What about data??

What about data??

You have to buy an additional bolt-on for data. Good if you don't need data.

500mb is £5 per month more.

I have this (chose unlimited landline calls) and received £100 quidco .. don't use anywhere near the full 600mins, so can drop to 300mins for £5 less even though my contract is only half-way through

thinking about dropping to 300mins but adding on a data bundle, so will ultimately stay at my current rate

Yes

MMS not included and cost 20p so if you send picture mesages a lot this could get dear. I used to get 300 texts, 1 MMS took 4 texts from my allowance. When I got unlimited they became chargeable?

you don't have to wait until your contract ends, you can amend it online during your current contract, just do one of those webchat's with their support team and they change it there and then

Can I take advantage of this if im an eisting customer? I have a pay monthly sim and think i only have a couple of months left. I never get offers like this lol. It will be quite good tomention the fact they advertise on tv recently that existing customers get same as new customers, you know, that evil woman that comes down from the sky.

I guess the problem is that if you have to phone up O2 to get the deal, you won't get the cashback (and maybe not the store voucher?) which together are the things that make it a particularly good deal. So I am not sure even if you can get the deal as an existing customer that it is a particularly good deal for us.

seems good deal, but SIM only should come further down...
don't be in rush as very good SIM only deals coming quite often these days....
T-Mobile, GiffGaff, Tesco etc...

so £20 a month for 12 months? This doesn't seem great, i'm on £10 a month 30 day rolling

even with the voucher its
£240 - £50 voucher = about £16 a month

then even with the cashback
£190-£65 = £10.40 a month

yeah the minutes are slightly more 600 vs. 300 but for all the hassle you have to go through its not great imo

Yes, O2 changed their terms i believe, if you have a known quantity of texts like you did it was valid, if you change off that to something newer i.e unlimited texts, the free mms and free texting from abroad to uk etc were taken away. Happened to me even though an adviser said it wouldnt, kicked up a stink and was given my old tariff back

Even so the cashback is over £75.00 on a 20.00 contract not the £65.00 you have put on !!!!!!!!!!and 900 mins too dicksteel18!!!!!!!

Top cashback is only paying £50.50 on the 12 month £15.21 deal NOT £65.65

1200 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited O2 to O2 or Landline calls

£25.53p/m (£306.36) - £101 cashback = £17.11p/m
£25.53p/m (£306.36) - (£101 cashback + £50 voucher) = £12.95p/m

900 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited O2 to O2 or Landline calls

£20.42p/m (£245.04) - £75.75 cashback = £14.11p/m
£20.42p/m (£245.04) - (£75.75 cashback + £50 voucher) = £9.94p/m

600 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited O2 to O2 or Landline calls

£15.32p/m (£183.84) - £50.50 cashback = £11.11p/m
£15.32p/m (£183.84) - (£50.50 cashback + £50 voucher) = £6.95p/m

300 minutes, unlimited texts (No voucher on tarrifs below £15)

£10.21p/m (£122.52) - £65.65 cashback = £56.87 = £4.74p/m

(Cashback is through TCB as it's slightly higher than Quidco)

Extremely good deals imho (barring the 300 minute tariff, see below). I'm on the PAYG O2 Unlimited tariff at the moment which costs me £15p/m and gives me unlimited texts, unlimited O2 to O2 calls and £15 credit which gives me 60 minutes to other networks should I wish/need to use it.

On the cheapest 300 minute tariff, that equates to ~£61 worth of calls. So you would actually get more for your money by going on the PAYG O2 Unlimited tariff. Even though the cashback on the simplicity deal makes it £10.26p/m cheaper, you would only get ~49 minutes worth of calls outside of the 300 minutes for that £10.26. That's versus the unlimited O2 to O2 calls on the PAYG Unlimited tariff + 60 minutes (£15 credit) on top.

600 minutes equates to ~£122 worth of calls. 900 minutes equates to ~£183 worth of calls, and 1200 minutes equates to ~£244 worth of calls. All far better than the PAYG tariff, especially after the cashback and voucher!

tks, I made a new 12 month contract on £10/month, the same as I had so if I get the £65 cashback .... a bit of hassle to keep the old number but worth it for £ 65

My gf gets 600 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data + £100 cashback from O2 on a 12 month contract @ £15pm.

Took it out last year but O2 have gone a bit more stingier with their Simplicity deals of late. It seemed to coincide with them putting the caps on the basic broadband packages. This is still an OK deal but just not as good as what they used to offer.

I'm sure O2 must of lost loads of customers when the T-mobile deal was available 2 weeks ago.
That to me was a much better off - no cashback, just very good value for money at £7.66 per month.
I was one of those O2 customers :-)

looks good + o2/orange minutes can be used for overseas call.

When i moved to o2 18months back to take advantage of the £100 quidco on the £20 a month it didnt track but then I just raised an earnings enquiry and i got the quidco.
I've since moved back to vodafone and got another £100 quidco, when that ones up in september i'll be after another £100 quidco ;-)

i like your style commen sense really

I called o2 today to upgrade. The kind lady advised me to wait until tomorrow as they will be lauching new tarrifs and prices.

Edited by: "Rudki" 28th Mar 2011

'The Kind lady', hmmm.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, it appears they've removed unlimited O2 to O2 and web bolt-on is now £6/500MB!

o2 have just put all there prices up i can see a lot of people leaving them

Yes, they have removed unlimited O2 to O2 or Land Line What a crap.

It's still available on the PAYG 'O2 Unlimited' tariff, so if you were planning on going for the 300 minutes simplicity tariff, you'd be better off with the PAYG tariff as explained above. Possibly better off than the other deals now too, without doing some calculations/what networks the people you call most are on
Edited by: "ClubLife" 30th Mar 2011

Quidco just tracked £50 for the £10/month tariff so I'm quite pleased, I basically now have £6/month instead of £10/month. I do not want to leave them, I like their service and also have very good broadband from them.
