Youtube Premium - (Turkey/VPN) - £8.53 for 1 year @ Youtube

Just payed £8.73 for full year YOUTUBE Premium (bank charged me 20p, that's 2.5% added, if you have a card that doesn't charge to convert currency then use that!), works out as 71p/month

There was also 2 months free and then you pay TRY 16.99 / month, basically the exact same as you would pay for the whole year.

INSTRUCTIONS:

VPN:
*install free adguard VPN - chrome.google.com/web…gje

*create account, sign in and change to TURKEY

YOUTUBE PREMIUMN
* go to YOUTUBE Premium website while logged into the YOUTUBE account you want upgraded
YOUTUBE premium

*check it says TRY 16.99 / Month

*chose monthly or for yearly there's a link when you scroll down for yearly or family (for family you can add up to 5

Free version of Windscribe, set to Istanbul works fine for signing up.
Probably helps if you've got a new google account setup in advance, with appropriate method of payment already added (e.g. Revolut / Monzo / Clarity etc).

Maybe they claim they do checks, but I don't think they do. Been doing the India version of this for like 3 years now with my main account and all of my family's accounts linked, with no issue.

no, all I did was add adguard vpn chrome extension, turn it on after making an account (no bank details just email verification) then when you open youtube premiumn you are sent to turkey one and make payment then deleted vpn, that's what I did (edited)

Best way would be create a new account then just add your account and anyone elses to that, fair doos you lose a family place but lease it won't mess with your main used accounts etc

You can use it anywhere you sign in with Google bud so should work on the TV as well as phones and other devices / firesticks / Google TV's etc. Ours works fine on em all. (edited)

better with revolut. I used google credit intially when i used vpn for India All went well until credits ran out. brought goole play credits from amazon india credit and tried to top up and it wouldn't let me.

I've tried the same method as per this thread for Google One storage and it hasn't worked. It always links me back to UK subscription prices unfortunately. I will try it on my laptop over the weekend and let you know how I get on.

As for Google blocking my account, I can't see this happening personally - seems a bit extreme! I have YouTube Premium all set up and shared with the missus and my daughter (thanks OP) as they were already in my Google family. (edited)

Just some more info for anyone who wants it, also struggled to get it to accept the payment, could add cards but would always error out when you click buy or order, to get it to work, I added my revolut card as a payment option then before I clicked buy or order to actually put the order through I turned off the VPN then clicked the button, went through first try like that, restarted youtube apps on different devices and the premium shown up right away.

Just had an email that my Argentinian Youtube Premium is going up by 330% from 80p per month to £2.29 per month! Any way I can sign up with another country and get it cheaper?

How did you get your family on it? I try but get errors.

Don't use a VPN when sending or accepting the invites to the family. Do it all without one.
When using the VPN, I kept getting the "not in same country" error.
Without the VPN, it worked perfectly. (edited)

That would indicate maybe your vpn wasn't on or working properly when you signed up - should have showed you the amount in the other countries currency

people have been doing this for years and no one has said they have been banned, some have even recurring monthly and no problem.
the family cost is slightly more, I'm not sure how it sets up for family members, if you have to do it while signing in or can do it later, I would think later tbh and maybe even allow to change?

when a browser blocks a popup you get a little notification next to search box on the right, think it shows an a little x
click on that notification and you get an option to allow popups from the site, that's what I did, let me know how it goes

I've been trying this for ages today and I keep getting the same payment error using revolut. I've tried Turkey & Argentina, chrome & Edge and I'm still getting a payment error!

Hope you got it sorted

I just used my revolt card for Turkey one year and worked. Fine.

I closed all tabs and cleared all data out of Firefox. Used VPN and logged into YouTube, then went premium.
Put revolt card details in then hit pay. Revolt app came up with a message to say something, like card verfied, sorry can't remember. Then YouTube screen was asking only for card security number again. Put the 3 numbers in and entered. Worked straight away. Revolt app came up with receipt straight away.

I did do all this on my phone. I did log into revolt app while I was on VPN before i did payment, maybe that helped? (edited)

I done this last night and everything seemed to go through fine but I’ve had a email this morning saying I’ve cancelled premium, I’ve checked my account and it’s still saying premium till 2023.

I had to delete the app and use safari for it to work but I downloaded it again after I’d subscribed and it’s changed my location to USA but can’t see that being an issue?

Anyone had anything similar?

Anybody else just get an email from YouTube saying this (translated):

To avoid interruption of your membership and problems with other purchases, add a credit card issued by an Argentine entity as a primary or alternative payment method.
To check your YouTube payment methods, do the following:
1. Go to youtube.com/pai…ips.
2. Click Manage Membership.
3. Click EDIT next to your current payment method.
4. Click the down arrow next to your payment method.
5. Select another payment method or add a credit or debit card.
6. Enter card information if applicable.
7. Click SUBMIT.
To add an alternate payment method to be used if your primary payment method is declined, do the following:
1. Go to youtube.com/pai…ips.
2. Click Manage Membership.
3. Next to “Alternative payment method”, click EDIT.
4. Click Add credit or debit card.

Okay.. I used this method in March/ April time and successfully purchased one year membership for like £13. Not bad and I’m happy with my purchase. Now, I wanted to get another membership for a friend so I tried purchasing one but this time I have faced two problems. 1st, it doesn’t work with IPVanish vpn. Whenever I used Turkey server, it still showed me prices in pounds. So I did a little research and everyone is saying NordVPN is best to buy premium from Turkey. I used NordVPN to purchase my first subscription in March/April time and recently changed my vpn to IPVanish. So last night, I purchased 30 days free trail with NordVPN, followed all procedures to purchase the subscription and voila, it showed my prices in Turkish lira. I entered my card details and what shocked me was that they are asking for billing address. If I click on billing address bar, it automatically puts in TURKEY and there was no way I could change it to UK or my home address. I went ahead with Turkey as my card address and it declined my transaction later. So my verdict here is, this loophole has been broken and now there’s no way we can purchase YouTube premium subscription again. Alas! (edited)

I'd like to bring an update to this. Used ExpressVPN on a PC (signed up for a month and cancelled).

It seems Turkey and India (possibly others, too) have been barred from being accessed by a VPN via YouTube Premium sign up. It comes up with an error page that they cannot locate your country. After trying several, I was able to get it via the Polish website (although I was using Ukraine VPN). It's the student price which works out £2.98/month. Grabbed an address off Google, and paying via Revolut. Or PLN24.99 non-student. Still cheaper than the UK price. I only hope the monthly recurring charge just keeps going and doesn't stop (edited)

Interesting update, thanks.

Luckily my Argentinian one is still going strong after a few years but I do expect they'll do something about that eventually so it's always handy to know there are still ways around it.

I wonder if this might be worth investigating further ?

Thel ink you posted adds on a Chrome Extension - but there doesn't seem to be any option to create an account or choose Turkey as an country etcIf I go directly to their website and register an account with AdGuard VPN, and change it to Turkey, everything turns into Turkish so cant read it!

once you added the extension then click on it, if you can't see then you on the browser tab (next to the search bar at the top of your browser) there is a little jigsaw icon

click that icon and then chose adguard vpn, then it ask to log in or create an account. once you have done this step then in google I just typed "Youttube premiumn" and clicked the top link which was the one I posted

Thanks, worked first time no issues. I had India premium and created turkey profile (and deleted the Indian one) on pay.google.com and turned on VPN and it let me switch over to Turkey family for 25.99 TRY (edited)

Thank you! I keep thinking... These days I don't know any phone numbers... Don't know many passwords. Use Google for them all... Except a few banking ones and Amazon and PayPal. So I could cope with losing most things but Google! Maybe I can always make a new Google account and copy my passwords over at least!

My son would love youtube download and no adverts. We used to use some random apk from xda developers bit always a cat and mouse game...
