8 Reasons to try grüum’s Shampoo Bars

If you’re searching for natural-packed haircare that’s as kind to your body as it is to the planet, then you’ll love grüum.

Here are eight reasons why our award-winning hår Shampoo Bars could be exactly what you’ve been looking for (and what the giant liquid shampoo companies hope you will not discover)

1. Plastic-free packaging
Did you know that in 1 year – the average British household throws away over 25 plastic haircare bottles? By using our plastic-free shampoo bars, you’ll be reducing your waste and environmental impact – whilst not compromising on quality. Over a year or a decade – that’s a LOT of plastic saved.

But don’t buy this bar just for the environmental impact.

2. Shampoo bars handmade in England
Sustainability is important to us – that’s why we manufacture in the same country we despatch orders from. No needless emissions: just a simple, eco-friendly journey from us to you.

3. Easy to use
Using our bars is a breeze. Just get them wet, work up a lather, massage into your hair from root to tip, and then rinse thoroughly for a clean, healthy finish. Once you see the results for yourself, you’ll never go back to liquid shampoo again.

4. Nearly 2x more washes vs. 250ml bottle.
You can even get up to 60 washes out of each bar. These small savings add up quickly, for you, and the 🌎 we live on.

5. A bar suitable for all hair types
Our Nourishing Shampoo Bar is suitable for all hair types, and formulated using just 5 simple ingredients. It’s packed with Coconut Oil, which is renowned for its ability to tame frizz and encourage healthy growth. It penetrates each strand with ease, while antimicrobial properties protect and soothe your scalp.

6. Free from chemical nasties
We care about your hair. That’s why our Shampoo bars are packed with natural goodness and made with:

  • No SLES
  • No artificial colours
  • No parabens
  • No alcohol
  • No EDTA

7. Everyone’s invited
At grüum we don’t do labels, we don’t make things “for him” or “for her”, we make them for everyone, with one fair price for all. Our products are suitable for all ages and genders. For every bit of every body, as we say!

8. What you see is what you get
When you make the switch to grüum, you know exactly what you’re getting before you buy. You can check out every ingredient in our hår Shampoo Bars below and avoid any hidden surprises (great if you have sensitive skin or allergies).

Nourishing Coconut Shampoo Bar ingredients: Sodium Coco Sulphate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Aqua, Parfum, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone.

I got this a few years ago on a deal. Awful product. Smelled nice but left my hair horribly dry.
    iliyan.ivanov's avatar
Looks like it defends on your hair/skin. I'm on the complete opposite, after trying this and some of their other soaps I refuse to use anything else. I always buy when there is some kind of deal along with their off cuts soap.

Great offer as you can add other items and postage is still free.

Whilst this is a deal at a £1, that might appeal to some people. These are normally £8 plus £3.95 postage for a single bar. That just seems excessively expensive for shampoo to me. Irrespective that their claiming all sorts of environmental credentials for the product.
    Joshua_Marsay's avatar
It's better for the environment because your not using plastic bottles

This is fair value at £1.

Let it be known that Savers do a very similar product that is £1 all the time!

My Mrs hates savers, she always see's something in there that she's recently paid more for elsewhere

The £5 free vocher will always be useful. I've used Gruum for the past 2 years and really rate their stuff.

Promising but I've found it leaves my hair with a weird coating like normal soap does. Not for me but good for some. Have some heat 🔥
    Frugalstudent's avatar
I was going to comment the exact same thing. It's not great not terrible, but mainly it leaves a weird coating in my hair. My hair never feels actually clean using this.

I've got straight, fuss-free, relatively thin hair and would not recommend this product. Maybe if your hair has texture and good volume you won't notice or mind the filmy coating.

    Great deal, thanks OP!

Better, possibly, than the deal I posted for a trio trial pack @ £3.95 delivered (which includes this Shampoo Bar), unless you want to try the other products too! (edited)
    grant.evans's avatar
I just order the trio you posted, thanks!

Great shampoo! I have it from another promotion and took on campsite and to a trip to Spain, really handy to minimise bottle amounts and it lathers well!
    Frugalstudent's avatar
Does it leave a weird coating in you hair? My hair never feels clean with it and it leaves this strange film like a solidified oil. Great value to try for a pound but I'm still looking for a good shampoo bar.
  12. chitychatty's avatar
Morrisons did a shampoo bar for a while called Nutmeg ( or that was the branding). I stocked up on a load when they were on offer at about £3 but they seem to have been discontinued.

It frustrates me that budget options don't exist for shampoo bars.
    YellowPeril's avatar
Home bargains do shampoo bars for 99p or £1 - can't remember exactly... I think there are 3 or 4 different types. I bought the coconut one but haven't tried it yet

Great deal. These shampoo bars last a long time and work well for us.
  17. bayhabourbutcher's avatar
have only used coconut shampoo (or similar eg coconut & almond) for a long time now but its got harder to find at a reasonable price over the past few years so this is a useful deal for me

a few years back you could buy a 1 litre family size bottle of coconut shampoo for about 80p IIRC from sainsburys but that was discontinued - currently the cheapest I can find is the boots everyday coconut & almond shampoo for 75p for 500ml (ie almost double the price) - & that is the same price as before we started getting inflation

if these bars equate to 500ml then its a reasonable deal for £1 for pure coconut shampoo without the usual chemicals that get added (edited)

This is even more expensive than Lush
    MattMac's avatar
How? Buying a lush bar is £13 delivered. This is £1. Even at full price (these are always on offer in reality) these are cheaper. If you are on their email list you'll probably never pay more than £5 delivered for these with the constant promotions they have on.

Poundland sell a bar that looks very similar to this
    Shrekt's avatar
Was it a bar of soap by any chance?

    lush cosmetics better
    MattMac's avatar
Maybe but this is £1 delivered, a Lush Cosmetics bar is £13 delivered. Very hard to compare the two when the price is 13x more expensive.

    Yes, less Bird use..

Ended up getting the other deal with the 3 bars for £3.95 as I wanted to try the face bar. Tried stacking them in the hope it would cover the shipping, but no luck lol

Wonder how good for the environment everyone getting one tiny bar of soap delivered to their house is.
    MattMac's avatar
They use RM who deliver to most addresses every day. It's not ideal but still better than plastic bottles of shampoo being shipped half way across the world.

Hair shampoo, will it work if I'm bald
  35. isuleman's avatar
Placed an order last night for this, still haven't received an order confirmation email. Anyone else had this issue? I've contacted them but no reply.
  36. Newbold's avatar
It’s worth a pound. No more. Their normal prices are just daft. Manufacturing cost maybe 50p tops? They’ll more than cover the postage costs with the insistent upsales nags.
  37. M91's avatar
This wouldn't make much of a dent in my plastic footprint.. I get through about 2 4pt milk bottles a week and 1 300ml shampoo bottle a year
  38. mad.dog's avatar
Great deal, but they do love an upsell at checkout!!!
  39. stuartw's avatar
Soap and shampoo bars are definitely the cheapest way to wash, though more of a faff. Or local plastic free ship sells shampoo bars at £5 and they last for months
