I think we're coming to the point soon whereby the improvements in each iteration of a phone model just don't in any way, shape or form justify spending £700+ on the newest release. I've currently got a Huawei P30 Pro which I purchased in November 2019, and it amazes me how so few phones have a better camera than it. I'd love to see phone manufacturers release new phones at around the £400-500 mark at most, but it will never happen when so many people are willing to part with double that and more.

Not sure what my aim was with that rather long sentence , but it just amazes me people parting with over a grand with the current economic state of the country. Granted this deal includes a contract, but still.

I've now moved on from the p30 Pro having got this in 512gb with the excellent Samsung promotions that were running. The overall outlay will be around £700 once I sell the p30 Pro which is pretty darn good. If you were in the fence about upgrading the now expired deals were the ones to have considered...

As for comparing the 2 handsets the s23 ultra really is a good solid upgrade. So much faster in operation across all areas, the camera is a noticeable upgrade (image stabilisation for example is very impressive!, and better low light dynamic range) and of course 512gb...p30 pro does all the same the s23 ultra is much better.
I really held off upgrading mainly due to camera but can't be happier at the moment I've made the switch. (edited)

when trading in my flip 3, it's put a price of £180 trade in value, but then there's talk of an extra £150 ? How does this work? is the £180 inclusive of the trade in or not? (edited)

Meant to add.... the speakers are pretty fantastic for a phone

Also ID mobile. £1265 total for the 512 gb model with £425 upfront and £34.99 monthly. May represent better value for some.

Wouldn't it be better to use the upfront money to buy a phone to trade in to samsung, not sure if it still works but you could get the 23 ultra with galaxy watch 5 pro for about £1100 including topcashback, then get a sim card separate but i'm not sure they are still doing this offer anymore. That was with a broken s21 ultra 256gb trade in. keeping hold of my mate 20 pro just now. I am hoping it will get android update coming through to keep up with security updates. It retains battery well and works well.

got the 1TB version from samsung on day 1 for about £1k, thats without headphones and no contract so I feel this deal is decent but not fantastic. I do however really like the phone, battery life is fantastic, performance, camera screen etc are all great.

With the extra £150 trade in, this is actually quite a good deal. The extra £150 works oddly as well - for example, I have an S21 Ultra 256GB. They offer £190 for it as standard, and £425 as part of the promotion (so actually £235 extra?).

With the Buds and only £30 per month, and with no increase this year, this is looking very good to me... Just have to convince the wife now

You can't use the trade in bonus offer with the deal for the free galaxy buds, according to their customer support

Edit: just chatted to someone else and had it confirmed that you can use the offers together, I have ss of the chats if you ever require it (edited)

RPI increases are pretty crazy across the board this year and you'll be getting slapped with those just about after a month

EDIT: looks like this won't get RPI increases in April (edited)

Strange how they've took the ram down to 8gb in the 256gb model, compared to 12gb in the s22u
  15. SnoopZakaDaVe's avatar
Unfortunately you can't get the galaxy buds and use the 150 trade in bonus offer so it's one or the other
    absolutebeginner's avatar
Just had it confirmed on the phone that both offers are available together.

Is the £38.99 a month 512gb s23 ultra with free buds and £425 upfront fee a good deal its unlimited everything and 6 months disney plus. I tried setting this up online and for some reason it says oops the details do not match up which i dont get as the address on my bank card matches my current address. Im wondering is it worth the stress as tried it 5 or 6 times lol
