I just subscribed. But I actually get 30 tins of wet food+420g of dry food when I added my cat's weight of 5kg, being indoor/outdoor and wanting it to gain weight. You can cancel the subscription anytime after the taster box. Pretty good deal (highfive)!

There are a few online brands that I've looked into, and decided against RoC. A lot of recipes only have 4% of identifiable meat, the rest is meat derivatives. I opted for Blink, Untamed and Cool Cat Club. They all offer free trials and are much more " meaty". Of course, this may not be suitable for all cats. (edited)

Some mentioned they are looking for better brands. As a inexperienced cat owner, I found Scrumbles dry food really good, with a benefit that is, in my opinion, priceless. Litter box is now very easy to clean. The probiotics they use obviously benefit my cat and I'm raving about it.
In terms of wet food: you can be naughty and get a lot of good quality pouches and cans by using many email addresses for trials with Blink, Untamed, Cool Cat Club... I also rate Bistro range from Pets At Home. They use fillet meat and my cat likes it too! I would also suggest downloading Pets At Home app, as thy give out a lot of vouchers for their range, making it even more affordable. As always, what works for my cat may not work for yours. Give it a try!

thinks its even more food if u put ur cat at 7kg also, not sure if the code 'box90' works but used to come out as £1.50 for 45 tins and a bag of dry food

Put mine at 7.5kg, Still said 30 tins and just under a kg bag of dry....Still for £1.50, It's a nice bargain.
I feed several strays, So they'll be happy.

Is anyone actually interested in getting the best nutrition for their cats, or just the cheap cat food?

Could just be my cat but the resulting aftermath from these resembled what I’d expect from someone splitting a very dirty atom in the litter tray .

Where do you put the code gone all the way to payment and can’t see it

Well, it gives double the amount of wet food for £1.50 and lasts longer. Does that makes sense??
  15. luwpergwin's avatar
Ok, I've done the sums, for me this is too expensive.

For cat owners who might be interested.

Currently each cat gets 50g of Crave dry cat food/day mixed with 133g of Felix doubly delicious or as good as it looks.

    Daily
    dry food = 26.6p
    wet food = 33.9p
    total 60.5p/day

30 days = £18.15, so 3 cats are £54.45 to feed per month lets say.

The same amount of food from Republic of Cats to feed each cat for 30 days is coming out at £152.55.

So basically its triple the cost and I'd be paying £98.10 extra per month, or £1,177.2 extra over a year.

    It's a no from me I'm afraid.

I'm sure I could switch to Applaws or Lily's kitchen or some other high quality brand for less than that though I haven't looked into it as yet. Felix as good as it looks and doubly delicious is ok and they love it, but I recently found they put sugar in it so I'm looking to change when the stock pile is dwindling.

    basis
    120 pouches of Felix @ £30.59 (Amazon)
750g bag of Crave dry cat food @ £4.00 (Wilko)
    last September

Also very impressed by Bistro, haven't compared personally yet but apparently the "Delicious Recipes" cat food at Sainsburys is the same stuff. Range is more limited but only £0.70 for individual tins, don't think it's really any cheaper than PAH in bulk though. (edited)
