Posted 8th Sep 2022
Update 1
It looks like the voucher has a minimum spend associated (£250) - we've moved this thread to discussion so members who have tried to utilise this can discuss but we do not feel it would be appropriate to remain in deals as such a terms change wouldn't align with thread tempreture.
vouchercodes.co.uk/scr…601
1. Please note the £75 Curry's vouchers expires end of October 2022. All vouchers must be claimed and used before end of October 2022. VoucherCodes won't be able to replace any unclaimed or expired vouchers.
2. The £70.00 minimum spend: *(I) excludes pre-orders (II) does not include any delivery or collection charges, Gift Card purchases or Gift Card top ups, and (III) is the order total after the application of any voucher codes, discount codes, online savings and use of credit or points.*
3. You must click on the reward offer before making your purchase.
4. You must claim each Reward by clicking the Claim Your Reward button in your account within 6 months of the Reward confirmation email or the Reward will be forfeited. That said as stated above VoucherCodes won't be able to replace any expired or unclaimed voucher if not claimed and used before end of October 2022.
5. EXCLUDES KLARNA, CLEARPAY AND ANY OTHER "ORDER NOW PAY LATER" PAYMENT METHODS.

6. You must have a VoucherCodes account before taking part in the offer. You must have a full VoucherCodes account to access your £75 Currys Voucher.
7. To verify your transaction, your uploaded order confirmation must include all of the following information: (a) Order number (b) Order date (c) Order value (d) All items purchased (e) Payment method
8. Partial images of order confirmations will not be accepted.
9. No in-store receipts will be accepted.

12. The order with Screwfix must take place during the promotional period 08/09/2022 to 09/09/2022.
13. The transaction must have taken place online with Screwfix via VoucherCodes using the link provided.
14. Your claim will not be valid if you click on any other links or websites after VoucherCodes, before making your online order at Screwfix.
15. Cancelling or returning any items made in your order will deem the claim invalid and you will not receive the £75 Currys Voucher
16. Uploading the same order confirmation to more than one reward will deem all claims invalid and you will not receive your voucher.
17. Purchases of gift cards and balance top-ups are not included in the minimum spend.
18. Exclusions may apply and will be at VoucherCodes sole discretion.
19. This offer is not valid in conjunction with any other cashback or voucher code promotion which isn't advertised on VoucherCodes.

Me again Seeing the rejections and rather disappointed. I've flagged the merchant internally for review. We're trying to get in contact with vouchercodes, via our partnership team, and will update as/when we hear anything back but for now they're suspended

Please share feedback or more info on how claims are going in here as some have done already. (edited)

good decision. if they start honouring the vouchers I will post here and update but not holding my breath.

Special terms apply, £75 voucher could be spend £300. Anyone spotted a killer in terms as sounds too good to be true.
    xenophon's avatar
Yeah, and they don't list the special terms.

Looking at their Full Reward Terms it says this:
    • "Minimum Purchase Amount" – a purchase at the Merchant of at least the amount as described in the relevant Specific Reward Terms, excluding any Excluded Items. If the Minimum Purchase Amount is not described in the Specific Reward Terms then the Minimum Purchase Amount shall be GBP (Pounds Sterling) 250.

I think the merchant in this case is Screwfix, and the amount is £70.

Whats stopping someone from purchasing something, making a claim for the voucher and returning the item to screwfix?

  7. edengarden's avatar
Only valid for first 500 purchases. So it's already got more votes than that
  8. R4pt0r's avatar
They’ve declined me too. I spent £100 so they couldn’t decline me on VAT basis so instead went with “you have multiple accounts” (I do not)
    Andy_mac's avatar
I to have a been declined for the same reason and only have a single account. No idea what they are talking about. Have been using the same account since 2014 with no issues. Very sus....

After further investigation, we have reason to believe that you may have taken part in this offer and received the voucher to a different account, as it looks like you have 2 accounts with us.

The terms and conditions state that this offer is limited to one free Currys Voucher per person.

As our records show that you have already received a voucher, this order has been deemed not eligible for the reward and has now been marked as declined.

To avoid disappointment in the future, we recommend only taking part in this offer once under one account.

Bought from Screwfix this morning, voucher already approved and I've claimed. £75 gift card valid for 24month. No minimum spend
    Nathan's avatar
Have you double checked expiry? From the ones posted they mention 24 months but the last known balance date is from 2020 (when it was issued) - so you'd really be looking at 2 years from that date. Don't want to expire without you having used it!

Why does it say this discussion is no longer active at the top of page? Is vocuhercodes being given special help to supress disquiet due to there relationship with HUKD? (edited)
    Nathan's avatar
The thread was expired as the offering had expired - i.e members could no longer make purchases and use the promotion. This thread was moved to discussion for the reasons outlined in the post update. It was previously deleted pending more info but was restored so members could have reference to it and discuss/help one another. Prior threads have been left in deals.

The merchant is currently suspended due to their handling of this and other recent promotions, so we wouldn't allow further posts which feature their offers and prior deals are expired to minimise use. We also added "vouchercodes" to the list of moderated terms, and outside of feedback/experiences in existing threads we wouldn't allow members to reference them. Hopefully that is a clear indication on our stance and our partnership team are reaching out to the merchant regarding what has happened.

Is this £75 of Curry’s vouchers with no minimum spend like £20 off a £100 spend and a total of £75? Thanks in advance.
    campers's avatar
Good question this. I won't use what I bought till it l gets clear, as so I might return them
  12. tablespoon's avatar
I imagine that not one in fifty of the people voting hot on this are people who actually understand that they'll need to spend at least £320 to use the voucher (£70 + £250) and that within a very very short window of opportunity. (edited)
    Rudz's avatar
where are you seeing the £250 minimum spend ?
  13. Rocknroiia's avatar
Mods, this post needs editing to show the minimum spend needed this is going to make people spend money they don't have expecting to be able to sort out two Christmas gifts in one! (edited)
    Turret's avatar
I reported it. They replied saying as far as they can see, there is no minimum spend...
  14. Eptesicus's avatar
Mine just got declined for no reason...?
    Crackers's avatar
Same. I spent just over £75 and it was done last night about 1am - done via the vouchercodes site as instructed and uploaded the invoice. And still rejected.

We've looked into your claim and it looks like your purchase didn't meet the terms and conditions of the offer. This could be because:

It didn't meet the minimum spend
It wasn't within the valid dates
If you think something has gone wrong, please get in touch with us at RewardSupport@vouchercodes.co.uk with a copy of your receipt and we'll be happy to investigate.

Also wasn't aware its £75 off a £250 spend. Feel like I have been scammed
  15. hootz's avatar
They changed the terms 100% due to their mistake, they added in the VAT element to get rid of most of the submissions.

They get paid by promoting companies and take a commission, if they put an outrageous offer on to make commissions and then subsequently change the terms, that tactic known as bait and switch. If they then subsequently change the terms knowingly then try to impose them retrospectively that is clearly deception, and as they are making money from these commissions, these commissions are being made through deceptive practices

Their trust pilot is here btw

    Hi Paul,

    Thank you for your reply.

I can confirm that if eligible, once you receive your £75 Currys Voucher, there is no minimum spend attached to the voucher.

I want to point out that there is a short expiry date, though. "

Now just got to get them to give me the blooming voucher!

Been offered vouchers as a gesture of goodwill - £20 Amazon etc.

Voucher codes are snakes!! Won't trust them again.

It's like all the cashback offers on mobile phones from years ago that rely on small print and the customer jumping through 15 hoops.

People will loose faith with the site if they keep repeating this with similair offers
    amz84uk's avatar
Refuse to accept the goodwill gesture. That’s what I have done.

They’ve now escalated it and I wait to hear back.

If I wanted a promo of £20, I would have opted for that.

I’ve made a purchase of £100 at Screwfix and now want my £70 Currys voucher which I had registered into at VoucherCodes.
  19. sreenireddy's avatar
is this a scam? in the sense that you have to buy and send the receipt. they have 30 days to respond but theres now only 21 or less days left for you to use the voucher depending on how long they take to respond, so whats to stop them only sending you the voucher after the expiry date? or just say its too late?
  20. TehJumpingJawa's avatar
I think the real gotcha is that there are only 500 Currys vouchers available.

Mine has finally been approved after a couple of bounce Back emails from Gemma and Anna asking for further proof .I was well under the vat threshold. My total spend was £80 . I made my purchase near midnight .the t&c was probably changed later about ex vat . I was asked for time of order proof in one of the bounce back emails .

Good to know and can see some others now under the added VAT threshold being approved. Fingers crossed I get mine sorted now.

Edit: Got email saying it is sorted and status has now gone back to Verifying. Had something about Claim Gift Card from within my account after logging out and back in but cannot see what they mean. Not long had message so will give until morning and try logging in fresh again. (edited)
  22. neilix's avatar
I've had mine approved this morning from a purchase of £71.58 (59.64 excl. VAT). Made a specific point to them in my email that I had met all of the criteria as stated at the time of purchase and I don't think there's any way for them to argue against that. Let's just wait and see whether it comes through next month.
  23. RedRoses's avatar
My card is here and its valid for 2 years so very pleased Vocuhercodes did right thing. Of course if they had simpy said they had made a msitake at the beginning I would have eft it as that and not pressed. I know we all make mistakes. But once they started to alter terms retrospectively to avoid payment it triggered me sense of justice. And for me it was all a matter of principle. No idea what to buy at Currys now.
    Ridgehead's avatar
Unless they are issuing new gift cards they expire at the end of October. The cards so far were valid for 24 months but they were issued in 2020!
I would suggest you double check with Currys before leaving it after October to use.
  24. R4pt0r's avatar
So After 5-6 emails I finally managed to get my voucher. Only problem is that they have run out of vouchers so I have to wait until they restock!
    R4pt0r's avatar
couple of emails more and I have a £75 amazon voucher!! got there in the end
  25. caj1000's avatar
Finally got mine resolved. 'Unfortunately' they have run out of Currys vouchers and so have given me an Amazon one instead. Happy days & as good as cash for me.

"an email alert will be sent to the email address you used to register with VoucherCodes within 30 business days.
    And
"Please note the £75 Curry's vouchers expires end of October 2022"

Leaves you approximately 2 weeks (maximum) to use the voucher. If you do everything very fast, like yesterday.
    Worth it!!??? (edited)

And than I ve got this in confirmation email :

"We're checking the details of your purchase to ensure they meet our requirements for the £75 Currys Voucher. If everything looks great and your purchase is eligible for the reward, a confirmation email alert will be sent to this email within 30 business days." :/

Hi, I can't find the deal. Can you post the link to the deal pls ?
    snoopy18's avatar
Have you created a voucher code account
Type in Screwfix in their website search and you’ll see it
  28. Splashmo's avatar
If it is £75 off £250 (30%) that's still decent.

...but obviously if you don't need anything from Screwfix and anything from Curry's over £250 this is not the offer for you.
  29. Nathan's avatar
    Hi all,

It looks like the voucher has a minimum spend associated (£250) and this was not listed in the deal at the time of posting - we've moved this thread to discussion so members who have tried to utilise this can discuss but we do not feel it would be appropriate to remain in deals as such a terms change wouldn't align with thread temperature.

We'll be keeping an eye on fulfilment and if anyone does get the voucher, it would be great to hear of your experience/process to get it and if it does include the min spend (edited)
    Roygroyg's avatar
Same condition with £250 is on all the Voucher Codes deals so should you not treat them all like this. For example the £10 Amazon voucher for £20 at Dunelm from last week has same reward t&cs. Ok now expired but wasn’t an issue at the time.
  30. charlie12's avatar
    It's expired on Vouchercodes now
  31. Eptesicus's avatar
I think they have changed the terms of the offer! On the vouchercode page now it says it does not include VAT, however the terms that the OP has copied makes no mention of this ( i specifcally checked this at the time too)! (edited)
    Crackers's avatar
Complete scam of a company..Will never use them again.
  32. IkkyPatel's avatar
Mine been declined they are waste of time
  33. Roygroyg's avatar
Looks like they are using cheap tricks (t&cs change) and outright lies to decline these - not had this issue in past with them but rarely used.

Mine is still at Verifying but assuming it will be declined too eventually. Already picked up stuff and things like paint but might take a few back next time passing.

My suspicion is they messed up on deal original edit in some way and so are now trying to get out of commitments in any way. It seemed too good to be true so perhaps error made.

Only bright note is I had a forgotten £10 B&Q reward from earlier in year from similar smaller deal. It has the dreaded £250 minimum purchase amount clause as per here in general t&cs but no mention of any restriction on actual voucher. (edited)
  34. Benjimoron's avatar
Only time I used Vouchercodes in the past, the voucher code didn't work causing much wasted time etc. Glad I avoided this deal, thanks for the posts warning of the scam.

They have added the VAT to point 10 in that shot, but not 2 yet. They have added it to point 2 and 10 on the latest ones.

The terms that are copied into the OP of this thread were the ones that were there and read when i made the order. There was no mention of VAT. I specifcally searched for/"find on page" etc for "VAT" on the terms before i ordered.

Massively underhand. Seems whoever made the terms and conditions forgot to add that VAT was excluded from the minimum spend and then tried to get away with just adding it after the fact, and after loads of people had ordered. Pretty sure that cannot be legal. (edited)
  37. Ad44am's avatar
Mine has been rejected due the time of the order despite ordering on the morning of the 9th . Initially they requested further details …. Does any one know when this then offer was expired
    amz84uk's avatar
Snap - I’ve had the same email from Gemma saying that I ordered at 10:15 but the offer ended at 09:53 (how convenient for them).

The thing is that I had clicked through at 1am and they generated the email to me saying that I’m eligible at 1am, so I was already in the race for this.

This Gemma initially asked for more information but has now given a new excuse to deny me.

Wow, congratulations - you seem to be one of the lucky few.

Just out of interest, what time did you place the order, and how much was the ScrewFix order for (inc VAT)?

It seems that VC are using the time and VAT of orders as an excuse.
  39. kooiyrsw's avatar
After few emails back and forth my claim has been accepted:) they said that voucher will be ready in 30 days but got it few hours later on. Whoever been rejected initially - don't give up and you will be rewarded.
