Issue with TCL is that the picture quality is awesome but on a lot of their TVs, even the expensive £700+ ones, the UI and processor specs are dreadful and you have a laggy interface. Thats what mines like. It uses Google TV too so it's not like its just bad TCL software, it must just be them skimping out on the OS processor. Even things like pressing the volume button isn't instant. Not sure which processor this has and TV manufacturers(apart from Sony maybe) make it impossible to find out and we often have to rely on getting the specs(processor and memory) from people who bought the TV.

Wouldn't be so bad if reviews also reviewed this stuff but they dont. Almost all of them are onlyyy about the image quality with a brief mention that it runs Google TV or whatever and "all the usual apps are avaliable" blah blah great reviewing.

So yeah this could have a newer much smoother processor than their last years TVs but it might not. Either check videos or find a review that mentions UI stuff. Or if you use an external UI device like nvida shield then it doesn't matter much

50/50 reviews apparently only 60hz TV yet advertised as 100hz

Typical deceptive Marketing from TCL/ Hisense etc. types of brands!

Avoid this brand. Software runs like
    BraddersJ's avatar
It's not this brand... It's this price point. Put your hands in pocket and spend more if you don't want compromises.
It's totally worth it as it's an incredible panel for the money (edited)

Wait for the c735k to drop (edited)

What are the main advantages over this?

    Is this good?
    ryan.english's avatar
No. Panel is fine but software is terrible. Videos freeze and stutter and controls are laggy.

I can't find a single youtube review on this, which isn't encouraging. (edited)

You really want RTINGS for reviews - accept no less.

Unfortunately, RTINGS don't review the EU TCL/Hisense models

But this site is just as good

The C635 is available here for £389 comet.co.uk/pro…-55 similar but newer model

I thought Comet went bust years ago. Is this a legit website ?

Is this really a good deal ? The Hisense for £599 gives you OLED and 120 Hz, I know it's more but is it over the life of 5 years of owning the device..
    BraddersJ's avatar
The OP a good deal, yes.
That's not to say the Hisense is a bad deal (it's a great deal) - but it's 50% more, so apples and oranges etc.

TLDR: if you can afford it and OLED is suitable for you then go for the Hisense, absolutely

What makes it a gaming tv more than any other tv?
    MattJC's avatar
I'd be cautious getting this for a gaming TV. Reading reviews on Amazon state its a normal 60hz panel, the stated 100hz seems to be a software gimmick in reaching that. And even if the panel was 100hz, that's still lower than the 120hz required for ps5/xbox s/x, so you'd still only get 60hz.

HDMI is also only 2.0, so definitely wouldn't get 4k/120hz (if the panel was 120hz, which it ain't)

Never understand folk saying the smart features are slow on TCL...Not my experience. i have the C635K 65 incher in the bedroom..I have a nvidia shield hooked up, so use that 90 per cent of the time, but when i use the telly smart features, i find it absolutely fine.....If it had a better remote it would actually be decent for a telly speed wise.
The shield remote is a thing of beauty.....Best remote bar none...
Picture quality on these TCLs are outstanding..
    BraddersJ's avatar
Try the TV guide it's frustratingly slow (although I still wholeheartedly recommend this TV at this price) (edited)

Can the PS5 and Xbox Series X take advantage of a 100hz TV? Or is it either 60 or 120 and that's it?
    Paul_f1's avatar
Not sure,I think anything plugged into HDMI comes up as 60hz,for me but only tried a firestick,I think the main tv antenna is 100hz,but I can't be sure

TCL are usually gimped on HDMI in the UK market, america and Europe get 2.1 ports/120hz 4k ect (edited)

For someone that just wants it for an android TV (using IPTV) which is best? This deal or this other one on Amazon for £40 less - amazon.co.uk/dp/…h=1
    Paul_f1's avatar
    This because it's a qled,better picture
  14. johnptr126's avatar
It's pretty good price for the size but "Refresh rate 100 Hz" advertising this when I can promise it's just 60 hz regular panel its shady marketing.
  15. Tim66's avatar
If it’s not HDMI 2.1 then why advertise it as gaming I can’t see it on the specs
  16. rowly73's avatar
Good buy for the price !

If it was the 65" I would be all over this if it was around the £500mark (edited)
  17. Paul_f1's avatar
Have the 65" of this tv,it's fantastic, can't fault it tbh,the software is slightly clunky but perfectly usable paid £479 worth every penny

Still good price for the 55" heat 🔥

Buy it,you won't regret it (edited)

    This or the Samsung AU9000?
    BraddersJ's avatar
Samsung TVs tend to be pretty poor value for money.

  20. BraddersJ's avatar
I have the sister (slightly lesser model, PxxxxK) and it's great for the money. It's actually quite difficult to spot issues except for the obvious brightness limitation at this price point (so don't expect 'proper' HDR).
Panel uniformity should be great/better than any LED-LCD Samsung (or any other brand tbh).

If this has the same speaker setup as mine, it's not particularly great... But again, 'price point'.

Most questions about the TV should be mentioned in here for those that haven't seen the link

Got a TCL 55 Qled at Christmas, can't fault it. Picture is great and software runs with no problems, IPTV Smarters runs really well in fact done away with my fire TV cube and just use the native software. (edited)

Was looking for a tv with a good pic from the shops that do 5/6 Yr grtee but those that have these specs on those sites are more than £150 more expensive. Thats too much for an extra 3 or 4 yrs gtee. I'll take my chances. (edited)
  25. adamguest1985's avatar
Reading the specs this is a lot of TV for the price.
  26. Old_King_Doran's avatar

What are the viewing angles like on these? Recently got the Hisense £200 offer for 43 inch and viewing angles are awful. Lucky that is for bedroom so not a problem but need something to replace and old samy LCD which doesn't want to die but has great viewing angles.

    aboakingaccident's avatar
826 is definitely better. Hardly ever at this price but looking out for it!
  33. Amazonianman's avatar
Wouldn't touch this with a barge pole! Get an LG or Sony instead!

Been trying to research this.... Can anyone shed any light. Would this be a good TV for Xbox series s? I know max output from console is 1440p at 120hz. Playing Forza 5 currently which I see only does 1080p @ 60hz on series s. I do feel I would like the 120hz option in the TV but don't need this to be at 1440p/4k..... Arghhh

The proliferation of TCL tvs makes my head hurt. I know all about the hdmi 2.1 fiasco of the 2021 models but if I’m not next gen gaming, will this be on par with the latest c735k series in terms of picture quality? Cheers!
    Paul_f1's avatar
    Yeah

I don't get how which magazine can say that these tcls have the worst standard definition they've saw and that the Samsung AU9000 is a best buy, but then other so called expert websites say different.... Something fishy going on! Lol
    BraddersJ's avatar
From memory, when I last looked at Which's TV reviews (a long time ago), I decided not to give them much weight. Possibly because they weren't in depth enough (e.g. like RTINGS)/didn't justify their science (edited)
