Hi fellow savers!

Right, I appreciate not everyone likes Apple products and that the price tag is often quite high with them, however I received an email from Barclaycard about this offer and thought it was quite a good deal for someone who was considering making a purchase.

Apple do offer a finance option but this is usually with a 14.9% interest charge so it is a bit of a saving.

Online or in store.

Blurb -

With an exclusive 0% interest offer from Barclaycard, you can now spread the cost of a new iPhone 5 over 12 months.

All you need to do is...

Visit any Apple Retail Store or go to store.apple.com/uk Find your nearest Apple Retail Store at apple.com/uk/…il/
Choose a new Apple product such as the iPhone 5 and spend over £429*
Pay with your Barclaycard and enjoy your new purchase

Limited time only

This exclusive offer applies to Apple purchases made between 24 April 2013 and 31 July 2013 at any Apple Retail Store or at store.apple.com/uk You will need to have your Barclaycard to hand*.

Im afraid it's for barclaycard customers. Does not include barclays customers

Good deal for me will the new mini iPad be out by then ..
If I continue to use my barclaycard will this balance be partitioned off from my normal spend, as I spend a lot on my barclaycard and don't want this to interfere with my zero interest a month when paying in full

Just checked with Barclaycard, they have said this offer is for new customers only. They would not apply this deal to my card, I have been with them for 8 years and always paid the full amount each month.

Maybe as a caution call them to check your individual accounts telephone 0800 9177277

Yep, I would check as I am an existing customer and I have received the email. Not used my card for a while though so maybe it's to get me spending again!

I have been a Barclaycard customer for about 8 years as well and got the deal, I'm definatley not a new customer!

I will call them again, if no offer I will cancel my account. Then use a different card to buy my iPhone 5 and a MacBook Air. Good for all those that can take the offer?

Been with them for years and got this email in my inbox today. First time they do something useful I have to say!

Ps heat added.

Done!

Perfect for people on social benefits.

If I already have interest free credit on my card and go for this will the total sum become interest free? Sorry for the stupid question but I've been stung by credit card companies before and am keen to avoid a repeat!

Just go Samsung and save a few hundred quid

I bought the ipad mini from very the other week and used the £25 off first order voucher 7% quidco (may or may not work) and 6 months BNPL

cold, because it's Apple.

I'm a bit confused how this is a good deal, surely you'd be better off taking out a new credit card with Halifax with 17months 0% and there's no minimum spend and applies to all who open an account
http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/balance-transfer-purchase/purchase-card/

Or tesco do one with 16months 0% on purchases and you get club card points

Surely its a good deal for anyone with a Barclaycard? No messing about with credit applications, turn up at the shop, buy and its done. I have a BC and I didn't know the offer was on, so thanks to the TC.

Meh, Currys PC World already offer 12 months interest free credit for Apple's over-rated products from £399.

Hot because I like Steve Jobs.

In Steve we believe.

Just also had the mail offering this - appears to be customer specific. Had a bcard for 15 years

Hot because it makes the market leading devices available to those of us who could only otherwise have to put up with the poor competition which we all know is cheap but crap.

Just wondering how does this affect credit limit?

Means one thing...iPhone 5s or 6 is coming!

Tesco do 6-months interest free in their big stores on any electrical purchases over £399 I think..

hot.

STEVE JOBS' TARTAN ARMY

can it be used on the education store?

Awesome

Believe PC world also offers 12 months 0% finance. There's a final payment charge of around £25 though, and, of course, awful customer service thrown in for free!

I'm curious as to whether you just need to spend over £429 in one purchase, or whether you have to buy just one product £429 or more... anyone have any ideas? They're never quite as specific as they could be on these things

"Exclusive offer to selected Barclaycard UK customers - 0% interest for 12 months on any Apple products over £429 from an official Apple store both on the high street or at apple.com/uk" - this suggests as long as you spend over £429 then the offer will apply... or not?

For anyone else pondering my query also - I spoke to Barclaycard and they confirmed you just need to spend £429 or more on Apple online or at retail, it doesn't have to be just one product.

If this rather questionable deal isn't available, you can still buy something from Apple you can't really afford by applying for an interest free credit card (purchases) that will give you a longer repayment term (so you can keep buying power cards) of around 15-18 months.

Is this deal still current? The text says expire on 31/07/2013.
