sorted byThe issue appears to be software rather than hardware based and cant imagine they're writing completely different drivers but who knows. At least they're aware of the issue and issue a fix.
If you do buy it just make sure to download the Samsung Magician software to check for updates.

This is a fantastic offer for Samsung gen 3. If you are in the market for gen 4 or trying to buy an SSD for PS5 then obviously you don't need to come and say gen 4 is better.
As someone who has been trying to upgrade his boot drive on a laptop from 5 years ago that won't fully utilize gen 4, this ticks all the boxes. It has the capacity I want, from Samsung, has DRAM, Gen 3 and a very decent TWR (1200). For me, what's not to like!!! I was starting to lose hope from the other deals on dramless, low TWR and while cheap it won't be the best.
The comments above talking about how gen 4 is better or some cheaper brand has bla bla bla are very ignorant and don't know that everyone's needs are different.

If you are in the market for similar needs as mine, this is a brilliant deal. It can get cheaper in the future tho but I have been struggling to find good deals on a good gen 3 for a while. Gen 4 however has lots of better deals and sometimes cheaper than gen 3. (edited)
I don’t know how significant that is, but sometimes that is ignored in favour of metrics that are insignificant for the majority.

If I was buying today, I'd probably get a 2TB Gen 4 drive instead.
