No subscription required for running it's only required for cycling (edited)

Does anyone know if you need to pay for subscription in addition to this product?

So I can pop this on my trainer and join a swift run via my treadmill and have a screen in front ? Never used zwift but would love to try this.

Yes, you can either just run alone, join an event (if one is going at that time) or use a pacemaker who will run at a certain pace to see if you can keep up/pass them. Been using it a while, works quite well.

Thanks for posting - I have looked at this previously. Think I will give it a go. Can you also link your Garmin watch to Zwift, so it can get heart rate data?
    twoquidkev's avatar
If you have a decent Garmin you don't need the pod, you can connect directly from the watch. And yes you can broadcast your HR too if the watch allows.

    Great deal, ordered one. Thanks

Does anyone have recommendations for a tablet that works well with Zwift? I was looking at the refurb dell XPS 13 that were on here a few days ago thinking they may be good.

I don't know how I'd secure it to the treadmill to make sure it didn't slide/bounce off - any advice on this too?

In case it's useful for anyone else asking the same questions, there's an article here leaguefeed.net/bes…ft/
which recommends the same devices that Ridg already mentioned plus some supporting text to warn about the limitations of the cheaper options

I used one of these for a while. For the price they are pretty good. Not all that accurate though. I purchased a Stryd in the end, which is phenomenal but also not far off £200.

I have the xterra trx3500 which has Bluetooth built in so no need for the run pod, however, I find it feels extremely hard to run easy paces than I would run outside. Maybe that’s a thing with treadmills, who knows. For example- my Apple Watch had my indoor run pace at 4:17 per km once, whereas treadmill said 5:00 per km. Sure felt like the 4:17!

Would be interested in a cheap pod to see if things were any different, is this worth it or is the data going to be all over the place? (edited)

I think treadmills are highly under calibrated, I be running like a dog and covers very little distance vrs outside running. If I run flat out at 16kmh on treadmill I'm only getting 4min k's

Is a subscription required to use this? Planning on getting a treadmill soon and this might ease the boredom

Don't expect any degree of accuracy from this at all. But it's cheap enough to get you going to see if you like running on Zwift.

NPE Runn however is pretty accurate. More money but once it's setup you can basically forget about it.

Anyone know of any treadmills around with 50% off?

First time using it today. Just a quick 5k to have a look and really enjoyed it. Only used my phone but now looking to put the app on a pad for a bigger screen or cast the screen maybe to a led TV?

I didn't get mine yet must be in the slow post. I was hoping to use a USB C to HDMI cable but not 100% it will work

I can't really see how this can be that accurate. I'm sure it's not too bad... just can't figure out how it can possible be precise.

We have an NPE RUNN, which is more expensive but exactly measures the speed of the treadmill belt, I. E. exactly how fast you are moving.

I wasn’t aware, and it would’ve saved me from ordering, but apparently you can connect your Apple Watch to Zwift for your pace and HR for running and cycling.

    Would have saved me £25

But not for speed only heart rate?

Silly question. Why is the Zwift app so huge? 1.2 Gigabytes???
    ooMIKEYoo's avatar
Because it’s a huge virtual world, and is contained within the app rather than streamed (I think)
