A does-it-all port: Available on configurations with an i7 processor, a USB Type-C™ port supporting Thunderbolt™ 4 allows you to charge your laptop, connect to multiple devices, and enjoy data transfers of up to 40Gbps, 8 times that of a USB 3.1 Gen 1.

I think this is the original laptop at £750. I'd probably ignore the £750 price tag as Dell will always have some sort of code every few weeks.

£518 for this laptop is a decent price but it's a bit of a bizarre setup. The i7 H is in my opinion a beast of a processor but is wasted for the average user, it'll partner very well with a gaming card though and shame it hasn't got the mx450 mentioned in the blurb on the website.

As the H range are usually found in gaming laptops they are designed to get hot and as a result not have a great battery life. Hopefully thermals on this are ok but in my opinion an i7 g7 would be a far better processor as you lose very little as a workhorse for your average user but gain more from thermals and battery life making it more portable in my opinion.

This setup reminds me of the usual put in the best processor but cheapen out on everything else.

The plus side of the i7 is that it states it's thunderbolt, problem is very few products on the market that can utilise thunderbolt speed but for future proofing it'll be good I guess. Also 16gb is cracking.

As it doesn't say IPS or mention the nits value then I assume it'll be no more than 250 nits and 45% NTSC which for me is a no no, I'd much rather sacrifice on the processor and get a superior screen.

Backlit keyboard is always good to see.

Yeah, Code in Visual Studio 2019, SSMS for SQL and Chrome open at the same time, copes well although I do have 32GB of RAM with the extra apps I keep open (like outlook, teams, etc). Battery life, I can get away with 6 hours usage without worrying to plug in again at least, very decent I think!
