Monthly payments on Amazon

Hey all, just wanted to check what items you guys are being offered monthly payments on?

I used to have loads and used it fairly frequently, however, after being a victim of card fraud and having to cancel card and get a new one, I missed a payment (paid as soon as I realised). Since then the only 5 monthly offers I have are on Amazon products. I contacted them on web chat and was told I'm eligible and have no blocks on my account.

Not a huge deal but kinda miss the convenience of it.

Not the same but PayPal credit lets you pay interest free over 3 months. Same with Very.com? Always think a purchase through more so now.

If you type in the search bar pay 5 month deals it comes up with what is available for you.

I have, as far as I know, very good credit and i mainly only get credit deals on offered on Amazon products too. Maybe it's just an Amazon thing. You do occasionally get finance deals on none Amazon products but not often.

Just checked and the Xbox series S has it for 5 monthly too. No idea why it's suddenly appearing again. It wasn't there a month ago.

I initially noticed this last year when buying my iPhone 13 Pro, which I took up the offer (but cancelled for John Lewis when I realised Amazon weren't going to deliver for over a month from release day). They've also offered it to me on a load of other things like Xbox Series S, games like Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, phone cases, kids toys, a DualSense... But I still pay in full despite their 0% interest. It's as if their algorithm must really like me, to be fair I had a look on my bank statements and tabulated that I've spent £4k+ on Amazon over 13 years

Mine disappeared for a few weeks there, then randomly came back last week I think? I don't use it often but I did notice it disappeared for items on my wishlist before coming back.

    Ha ha

To be fair mine used to have a lot more things to buy on 5 month payment terms, they seem to be using the 10% APR payment system a lot more nowadays.

I used to get loads and then suddenly none, I'm just trying to justify buying an xbox, monthly payments would help

Yeah, I don't need to save up for it, like I said, the monthly payments just make it easier to justify buying myself something I don't need

Point of the thread was really just to see if others still got offers on non Amazon products, as mine disappeared pretty much overnight after my card issues

Think it's random, our account is Prime and over 5 years old with thousands of orders has a visa debit, Visa credit and MasterCard credit payments stored. Never see anything other than the barclays implementation they have added.

Parents account was setup 2 Christmas ago for echo we bought them only thing they buy is Kindle books and they have instalment options on a load, took advantage of ring offers few weeks back as our account had none eligible even tho never purchased those items previously.

Prefer PayPal version anyhow as works most places plus it has a positive impact as pay in 3 with PayPal directly relates to PayPal Credit if you have taken out that option so if you want your credit facilities to increase its best way, then you can take advantage of the promo 12 months interest free on larger purchases.

Just use these facilities wisely. (edited)

Yeah it's a strange one, had the same account since 2006, 1000's of orders etc etc, guess I'll just have to stump up lol

Yeah, I've been in touch with them and I've been told it's because of the late payment as described earlier in the thread. Bit annoyed as I had numerous alternative payment methods which they didn't use, so it didn't get paid til I noticed.

Online chat guy said he'd elevate it and someone would be in touch, obviously no reply received

I've spent over 8k in last 2 years.

They even wanted me to upgrade to a business account lol.

I used to get lots of five monthly offers, on way more than Amazon products, i’ve since just bought a 2in1 laptop over 12 month interest free via Amazon, I no longer get the five months offers. It’s probably for the best :-)
