I've got an Epson ET-2720 Printer and I really like it. I'm not a heavy or commercial user, just an average home user that prints the occasional document and postage label. It's been well over a year and I've barely used a quarter of the supplied ink.

One of the problems I had with previous cartridge printers is that the ink dries and the printer will go through a clean cycle and waste ink. I'd go through ink cartridges like there's no tomorrow despite very minimal printing. These Ecotanks printers, although pricier than the regular cartridge inkjets, are worth it in my opinion.

The app printing makes things easier. It could do with some refinement. The print and scan quality is as expected from an all-in-one inkjet. And photo printing is a bust, as is with all inkjets in this price range.

Ive been considering getting this for a while but the reviews seem very mixed. Lots of negative reviews about no air print and connectivity issues

No airprint sucks but it has epson connect so it’s fine, you can email the printer or just use the app.

Love my Epson EcoTank, print an average amount for a small business at home and get through two bottles of black and one bottle of colour each year. Very reliable and good quality too.. Can't rate them enough..

How much does the ink cost for this printer?

Looks like the cheapest price for a decent printer.....HOT

Can't remember what I paid a few years ago, but I'm glad I bought it. Was sick of all those basic printers eating ink on limited printing. I probably only print around 8-15 sheets a week and I'm still on the original ink that I filled at the start and it's not even less than half yet. Great printer - no issues printing any type of docs or from phones

I've got one of these and they are really good. I can print wireless using the Epson print app on Android & iPhone. It's a lot more economical than buying cartridges, especially if you don't mind using 3rd party ink

Heat Added!! Been looking for an EcoTank Printer for a while, this is by FAR the cheapest I've ever seen one.

Went to Costco in Bristol this evening (01/03) and they had loads left on a pallet next to the TV's.

Got home set it up. Initially dissapointed thinking the colours weren't great, but sought advice online and changed to better quality paper, downloaded the specific driver and PERFECT.
Found some glossy photo paper I had lying around and printed a photo through the Epson App and I'd say the quality is on par with the same photo I had printed at Snapfish. For the price, factoring in the low cost of ink also, its needless to say I'm massivley impressed.

Negatives- it's a little noisey while printing (and priming!). The app is functional and not overly refined, but just does what you need it to. It also feels weirdly lightweight so I'm not sure what that means in terms of build quality and therefore reliability, but as I've only had it 6 hours I can't really comment- plus with the Costco 2 year warranty should be a non-issue (I hope).

    TL:DR- For the money, flawless...

Wouldn't mind a decent Eco Tank for printing Midjourney and other AI generator upscales.

For anyone that doesn't know, Midjourney creates pictures which are effectively too small for printing, but there are various paid for and open source upscalers which can do a fantastic job of upscaling the AI generated art.

    Here's an example >

AI (Machine learning) is becoming very adept now at rapid prototyping and art generation, it will be at an unimaginable place in 5 years from now and will be the tools of everyday life. 10 years from now it is unimaginable what will be possible such is the rapid advance of this technology. The world is about to rapidly change as we approach the singularity (I think 30-50 years away for that, but possibly before). (edited)

What's the print quality like for printing photo's and images requiring a high resolution? I'm interested in this due to the fact the ink lasts for a long time. Reading this it appears that the wireless printing is no good or is there no support for Apple only i.e. Airprint. Can you print from an Android Device wirelessly?

If you want photo printing you really want a six ink like the Canon G550 (no scanner) or G650 three in one. Here is a review of the G650 to show how good it is at printing photos and on a reasonable budget. This will be fine for photos but the six inks are superb, albeit flawed in other ways.

Upgraded the one for work from an ancient laser. Very happy it's using just 10-20w when printing. Laser sucks 400-600w.

Something to note if you're having problems getting it to print and it says 'searching' for printer or searching for wifi Direct connect and doesn't get past that. Wifi pickup range with this printer isn't the best. In the end, I had to move the printer to room much closer to the router in order for it to properly connect with my phone and tablets and then it worked fine. You don't need the Epson app that in frustration I downloaded (was glad to uninstall it, invasiveness/privacy wise.)

Again, generally, though construction of the plastic parts is flimsy, a little more so than most flimsy modern printers, I'm happy with the printer, the mechanism at least doesn't sound cheap/strained, and would recommend if you're fed up with ink cartridges/inconsistent third party cartridges, or with the mess and hassle of refilling cartridges, if your printer even allows that.
