As always to get the bonus points, follow these guidelines:

1) Auctions must end and be paid for within the one-hour window.
2) BIN offers should be made, accepted and paid for within the one-hour window. You can make the offer outside of the window but it is risky because you don't know if it has an auto-accept or when a seller will accept it. If you get a counter offer then see (3).
3) BIN seller and counter offers must be accepted and paid for within the one-hour window.
4) BINs at asking price must be purchased and paid for within the one-hour window.
5) BIN with auction listings are not eligible unless the bonus shows on the listing and checkout.
6) Don't activate other (e.g. worse) Nectar offers because it does not always prioritise the best one.
7) Bonus points showing at checkout is not a guarantee. You will only get them if you've followed these guidelines.
8 ) If your expected points aren't showing on this page then you won't get them - reward1.ebay.co.uk/rwd…ain
9) Finalise your orders by 12:45 at the latest because order processing can take a long time.
10) Points take a couple of days to be credited to your Nectar balance.

If using this, make sure to use a browser that has no ad blocker installed to give a best chance of it being tracked. Also the item has to be checked out and paid for before the 1pm deadline, so don't leave it till the last minute.
    plewis00's avatar
To be fair you shouldn’t need to as at checkout it says how many points you will get including bonus ones - it’s not ‘tracked’ in the same way as Quidco/TCB, if you’re logged in and Nectar is linked with this activated, you’ll get the offer.

so is that effectively a 15% discount?
    ando's avatar
Ye I think so, upto 300 base points and 9000 total, 9000 points is £45 on a £300 purchase or 15%

Pretty good bonus points deal for once, just need something to buy now (edited)

    Don't forget TCB 5%

The safest way is a simple Buy it Now of one item with no vouchers or other discounts etc from just after 12 to 12:45 where the ebay checkout will explicitly show the nectar points. There is no other tracking as such. Last year there was a raised TCB too IIRC. (edited)

Does the ebay confirmation email specify the additional points (30x) ? My order went through at sharp 1300 and order confirmation on website (i took a screenshot) saying that I will receive 7980 points. However ebay email came at 1307.
    charlie12's avatar
It doesn't. The best check is on this page. If it's not there then you won't get the points.

For anyone wondering what happened: It's 25th Nov, NOT TODAY (18th Nov).

as a lot of other people have said... pay by 1245!!! plus i would recommend screenshotting the final screen after payment has completed which has the expected nectar points.

i made payment last year at 1255 but it didnt complete until a few seconds after 1. luckily i had screenshotted the nectar points screen and after a month of multiple webchats i finally convinced one of them to honour the points and i received them..

Remember, remember, remember to pay atleast before 12:45
The till 1pm is abit of a con, for the same promotion last year I paid at 12:51 but the transaction with eBay didn't go through till 1.02pm so never got the necter points
    ebjp's avatar
I was the same but they did pay out in the end if you managed to get to chat to UK ebay customer services.

Cut off is 12.45-12.50. Order after that time then they will hold the order until 13.01 so you won't get the points.

I squeezed in at 12:59 last year and had no issues, must have been lucky

Not as good as last year with 50x points

Checked my Nectar on eBay and only showing 300 + 1200 = 1500 for £1,200 purchase. Should have been 9000 bonus as was ordered @ 12:00.01 .

Just off the phone to Nectar and she said it could take up to 28 days to show on the account, but since ebay is showing the wrong values, I suspect I'll need to wait until these are showing on Nectar incorrectly, and call them then. Contact details below in case anyone else needs to contact them once their points hit if they are not what you were expecting...

"You can also contact Nectar by emailing nectar_helpline@custhelp.com or calling 0344 811 0811 (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm; Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am to 5:00pm)" (edited)

Hi, did you see at the checkout page showing "9000 nectar points" before you made the payment? I got the same issue. I have opted in for both 5X and 30X offer, both not used before I place the order yesterday. I was waiting till Power hour start and make sure that the point showing at check out page changed from 1500 to 9000 (to make sure 30X applied instead of 5X). After I made the purchase, the order confirmation page also showing 9000 nectar points collected. However, few minutes later I found the activity list as 300+1200=1500 points, just like you...I was arguing with Ebay and Nectar from 1pm to 4pm...

Nectar claimed that no activation record for my 30X offer in their system while I did opt in and the page was showing 9000nectar. They keep asking me to provide screenshot of activation confirmation page and pages showing 9000 nectar during the order process. After I got angry and start complaining, they change their word to sth like "the system linked your order to the 5X offer instead of the 30X one. we cannot remove offer and re-apply the 30X one for you, if 9000 points showing, you might ask ebay... blah blah blah..."

Nectar said that I need to contact Ebay, and Ebay said that they need to ask nectar...

The contact Nectar gave me was 08003583229 / 03453553229 , that should be a ebay number. I didn't call yet as I prefer solving the issue by text because of my poor english oral and listening skill. If anyone experiencing the similar issue and have any update, please share>_<

Thanks, heated. Anyone know if this will work with an auction that ends before the window. Say if I win something on the night of the 24th and pay in the power hour, I'll get the points?

I think the deal is only on buy it now purchases

Nectar Power Hour: back for Black Friday!
A big bonus awaits... when you shop refurb, pre-loved & more.
Does this mean it's only on refurb, preloved & whatever more is? Because it specifies those, it does not specify Everything.
When you go to the t&c's it's just regular Nectar T&C's not specific to this offer. Trust them to make it confusing.... (edited)
    John_Croft33S's avatar
Yup, some on here say you can buy anything but thats not what im reading, it looks like in order to get this deal you need to buy 2nd hand, or refurbished and as you say whatever more is, it doesnt look like its for anything thats new like it was last year

Black Friday is just one big Ripoff over here in the UK, these days. Why do you think they call this country Ripoff Briton. They are all at now if the Goverment can getaway with then why not.

I mean, relying on a best offer reply is a risky business for just a one hour window.

What if they accept after 1pm?

Just buy it at the buy it now price. (edited)

Anyone know when the points will show on Nectar? Got confirmation email at 12:07 and was showing on the item but nothing other than normal points showing on my nectar activity
    charlie12's avatar
Within a couple of days. It hasn’t even been a day yet.

If the points are showing on this page then you will get them and there is nothing more to do than wait:

Buy something with a returns option get the points redeem ebay vouchers and send it back. Then get a new nectar card which isn't in negative points
    Jacinto_Fernandes's avatar
Just buy an item from yourself. No need to complicate with returns
  25. Awesomeness-in-your-mouth's avatar
    quick question.

Is this based on when you 'win' the item or when you pay?

The reason is simple, I can 'win' today and with the agreement of the seller I hold back paying until the offer is active.

I suspect its when you pay due to the tracking - if that is the case then it's easy to plan and get the promotion.
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
Am pretty sure people tried this last year and it didn't work.
Maybe only if you win the item AND complete payment both within the hour.
  26. luckylemon's avatar
If I use Nectar voucher for this purchase, will I get 10x Nectar points?
    Crossbow's avatar
I reckon... as long as you spend at least £10 on an eligible item, *after* applying your saved Nectar voucher(s), you should be eligible for 30x points.
For example, if you have a £10 voucher, spend at least £20 on an eligible item, to ensure the minimum £10 spend.

Sorry for dumb question not familiar with this offer. How can I know which items are enabled for the offer? Thanks

Thank you OP for sharing with us. 🏼 (edited)

It applies to anything on eBay: that's why the couple of times per year these pop up, they are very popular.

So I just made a big purchase, can I wait and pay next Friday to take advantage?

    no

Is £300 the max amount I can spend to qualify for the 9000 points (£45 worth)?

You can spend more, but you will be limited to 9000 points.

Is there a maximum amount of points they'll give you? I have my eye on something that's £720 and £110 worth of points would be jolly spiffing.

"Max 1 item, 9,000 points worth at least £45."

Does anyone know if I accept an offer then pay tomorrow during this time whether that would be ok or would I have to accept the offer too tomorrow? (edited)

No - see the Additional Info in the OP

Just to clarify please, I have a BIN offer sent to me by a seller today. Valid for 48hrs..if I counter it and they accept and I pay between 12 and 1245 is that valid? I think it is reading the OPs original post. Thanks
    TheJMan's avatar
No but it will say at checkout the points. Take a screenshot and video. Then you will need to raise it with CS

Maybe speak to the seller as u need to counter it within the time (edited)

I have just bought two identical items in a multi-item listing (so saving a few pennies already set up by the seller) and have received the 30x points on the total, not just the first item.
    charlie12's avatar
Yes identical items from the same seller stacks the bonus, just like last time.
