Is this suitable for drilling holes at home?
Or would I need another corded hammer drill (or something else) to be sure?
Apologies...newbie to DIY and need something as I move into my first home

Depends on what your drilling , but will be fine for most DIY needs around a home. Might struggle a little on strong bricks so you would need an sds for that. Apart from that this is a bargain

Is this one better than the stanley fatmax version for £10 more with 2 batteries? As dewalt is owned by Stanley.

AFAIK dewalt is superior is every way. That's why you see tradesman will dewalt/makita/milwaukee power tools and not stanley.

You might get more off with vouchers. It depends wether they've programmed the item on the site to reject the voucher. And sometimes if you add anything normal.
I've had a few clearance items allow further discount.

Heat. So you're aware, it's free delivery if you buy via trade point (if you have an account), and the cashback on topcashback is more for trade point too (3.4%/2%)

I am making own wardrobe in 2 weeks. Is this any good for that? MDF 18mm thickness. First DIY project so any help on what tools I need... MDF will be cut to size from the supplier.

Is this a better deal, with 2 2.0Ah batteries and a case:

This one comes with TSTAK case too.

Extra battery is definitely a bonus and sightly larger capacity but not sure if it is worth the extra £35 (or £40 as you can get another £5 off the B&Q one if you haven't signed up to their rewards yet, or if you just register a new email with them).

For comparison, you can get a 4ah battery for £40 from FFX so you could get the drill with 1 x 1.5ah & 1x 4ah for the same price as the Screwfix deal.

I saw this also earlier on and didn’t swap only because the POS said it had a slightly lesser max torque? Admittedly I haven’t checked online and just went off the ticket

was that fancy case included? The one you can stack on another?>
    Jonwillis's avatar

    Case is called tstak

Stanley make them as well, since Stanley and DeWalt are owned by the same company, just different colours.

Whilst I would go for the newer dcd796 at £60. The charger and battery are worth £37, making this drill only cost £23 with that £5 voucher which is really good if you need those parts
