Where did you read it has HDR10? I'm pretty certain I read that HDR10 starts at the UH770 and upwards only (even then it might only be 8+2 rather than full 10bit), so would be very surprising on this low end set.

LG are pretty liberal with their use of such phrases and jargon, and I'm pretty certain this is an 8bit panel........best chance is for 8+2 imo. I applaud your bravery though!

Apologies, I didn't make myself clear. Irregardless of whether it supports HDR (and to what extent at this price point), if it has a poor refresh rate then it will be useless for playing fast games (jerky etc). The review made no mention of this therefore I was criticising the quality of it. You simply cannot buy a TV for console use without knowing what the refresh is like (and you can't go by the marketing nonsense that LG and co write either about processing engines etc).

HDR Pro means support for both HDR10 and Dolby Vision. So, I called their … HDR Pro means support for both HDR10 and Dolby Vision. So, I called their customer support number and escalated my call until I was able to find someone who was willing to contact one of their engineers, and he confirmed that, while the TV is capable of processing 12-bit color, it only officially supports HDR10 content, not Dolby Vision, as it doesn't have the proprietary Dolby Vision processor. Their HDR Pro designation means support for the HDR10 standard only, and their HDR Super-designated TVs support both HDR10 and Dolby Vision

Please don't listen to anything LG tell you. When they say that the TV "supports" HDR10, that simply means the TV engine ca OPn process a signal from a HDR10 source. This TV is only an 8bit panel, therefore cannot and will not display the full colour range of a 10 bit panel can.

I'm not trying to be a smart **** either. I'm just not a fan of the fake advertising of these companies to trick people. it's a disgrace. A TV shouldn't be allowed to advertise anything to do with HDR unless it's a 10bit panel.

LG are also very cheeky when 4K is concerned, using a method called RGBW or what the internet calls FauxK. Be careful when choosing a TV where LG are the manufacturer. Do plenty research.

If you want true HDR Samsung and their KS7/8/9 range, especially for gaming as they have an input response of 21ms during HDR 4K gaming at 60hz.

If you receive an HDR signal on a 8 bit 4K HDR supported panel is the picture any better than having no HDR at all???
