month.

The NFL writing is superb - a real eye opener into the minutiae of the sport. Also worth noting the more lighthearted gaming section that’s just been added - some amusing Footy Manager stories and the likes.

I won’t pretend that I read it religiously but there are exceptional articles written every month. Some of the in depth football stuff digging around into some players past makes for great reading.

That's exactly what happened to me yesterday, I went to cancel and resubscribe with a different email to get the £1 per month rate and I've been offered the yearly sub for £17.99 - I went for it because it saved me some hassle

Fantastic deal, usually not a fan of premium or subscription based services, but at £1pm this is an absolute bargain.

Great outlet for media and not just breaking news, if you select which club you wish to follow they do all kinds of stories about old players, rising stars, stuff they’ve seemingly got from behind the scenes (which may or may not be true).

I think I paid something like £36 for the year.

Doesn't show sports games. It's sports journalism with a primary US/Canada focus, but has expanded of late to cover football. Have poached a lot of writers working for The Guardian and The Times.

Bargain! I've been a subscriber for 2 years. Listen to the football podcasts more but they are first to plenty of big breaking stories and reports too.

Worth buying just to help fund their excellent tifo and tifo IRL youtube channels

$7.99 after 12mths, so put something in your calendar reminders.

Sure you used to be able to 'gift' yourself long terms subs at cheap prices but that doesn't seem to work anymore. Nowhere for codes or anything.

If you like one of the sports covered then the articles tend to have more in depth coverage. For a pound a month its great value even if you just dip in and out of it.

I'm in it for the football. Some of the writers are very experienced journalists who often comment back on the have your say section. This part is a bit less rabid than the equivalents on the BBC and other papers as it tends to be just that club's fans and fewer trolls.

its billed per month so if you cancel your only get the discount for one month the your go back to full price (edited)

Thanks, my deal was due to renew soon. The offer form kept forwarding to the athletic homepage but I managed to stop it while loading and claim the offer

Bit of a noob question here. Got the deal viewing articles and everything fine on my laptop, decided to download the app to my phone (android) this evening logged in fine but won't let me read full articles, has subscribe now and takes me to a screen to subscribe. Is it one subscription per device or am i doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.
