Posted 7th Mar 2022
Does anyone have a screenshot of the T&C's from last months AIG deal please? I seem to have lost mine and now can't find the deal. Thanks in advance

    I took out a policy on 6th February 2022

This is the email received at the time, simply stating 30 days (not working days)

These are the T&Cs on the link in the email, again stating 30 days, not 30 working days:

I just rang the 01565 656492 number and a helpful lady mentioned I should receive something in the next week or so and the status of my claim is "green" which means there are no red flags etc and all should be ok.. I don't think anyone needs to worry just yet and to wait a little bit longer..

next week or so is around the 30 day period so it looks like it will be about the 5th or 6th septembe for me

dates will depend when you signed up but within afew days of 5th or the 6th for everyone hopefully

Hi, see below link to the T&C's for this offer. There are two different T&C's - one for those that purchased between 10th Jan and 7th February and those bought between 8th Feb and 3rd April. The latter specifically makes mention of the £12 reward. Would suggest downloading/ saving a copy of this webpage for reference.

Made my 7th payment last week. Still no sign of email regarding the amazon voucher. I started the policy on 5th of Feb and the first payment was taken on 10th of February. As per the terms, they have up to 30 days after the completion of 6 months which is 5th of Sept. So, hopefully I should get something in next 2.5 weeks.

my next payment is the 20th so i'm expecting that to go out which i'm not bothered about i'm also on the 5th feb so hopefully not long to go now

I’ve done 6 payments. Any idea what happens now

I think you need to wait until it is 6 months from the start date of your policy, which could be anywhere between 1 day and 1 month after your 6th payment, depending on when in the month your payments go relative to when your policy started.

For example, I started my policy on 5th February, but my first payment didn't go until 2nd March. So my 6th payment will go on (or about) 2nd August, but it won't be 6 months from my start date until the 5th August.

After that you should get an email from @lifeinsurancerewards.co.uk, like the earlier one (I got one on 10th February), but that one says "We will send you an email with details of how to claim your Gift Card after you have passed six months, please allow 30 days from this point for delivery of this email." - so in my case that will be 5th August + 30 days = 4th September, so I might end up having to make a 7th payment. But hopefully they will be quicker than the whole 30 days.

My 6th payment went out on 6th August. Waiting on the supposed email regarding the £100 Amazon voucher. I got my £100 Amazon voucher from the Legal & General insurance which I paid £6/month for (£36 total). Claimed it just now. (edited)

    Replying to

I just logged into my Legal & General account and the voucher was waiting for me. Redeemed it on the Amazon app instantly.

Just been looking at the T&C's of both offers here
    lifeinsurancerewards.co.uk/aigll
Point 4 at the top of the page says "Don't forget, it's one gift per household and subject to a minimum monthly payment of £12." Which seems to apply to the earlier of the two policies as well even though it doesn't specifically mention it in the detailed T&C's below. Are they going to use this to get out of paying out the voucher for anyone paying less than £12 regardless of when they took out their policy?
    binkygriptite's avatar
Nah, only applies to the latter, amended offer... before 7th Feb and you're golden... if they argue otherwise then they're just making trouble for themselves

    Just received mine.
Signed up on the 5th of Feb 2022.
    ....
now off to cancel the policy.
    Mark_Hickman's avatar
    How do we cancel ?
I tried emailing but got an automated response stating they will reply within 28 days, customer service doesn't seem too good lol

how do we cancel the policy just cancel the DD or will we need to contact AIG ?
    waynester21's avatar
Just cancel the DD and they will cancel the policy without penalty when they can't collect the payment.

I can get cover for £2.40pm with the first month free so thats £12 of premiums for £50 of voucher...

I would say it be more the 15 mark, as this reward scheme is also run by The Marketing Lounge Partnership (same lot that run AIG's scheme), they pay out after 7 payments normally.

50 payout for 15 outlay, 35 profit, still not bad. (edited)

“Legal & General reserves the right to cancel your Legal & General Life Insurance or Decreasing Life Insurance policy or your eligibility for an e-Gift card should we discover or have a reasonable suspicion that the terms and conditions of this offer are being abused.”

“Legal & General reserve an absolute right to amend and/or withdraw any offer at any time.”

    Interesting T&C

Anyone had the voucher that took the policy out on the 7th
    mrbojangles's avatar
I took mine out on the 6th Feb, but late on in the day then. No voucher yet. I called the promoter and they said they can only chase AIG once the 30 days are reached, which will be Tuesday. I'll ring back then if not received.

Thought I'd check up on the thread. My 6th payment went out August 6th and no email yet. Who did you guys write to for a response? Could someone drop me a contact info link please?
    Jean80's avatar
Yeah I am same as you contacted customer service 3 times and not one response so would like to know who others have contacted as well.
  24. Zameen's avatar
Looks like it will be 7 monthly payments then
    binkygriptite's avatar
The terms don't mention anything around a number of monthly payments, only that payments must be up to date and no claims made... I guess the cover starts from the first monthly payment so the sixth payment will be at the beginning of the sixth month and the seventh payment would coincide with the end of the six months qualifying period of cover... so actual voucher 'payout' would largely coincide with the eighth payment (at the end of the seventh month) if the 30 calendar day processing period was used in full

    #confused
  25. ronin13's avatar
My interpretation of the T&C's: "You will be eligible for your Gift card six months after your policy start date." Therefore, you will have to make a minimum of 7 payments to be eligible. And, then wait 30-days! You could technically even make the 8th payment before this is resolved and we/you have banked our £100 Amazon voucher. (edited)
  26. binkygriptite's avatar
Does anyone else actually think this is a good product? I switched my decreasing mortgage cover to this, entirely like for like and brought my monthly premium down from around £10 to £4 a month, so I'm not sweating the voucher date either way.
    MrCharlie's avatar
Providing the cover is what you want etc should be fine. AIG is legit and the policy regulated by the FCA. (edited)
  27. m1kehunt's avatar
I'm sure the minimum when I applied was £5!
    ibrahih6's avatar
There's no mention of a minimum monthly payment for policies taken out before the 8th Feb
  28. VaderLoverUK's avatar
I never received an email acknowledging the reward after I took out the policy. Did everyone else. I only recieved an email confirming that I had taken out a policy. Getting a bit worried now
    DLegend's avatar
same here, I never received an email regarding the vouvher/reward. I am just gonna give them a call once someone updates here that they have recieved the voucher.

I've just checked now and I've made 7 DD payments - Feb - Aug, yet have heard nothing. Will contact AIG to see what is going on. Looks like they are being difficult here.
    Zameen's avatar
Let us know how you go if you don't mind
  30. bigblockofcheese's avatar
I too applied and got confirmation on 5th February (i.e. the first batch) and have made 7 DD payments to them, but heard nothing, which is bad because the promise was that within 30 days of making your sixth payment they would be in touch...
  31. SuperDan's avatar
Just to come in on this - I'd like my giftcard to arrive asap, obviously, but the terms were actually that we would become eligible 6 months after our policy start date. I.e. not 6 payments after our start date.

    E.g. Start 5th February + 6 months = 6 August.

And it says gift card will be sent within 30 days of becoming eligible....

    So, 6th August + 30 days = 5th September.

    They've still got until Monday
  32. MrCharlie's avatar
    Who's next?

I already done Scot W, L&G and now these lot.

Looks like this was the last one, all other outfits only offer gift cards depending on the cost of your monthly premiums, effectively you have to pay out the value of the gift card or 80%, to get it back. (edited)
    waynester21's avatar
I did this and L&G. Spent under £60 for £200 worth of gift cards 😄
  33. Jean80's avatar
So was it an email you all received or do you need to sign into something to check?

Also would like the T&C's if anyone still has them? Seems they've changed after I applied for the deal.

Please could you help me with a copy of the T and C? The one from the above link mentions a £12 minimum monthly payment which wasn't there originally. Thanks
