Yeah YouTube is just getting ridiculous for ads ...had a trial of premium and it was good....but 12 quid or whatever it is to stop them bombarding you with ads!...no thanks .

It's bully boy tactics if you ask me

I pay £1.20 a month for YouTube premium family account so you get 5 accounts and this also counts for their music app too YouTube music - all you need to do is sign up via Argentina .

Download the free VPN app tunnelbear, change country to Argentina , then go to YouTube.com and sign in then click get premium family, when you enter your address you can just pick a random one in Argentina (i used Google maps to find a random barbers!)

Once you have done that you can assign people to that account and they have premium then too

if you already have the YouTube app it’s best to delete it before you start then reinstall after you’ve done this or YouTube won’t open in the browser and will take you to the app instead which causes problems

YouTube should change their name to: AdTube.
When the ads are on I just mute the sound and pay attention to the wife for those seconds.

Have a look at the SmartTube. It's Youtube without adverts. Designed mainly for Android TV platform but works on your phone too.

To be precise from 179ars to 699ars

I'm currently paying ARS 119 per month and, according to this article, it looks as though it is rising to ARS 389.

Having said that, it looks as though prices are rising globally, although it appears that family subscriptions are taking the biggest hit.

Rumble is a good alternative to YT, with a lot of channels moving over to it, and it's far, FAR less ad heavy. You can get the phone app and cast to your SmartTV like you can with YT too.

As Dave said. Use a VPN, set it to India, subscribe for a quid or two a month (family subscription)
    Mark_McCann's avatar
did this the other night, was shocked it was so simple, like 14 quid for the year outright.

Goodness. Something for free for a few months and most comments are still complaining.

YouTube Premium is also YouTube Music. And if you sign up with a VPN, it can be had for £1.20 a month. Bargain just for the removal of adverts. Nevermind no longer needing Spotify.

Exactly as you mentioned, we binned off Spotify eventually and though the YT Music UI can be a little bit obtuse in comparison, I don't miss it much....except maybe the Year in Review

Used TuneMyMusic.com on my laptop to export Spotify playlists -- barring some songs importing as acoustic or remixes, it was very simple.

The cost saving alone just makes it a no-brainer if you want a streaming music service, no ads is the cherry on top

Anyone else just a get a big bill rise?

Think they’ve clocked the Argentine loophole

I posted a discussion post yesterday that seems awfully appropriate reading under the circumstances for anyone looking at this:

The other option is to press the ‘i’ on the corner of the add, stop viewing ad, cancel.

Just a few seconds needed to avoid 95% of YouTube ads (even double ads) without having to pay anything 🤷🏽‍♂️

Is it better to do the VPN thing via a mobile ...or a chrome book?...or windows ...(after deleting app first ).or doesn't it matter
    Martyn_Swain's avatar
It doesn’t matter, but delete the YouTube app first then reinstall it afterward
  14. Darthpeter's avatar
£1.97 per month for full family package via India - you get Google Music as well.
Have had for a number of years now, you only have to use VPN at sign up. (edited)

Can we use the same uk bank account to sign up ?doesn’t cost exchange rate etc ?

I've never considered Youtube music before but if I can get youtube premium and youtube music for the same price that I'm currently paying for Spotify it makes good sense to move all my playlists across and get add free youtube!
  16. ayeworld's avatar
YouTube Premium is the only service I now use for music and channels. Love it.
  17. Nev92's avatar
Pretty sure I paid about 8 quid for a year from Turkey, unfortunately I need Spotify/Deezer/Amazon for my Garmin. YT Music playlists aren't the best but a big plus point is that you can play music that's uploaded to YouTube which arguably makes it the best service if you like non mainstream music. And as others have said it's worth it just for no adverts and background playback on YT
    etcuk's avatar
I listen to some really weird stuff and Spotify still has an edge even over YT Music when it gets to really obscure stuff. (edited)

Just done the turkish family sub. Works, £1.25 a month at current rates. Does this technique work for apple music or amazon music?
    Mr_Troy's avatar
may i ask what vpn you use? there's so many to pick from and i've never had one
  19. mcivoronline's avatar
Love YouTube premium. Music and video, no ads, free gift every so often. Great
  20. vixmony's avatar
So which vpn country is best? India, Turkey or Argentina?
    Martyn_Swain's avatar
Argentina , because it’s the cheapest
  21. freddyfender's avatar
trying tunnel bear...cant get turkey to show up...argentina does...showing pay monthly ....thinks its about 72p a month according to currency exchange today ....

shame ...cant seem to be able to pay with paypal
anyway picked an address and purchased with credit card
will probably have to do netflix next ...as thats getting pants for 12 quid a month as well! (edited)
    Martyn_Swain's avatar
Argentina is the cheapest country , then it’s India so don’t know why you’d pick turkey anyway ?!

moved all my music from Spotify to Youtube music only to realise on youtube music you can't even sort your music alphabetically!
  23. pxh's avatar
    Troi:

That's actually helpful thank you, the only problem is the downloaded playlist(s) are listed in the Home section and not the 'Library>songs' if i could move the playlist(s) to songs then I'd be sorted, I don't know why it isn't just listed on every option.
If you know how to move a playlist to songs i'd massively appreciate the assistance

Not sure about that. My playlists are to be found in my library.

All that appears on my home page are the usual recommendations and mixes that one has little control over. (edited)

It's only gone up to £4 for family, still cheap though

Using Google India, my payment has just been declined. Gone to update but keeps saying card issuer declined payment. Tried Halifax clarity and starling, no luck. Tried with some of UK address but still fails. Any help please

Trying to sign up for a new YouTube account, using India VPN, what did people use when it asks for phone number verification?

Hello, so how do you actually apply for the free 3 months? I can't see how it's done?
