What is the version... 2nd generation means 2017, but it says released in 2020 in the same time.

2nd generation version of the 11-inch pro ipad variant, which was released in 2020.

How does this compare with the 4th generation Air model? I’d be upgrading from an Air 2. Even wondering whether to go basic and save money with the standard iPad 9th gen. I only really use for browsing, watching films and occasional work documents on word etc. But my iPad Air is almost unusable now as it’s so slow.

If you can live with 64GB, or don’t mind paying for Apple Cloud storage, and don’t need Apple 2 pencil, go with the basic, latest model.

Apple trolling with these last generation chips and model at ridiculous pricing. Only doing this to keep current models price high and lower models inflated. Poor practice.

Check out Cex. I got a b grade 12.9in 256gb 5th gen with 18 months of Apple care plus. It looks unused and battery health is 100%. Cost £715 so I imagine these could be had cheaper. (edited)

The 128gb was £469 a few days ago. I bought one to replace an original gen 1 ipad pro. Its a fantastic piece of kit for the price. It comes as new with a new apple battery and casework and a years apple warranty. The performance is very noticably quicker than the gen 1 pro and the 11” screen is a much nicer size than the 9.7” too.

Is there a huge difference between this one and the M1 chip? I can't work out which one to get. Mostly going to use for browsing, watching netflix, taking notes, maybe some video / photo processing. Not really gaming at all.

You’ll be absolutely fine, I purchased this (but with less storage) several months ago and haven’t seen it struggle with anything I’ve thrown at it yet

I'd stick with the 9th gen, usually the battery becomes more of a problem before the lack of processing power and RAM to deal with the ongoing OS bloat..
