    IMHO... BIG HEAT 🔥

Do your body a favour... And do not judge by initial appearances and texture etc alone.. keep a open mind and wait until you have tasted the end result!

Remember it is PLANT BASED (NOT ANIMAL MEAT).

Secret to make a truly tasty healthier burger? ...

Lightly season, air fry/or grill or BBQ very well (to let the juices run off and firm up, brown n cook the pattie) and [then] dress with lettuce, tomato, lite mayo n relish (onion, cheese, jalapeños optional) on a nice bun (or wrap). And enjoy!

    Result: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If in doubt, do some research, check out the comments, reviews and videos etc

    Example.

These are great and that’s coming from a meat eater. I always choose these over meat ones and another bonus is that these are served at Wetherspoons at a reasonable price, if you want to try one.
I buy them on offer and freeze them and later air fry them from frozen. I load mine with ketchup, tomato and coleslaw. Just lovely.
Ideal for veggies and those cutting down on red meat.

The wetherspoons near me need teaching on how to cook these. Always come out overdone.

Starting to feel worried about these burgers, heavily processed

Agreed. I prefer "meatless farm" burgers which do not have so much fat / liquid n when cooking. I would also recommend the meatless farm hotdogs for the same reason..

    Before anyone else complains....

Processed foods: When ingredients such as oil, sugar or salt are added to foods and they are packaged, the result is processed foods. Examples are simple bread, cheese, tofu, and canned tuna or beans. These foods have been altered, but not in a way that's detrimental to health.

    Get the facts first...

But nutritionally they don’t seem much/any better than beef. Environmentally, I’m sure they are better.

I wanted to like these but I don’t.

I tried these and I am a Butcher by trade Truly amazing, you could give this to someone who did not know and there would be no questions asked, I've eaten some meat burgers that were much worse than these
    Great Product, Great find OP

These taste better than most burgers. It’s a shame they always cost so much. I’ll be picking up some of these even though I’m not veggie, thanks

Same - I don't really care about veggie things but this actually taste pretty good. Just a bit too pricy

*someone posts a BOGOF deal for Rustler burgers*

HUKD: “phwoar, love a gob full of that! Bought 20 to keep the kids happy!”

*someone posts a deal for any vegetarian food*

HUKD: “hmmmm… not sure this quite meets my complex micro/macro nutrient requirements. Looks to be low in a few essential vitamins and minerals… will you look like Brad Pitt if you munch them down three times a day? Checkmate, veggies and vegans of the world!” (edited)

It's funny because there's probably the same amount of meat in the Rustler to this.

Lots of people saying these are heavily processed. I'm definitely trying to cut down on processed food, but what veggie burgers aren't processed? They all seem to be as far as I can tell.

Good find and price, heat added.

The only thing I find with these is the amount of liquid they dispel when cooking, such a red/pink mess!

Shocking how much liquid is dispelled, makes you really think that it's real meat! Delicious and a great price tho, heat

Taste pretty good but also very processed and I can’t see this is a good thing. Its easy to eat healthy vegetarian food without sacrificing taste before resorting to these.

Scary how much fat comes out of these burgers. All these heavily processed VEGAN foods are not as healthy as they make out. Just looking at all the chemicals being used to make this stuff is really not healthy at all.

I do admit they taste good having tried them, but was put off by the oil that came out of them when cooking so won't be going back.

I'd rather make my own burgers from scratch.
Heat added for the OP as its a good deal for those that don't care about their health.

    You're misunderstanding what vegan means.
    Vegan means without animal products.
These burgers contain no meat or other animal products, therefore they are vegan. But they are still a burger, are burgers meant to be healthy? No.
A bag of sugar and a bottle of vegetable oil are vegan too. Are any of these things healthy? No. Does anyone claim they are healthy? Also no.

Good luck with that, from one that did it an awful long time ago, longer than I care to mention! It will take you a while to find what you do like and what you don’t like. As always, some of the stuff is great and other stuff is yuk! But don’t be put off, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Flavour and reasons to go vegan aside (I once had a great lasagna with meat free mince) I don't understand how "fake meat" done with some veggies and flavouring is more expensive than beef.

Main reason is that the government subsidise the meat and dairy industries, it's like they have a plan to make the population as sick and fat as they can.
  17. gtd65's avatar
    gtd65
The most convincing "fake burger" I've eaten so far.
Seem overly expensive to me, as an omnivore but worth a try, especially, if you see them reduced on clearance at the end of the day.

Yeah I don't get why people would think a burger is healthy just because it's vegan. Burgers are supposed to be unhealthy.

Just because I'm vegan it doesn't automatically mean I want to eat some super raw beetroot burger.

I want to eat the same as everyone else just with no harm to animals or the planet.

Had the double McPlant recently from McDonald's, it was better than any burger they sell and I've eaten them all, the only burger tastier is the big tasty, but that is only available on occasions.

The comments are really good however the thing I’m confused about is why do plant based meats cost the same as regular?
Surely the cost to produce would be far less?

Anyway the comments clearly suggest I should be trying them.

    Economy of scale.
Plus I would suspect, keeping their prices higher, it provides exclusively and 'we r better' club feeling. Vegan food for masses hasn't quiet happened yet.
And presumably more waste as not many ppl buy then vs cheaper ones.

People buy ready meals and complain they're processed. Of course they are. Want an unprocessed burger? Buy meat, mince it, season, make a burger. If you don't have a machine to make mince, buy ready minced meat. (edited)

I bought a load of these from my Sainbury's local for 10p a pack and stuck them in the freezer.

I also bought some Cauldron Lincolnshire Sausages...the pack said do not freeze as it they had previously been thawed for sale in the chilled counter. I ignored this and froze them.
