Disappointingly, all the references to the £1 Game Pass Ultimate technique for acquiring 3 years worth of Game Pass Ultimate cheaply people like myself had kindly added to this thread this afternoon have disappeared. I can only assume they were all deemed off topic.

As people are still asking for information on this perfectly legitimate and MS sanctioned technique I’d suggest they Google XBox Game Pass Ultimate conversion or something similar for a detailed explanation and guidance of the process.

Had a bit of a scare with this one. First time I tried doing the conversion method and it went horribly wrong for me. Everything was fine up until purchasing gamepass ultimate. I tried putting in the code I bought from cdkeys, to which I was given a warning message simply stating "It looks like something went wrong, but we can help". I tried again on my xbox, and even tried attempting to purchase a full month for £10.99, but still got the same message.

So I contacted Microsoft via webchat. The agent cancelled my 36 months of xbox live gold and asked me to purchase 1 month gamepass ultimate. I used the cdkeys code, which worked this time. The agent then converted this to 36 months of game pass ultimate.

To anyone having issues, contact Microsoft. They seem to be very helpful.

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but I've got some questions about Xbox game sharing (as it would work out cheaper than buying GPU):


My partner's kids have just bought an Xbox. I initially thinking that I'd sort out the Xbox Live Gold method and stack 3 years of GPU for about £100. However, I'm considering setting up their console for game sharing with my GPU (I haven't done this before, or seen it working).

1 - If I set their console up as my Home console, what difference if any does it make to my console? Do I need to sign in each time?

2 - If they want to download a game pass game they don't currently have, do they have to use my account on their console to download the game? If they access my game profile, can't they then potentially just buy content without my permission?

3 - If I setup sign preferences on my game account on their console, to prevent them accessing my game account, will I still be able to auto-sign in on my Xbox?

4 - The child accounts are managed by their mother (age restrictions, purchases, limit hours of play). Does this affect anything with game sharing?

I did resolve it in the end, but took multiple attempts at trying things. In the end what worked for the 3rd key I think was had to change my account region settings as well as microsoft store settings to Turkey. Even after than at the VPN set up - it still wasn't working. I used the pc abox app in the end and eventually that worked, but had failed before many times. I also had a browser VPN and PC VPN running (both extension and app) from windscribe.
I'm not going to bother next time - too much hassle trying to redeem the final key. I'll buy keys from my region instead. I even used the Ultimate upgrade through the microsoft store for £10.99 as I couldn't be dealing with the hassle of more keys.

Anyway done now, but not worth the hours I spent with the troublesome 3rd key.
