Great hardware but OnePlus software has really gone down hill. Lots of little software bugs take ages to be fixed.

For example currently every video taken with the camera you send over Whatsapp sends in 15fps. Lots of people with the same issue. At Xmas the camera app was so slow it barely take photos of the kids opening presents

    Just be warned

Don't have that problem on mine on oxygenOS 13, 13 has been flawless here, much less bugs than my Pixel and my iphone.

Only Samsung seems to get their software bug-free before releasing it these days. Apple, Google, OnePlus all seem about on par i.e. the first few releases need lots of bug fixes. Don't get me started on Xiaomi. (edited)

Good phone at a good price.
But are phones like this, which only have a year or so of software/security updates remaining, worth
    buying?
    S555's avatar
Not worth it imo. Unless you can root the phone etc which is something your average joe wouldn't know

Still rocking my OnePlus 6 and it's still going strong, when it finally gives up the ghost I probably won't buy another OnePlus phone due to the prices of their phones today, OnePlus were flagship killers with their pricing but now are just flagships phones at flagship prices.

Probably not in all honesty. Maybe for the camera but that's about it

I have seen 256 12GB version in green on amazon recently for 400ish.

Been waiting for a deal on the Oppo X5 Find (missed the free tablet/free watch bundles) ... Not sure whether to go for this instead...

Got a Galaxy S10 at the minute and never been overly impressed with it, but battery life on it is awful (12 hours with light use if I'm lucky) now so getting desperate...

I'm currently running the find x5 and, I'm sure that the op 9 pro is the same, the hardware is brilliant. Solid, premium and reliable. For me the biggest issue is the chip, the Snapdragon 888.....it's absolute pants! Battery life is the worst I've ever had with an average sot of 3 to 4 hours. Had oneplus devices for years and I love em but I'd avoid the 9 pro cos it also has the 888. Apart from that, I'm sure it's great.

That is a fantastic phone for the money. If I wouldn't bought 10pro last Christmas, I would be buying this now.

How much did you pay for the 10 pro out of interest?

Comparing my Samsung note 10Lite to this on gsm arena, i do like the look of the 120 hz screen and higher resolution but no slot for sd card is a shame and something i'd defo miss, lots of the specs do seem quite similar between these 2 , so maybe i should just stay patient until i see more substantial upgrades for 400ish in the nxt year or so (edited)

I have a Oneplus 7T and its been flawless so far. Camera is a bit rubbish however. I've been looking at upgrading. Is this phone much better?
    zarftrain's avatar
Yes! My wife had this one, while I was on OnePlus 7. And it is day and night.

Camera is really good. Go for it.

Is this signalling the end it the 9 series? More deals to come Is it is.

Heat a good price and plenty of life left in this old dog, just get on a good version and stay on it until the forum pass off another version that is stable.

Fantastic phone at a reasonable cost I upgraded from a OnePlus T7 to a OnePlus 9 Pro in 2022 for a cost of £647. (edited)

I bought this from Amazon Germany about 6 months ago for roughly this price. But ended up returning it as the battery life was so bad. Couldn't get through a full day without charging it.

Easy get 2 days on mine. Sometimes into 3rd day but usually into single digits by then

Any better than a 3 year old Huawei P30 Pro?
    Deisler1234's avatar
Same question here. I have P30 pro but the battery has been deteriorating recently.

My wife has the OnePlus Nord CE and has been happy with it but battery life is starting to be a problem. She doesn't use all the features of any phone. Main use calls, WhatsApp, camera and social media for our coffee shop. Is this a good replacement or other suggestions that are good for pictures and social media?

Real mountain of choice tbh. But if camera is one of your main priorities choose a pixel, trade in the oneplus at Currys for at least £125, and get the pixel 7 for £374 ish. Alternatively, the pixel 6 / pro can be had around this price.
  22. HK47's avatar
is this the best sub £400 option and what would be the best sub £150 option? for overall specs and ease of use

I cannot get on with the pixel 7 that I got for a steal from Amazon I used to have p30 pro is this a decent change?
    TheCostOfLies's avatar
    What's wrong with the pixel?

How is the Samsung A54 5G against this one with free Galaxy Buds 2 - samsung.com/uk/…uy/
    fishmaster's avatar
The OnePlus 9 Pro is technically better in almost every regard being an almost flagship phone.

However the real killer for the OnePlus 9 Pro is it's a 2021 phone so the software update support will be ending by 2024. So you'd likely have to look to LineageOS for future software support.

I still have my 4 year-old OnePlus 7 Pro 5G... plenty fast still, great screen, etc. Not had a single problem with it ever. I will only replace it when it is clearly struggling with the fact that it is no longer supported. I like the look and price of the new 11, but am a bit wary about it because only OnePlus themselves seem to sell it here. Can anyone tell me why no one else stocks it?
    Walkerscrisp's avatar
Not sure about the 11 vendors but Amazon have it as well, but does seem quite limited to buy.

I'm in the same position as you but with an 8t. It's had its hiccups with various updates breaking it, but is pretty stable now and great to use day to day.

I need to be very careful with my next choice when I eventually need to, as have phone hopped regularly until I got this.

    Switchy can i ask.

My mom has a Pixel 4a, because it has a good camera and she takes alot of photos, but she wants to change because the battery life is really bad. Could you reccommend a phone that has good battery life and good camera but cheap or good value. She would be willing to give any brand ago. Its got to have headphone jack too. Thanks
    ohsomeonenew's avatar
Headphone jack is difficult else pixel 6a is a good transition
