I see this applies to things with the Black Friday deals badge. Im more interested in products that aren’t in the black Friday deals yet that might be during next week. This wouldn’t cover that. Every time there’s been a price drop they’ve made me send the whole lot back and re-order.

In situations like this I always place the order for Amazon delivery day, then set the day as far in the future as possible. If the price goes down I cancel and reorder before the original order has even been dispatched. It also gives me time to think whether I actually need a deal I've seen on here or not!

Quick edit to add that sometimes Amazon doesn't give you the option of Amazon Day, especially on low cost items that are dispatched via Royal Mail, but sometimes they also don't offer it when they are really busy with orders i.e. on the actual BF and Prime day. (edited)

How to read this: amazon's guarantee that those items won't drop in price and you won't be getting a deal
    SebK's avatar
Unofficial hack. All products purchased now can be returned until 31 of January. If price drop just order new one and return on old receipt.

Seems shortsighted they stopped the refund of the difference if price drops after you purchased a while back anyway. The number of times I've ended up buying again and returning is substantial.
    matwalaboy's avatar
Yes, I just returned and rebought 7 items I purchased in the last 2 weeks alone - it would have been nice to just get a refund on the difference rather than the return and rebuy dance - plus the wastage of postal cost and ecological costs etc notwithstanding.

Keep an eye out for 'Black Friday' designated items you've purchased that
    a) Have not dropped in price
    b) But now have a 10% voucher or say a £5 off voucher

This is not registered as a Price Drop - and no refund will be due
  5. matwalaboy's avatar
So would the refund happen automatically or you have to talk to CS to get it sorted? Thanks
    ImhereforDealz's avatar
Description says refund will be processed automatically
  6. blanka's avatar
    Would be nice!

Just wanted to weigh in and say I got automatically refunded £10 for Hyperx wireless headphones that I purchased during Black Friday. I didn't have to ask or anything.
  8. Katro16's avatar
    Should be discussion not deal
  9. adrian.ionete's avatar
Guys check the price with pricespy or other sites. Most of these " black Friday deals" are fake and quite illegal. Don't get fooled.
    chamelion's avatar
Having a different price to others is illegal? Lol. (edited)
  10. sinxa's avatar
Crap. Should be, if you purchased a product with a Black Friday badge between October 1st and November 17th for more, we will refund the difference.
    jungleboy123's avatar
Great, so i bought a lot of stuff before today. Sure it will be discounted. Now i have to re-order on BF sale, send back what i just bought/ get refund.
  11. Rya's avatar
When the hell is black Friday officially? I have read 3 different days.
    kooks65's avatar
The Friday after Thanksgiving so it is usually the last Friday in the month, the 25th this year.
  12. XXXIshaqus's avatar
Just been refunded a few pounds on some face washes I purchased during black friday.
  13. Andy_Reinlo's avatar
Just to counter some of the comments, I bought something on prime day and a little while later I got an email out the blue saying the were refunding me a few quid as it had gone down furhter! Didnt even know it had and I didnt request anything just in the money went.
  14. Joseph_jir's avatar
Has anyone received anything about their partial refund/price match refund?

Contacted customer service after a £300 drop in an already discounted item and they are asking me to do the return/re-order process. Seems like a false ad so far?
    Meathotukdeals's avatar
the banner says "automatically". maybe the people on CS just don't know or can't get involved in the system other than the old way.
  15. WarriStu's avatar
Amazon are denying all knowledge of this of this offer. Something I bought in Black a Friday deal was reduced by £5 today but I didn’t take a screenshot. I spoke to customer services who did not know about this price difference refund offer. By time the chat had finished the price of product had increased so they were unable to offer me a refund of the difference.
  16. pistachio's avatar
5th December does not mean anything. I call this a deal If they can extend until 5th January.
    skgwho's avatar
    My thoughts exactly...
  17. Fadd_Lo_Lun_Mera's avatar
Amazon all the way, I hope they takeover all sales and no high street other online retailers are left. Other business should learn from amazon the basics of customer service.
    RichardH81's avatar
You do realise that if there is no competition then Amazon will just up their prices?
  18. DonBhaiyya's avatar
i asked them about Ghost of Tsushima yesterday the directors cut ps5. Was on for 34.99 on Amazon and i asked if they can price match to 29.99 (Argos) they said no… 5 minutes later price dropped to 29.99 (edited)

If you had earned $5,000 each and every day from the year 1493 onwards, you’d still have less money than Jeff Bezos, even after his expensive divorce.
    redbox9's avatar
If you earned $500,000 per year and worked for 80,000 years you still wouldn't have as much as elon musk just paid for twitter.

Amazon CS is one of a kind. I ordered 4 shampoos and only 3 arrived. I contacted Amazon via chat. I've been told I'll get a refund. Next day I have refund for all I have paid for 4 items, no return needed.....
    Dannyrobbo's avatar
I find amazon CS is good until one edge case and it’s a nightmare.  Petrol lawn mower I bought was faulty and did not have the B&S engine it was advertised as and trying to return it was painful took actual months of back and forth to get it refunded.

on the most part they are okay.
  21. jakehume's avatar
Great I know the real deals start on 6th December then (edited)
  22. deleted335434's avatar
damn amazon used to do this by default before. I wish it was just a permanent thing again, saves a lot of hassle for everyone
  23. fishLuke's avatar
Most items are free returns until end of January so you can always do the price match that way as well.
  24. The.Fat.Cat's avatar
What Amazon want you to think -

Buy this now, and if the price drops you'll be refunded the difference

    What the really mean -

We want to encourage as many people as possible to buy the product now, at this price.
There's no chance we're going to sell it for less, but you don't know that!
  25. timphillips00's avatar
It’s more of a physiological trick. More people will buy at the ‘higher’ price, due to this guarantee. The items will then sell out, mitigating the need to reduce the price.
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Exactly, no need to reduce the price if this 'offer' has convinced everyone to buy everything they wanted now.
  26. sam.hkud's avatar
Good they did this . I bought Eufy vacuum on Amazon Prime Day . Same day the price dropped further . They won't reduce the price so I had to buy another and get refund on one bought at higher price. Then it would not show as received for long time on Amazon website even though courier website showed as received by Amazon . Until I complained they did not refund. (edited)
    Doyl's avatar
I once bought an item and before it was even sent off they reduced the price by like half. I contacted support asking to refund the difference, they wouldn't and I couldn't even cancel the order to reorder it not sure how much I'd rely on this deal being honoured but like you said it's nice they're offering it
  27. Jennyob1's avatar
I'd be happy if Amazon ONLY sold what they have in stock.

My order of November 4th has had its "due date" pushed back TWICE (on the due dates) in the past 6 weeks, and now (fer the third) I'm to receive an email when in stock yet the very same item is available vie AMAZON FRESH...TODAY if I wanted.
    sam.hkud's avatar
My order of last prime day has now delivery date of 4th December. Before they offered 24 months 0% finance, today only offering 12 month 0% finance on same item . So I did not cancel. (edited)

Jeff Bezos for president of the world.
    digweed's avatar
    Um no!
  29. Mickysafc's avatar
Not a deal... Same as every other retailer at the moment
  30. Amazing's avatar
Just like prime day, they slap a black friday banner on the item you want even though it's the same price as a few days ago.
  31. sasuke0's avatar
Seems like they're becoming competitive again after sales drop. Always recommend shopping elsewhere when possible
  32. Monkeybumcheeks's avatar
Does this mean that the 29th November is the real date to grab a bargain :/
  33. JohnMckinnon's avatar
So everything is going to be cheaper in january and they want you to buy now
  34. praevalens's avatar
i ordered an item on Tuesday, no black friday badge, but today it is in black friday, do i get a refund or not? How unnecesarily convoluted.
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
If it was sold/dispatched by Amazon, they will refund you the difference.
  35. 19DembaBa19's avatar
Amazon want to keep all the customers to themselves because there are too many deals out there. They can't match the prices so they want you to get it from them then they will refund the difference. I have got 100 orders with them and there is no loyalty
    sam.hkud's avatar
Very big risk unless they agree before buying
  36. italkapple's avatar
    Nice
  37. CourseFinder's avatar
been watching 2 cameras and charger adapter for Google pixel 6 pro everything is more expensive than it was before or stayed the same . If don't go don't on 25th November I will pass them 'magnificent', offers
  38. consolegamer's avatar
Nice way of trying to get that cash flow in now, because they know the price won't go down!
    sam.hkud's avatar
Price will now go down on Boxing 🥊 Day and New Year s Eve. Most electronic items start going down in price around January February.
  39. kooks65's avatar
I bought a few bits from Amazon yesterday, came to £35, looked today and the same items come to £40!
    sam.hkud's avatar
They have surge pricing. The first few get a discount,, then price keeps on going up . Wait few days it may come down again. (edited)
  40. pablo_el_diablo's avatar
Anyone tried and sent back mattress to reorder? It's now £35 cheaper than when I bought it 2 weeks ago. It's rolled double 37kg and they don't want to talk about refunding the difference...
    BargainLovingMum's avatar
I recently sent a mattress back as they sent the incorrect size and it was straight forward. They call to give you a time slot and then call 30 minutes before arriving
