Problem with the Virgin is that they're likely to offer very low credit limit, so there won't be much that you can actually transfer. I've been approved for Virgin card with the limit of £950!!! only, while Halifax offered my almost 10k afterwards. My credit score is very good too.

Watch the minimum payments. Cards which allow just 1% instead of BC's 2.25% (?) let you get the interest free benefit on a much bigger proportion of the initial transferred balance by the end of 3 years.

Virgin gave me in excess of £5k limit a few weeks ago, albeit on a lower fee/fewer 0% months card.

That's because you must have applied for Virgin after Halifax, credit pot is only so much.

Don't count on Quidco..

I have just applied for the Halifax 16 month 0% with no BTF and got rejected! My credit rating is exemplary, could that be the reason why?

It actually was the other way round - I thought the Virgin card offer was great, so had applied but because they only gave me such a low limit I've been forced to apply for another one... In fact I've not been given such a low limit for years. Maybe just my bad luck with Virgin

I'm sorry mate, I've no idea. You can maybe try the moneysavingexpert.com credit card eligibility search- they can estimate how likely you gonna be approved and they only use a "soft search" that doesn't affect your credit history moneysavingexpert.com/eli…ds/
