sorted byPersonally I would always stick to the more basic machines like the ESAM4200 because I didn't get on with the built-in milk carafe system. We prefer the Aeroccino that came with our Nespresso. However if you want to try the fully automatic set up then you won't currently get better value than that.
Also noticed you can get 2 free 200g bags of Coffee with this machine when you register it on the Delonghi website.

I looks like some kind of subscription service so be sure to cancel.
So I would recommend a machine with a steam wand instead even though it takes a bit of practice. That way you can even pretend to be a barista!
But on top of that....they were also really unreliable. I had to send one back under warranty (after about 15 months) when the carafe stopped working, and it took them a full 3 months to conclude they could not fix it and give me a new one. The replacement machine lasted just over 2 years before again, the carafe part become blocked and unreliable.
Despite the easiness, don't think I would buy one again, even if cheap.
The model you mentioned has the advantage of an LCD which is much nicer than interpreting combinations of lights
My old Autentica seemed to perform very similarly to my current Dynamica except that the former had a steam wand instead of milk carafe
Lastly, buying a second hand unit can be problematic unless it has been professionally cleaned and serviced (edited)
Anyway after taking my time with it doing an hour here and there to break it up I put it back together and it works
My point is if a novice like myself can achieve taking the whole machine apart and putting it back together then anyone can so buy the part and give it a go
at that price, i bought one, been looking for a while
wanted the plus, but £287 is a good price for non plus
